180 Energy Drink

Do you have a business that requires you to use commercial dishwashers? If you do, then you need to know how you can conserve energy. These dishwashers can use up a lot of excess energy that will end up costing you money you don't need to spend. Knowing how to save energy can also help you save money.

Here are the most important things that can be done to help any business save money with dishwashers.

1. Always train your employees to never start a load of dishes until the rack is full. Washing only half of a load uses a lot of energy, so it makes sense to wait until it is full before using that much energy.

2. It is important that you check the temperature of the water. You can get a dishwasher thermometer to help you check it. It is a good idea to check it during the rinse cycle on a regular basis.

This is really important on high temperature washers because you want to make sure the temperature is 180 degrees Fahrenheit for every cycle. This can help you save energy because you can adjust the water temperature to be sure it is not running to cold or too hot, but at 180 degrees at all times.

3. Did you know that you can adjust the water temperature on your water heater to ensure you are minimizing wasting water? It doesn't matter if you have a booster heater, commercial water heater or even an internal tank heater, all of these can be adjusted. You want to keep checking the temperature of the water heater because as you use it more, the water temp can change, so you will need to adjust it as this happens.

4. Get in the habit at night of turning off the tank heaters and the booster heaters. These units will keep heating water overnight and this will waste quite a bit of energy. If you turn them off at night and back on in the morning, then you will be able to save a lot of energy instead.

5. Always check the water pressure on a regular basis. If it says that you are using more than 25 pounds per square inch or PSI, then this means that you are wasting energy by using too much water. Most dishwashers only use 20 PSI. It is always a good idea to check with the manufacturer to find out what the best PSI is and then adjust it accordingly.

These are the most important things you can do to help you conserve energy when using commercial dishwashers. There are also other things that you can do to save energy that you can learn about with a little research. The smart thing to do is to get in the habit of doing these things and others that you learn about to be sure you are saving money every month; instead of spending what you don't need to.

    • ANSWER:
Joker Lo-Carb Mad Energy is one of the safer energy drinks. It is NOT loaded with sugar, like most energy drinks, and only has the caffeine equalvilant of one 8 oz cup of coffee. Most of the ingredients, the "B" vitamins, the taurine and inositol, are peed out of you don't use them.
This is the energy drink of choice by me. It's safe (IF you are extremely active) and very low in price. And it works! I drink 5 or 6 of these a week.
If you do experience the jitters, or have trouble falling asleep at night, I would advise stop taking these drinks. If you have no such issues, then enjoy!

  16. QUESTION:
What are the long term health effects of having 1-2 energy drinks per day?
I drink about 1-2 cans a day. The cans have 160-180 mg of caffeine each usually. Could this have any effects? I heard it makes your adrenal gland not work properly is there any evidence for this?

    • ANSWER:
To the best of my knowledge, there still aren't any completed long term studies of the contents of the energy drinks. I believe we still don't know how much taurine (a common ingredient) is even okay for us to have. It's probably not good to drink that many though. All that high fructose cornsyrup could mean diabetes later on for you. Regadless, I'd cut it back to 5 a week or something.

  21. QUESTION:
If you drink cold water, it will soon warm to your body temperature (about 37°C).?
If you drink cold water, it will soon warm to your body temperature (about 37°C). The water acquires thermal energy from your body. Therefore, you ought to be able to control your weight by drinking lots of cold water. Estimate the volume of cold water you would need to drink so that the energy used to warm it equals the energy released while metabolizing a 180‐kcal scoop of ice cream. Indicate any assumptions you made.

    • ANSWER:
      No

Well....this DOES happen, but you can NOT regulate your weight by this.

Drinking an amount of water that would actually draw enough energy for you to lose weight would give you water-poisoning.

Yes, you read that correctly...water-poisoning. You can drink so much water that it will kill you. It happens...and as much as I HATE disbursing websites in my answers, sometimes it's necessary. You can look up the could sites I gave you, or just Google 'water poisoning'.

Too much of ANYTHING is bad for you.

    Energy Mint Vending Business?
    Hello all,

I am close to closing a vending machine business but are trying to get my numbers right and see if this makes sense and will be profitable.

First of all this is an energy mint which I have had and loved, I think having it in a gym, bar and on a college campus would be a hot item.

The deal I am working out would cost be ,250 for 25 vending machines and the right to buy this product for the merchandisor at a discount price and also would give me retail rights.

Retail rights aside I am trying to get the vending info straight and this is what I came out with.

    12,225 - 25 Vending Machines

    3 partners - Partner A half is 6112 Partner B 3056 Partner C 3056 = 12,225 - 25 Machines and retail rights.

1 Vending Machine holds 1,000 mints selling at .50 cents each. 1,000x.50=0.00

    0.00 (-0 manuf cost) =0.00

    0 X (.40 vending profit 0.00) = 0

    0 / 2 = .00 my cut Partner A and B.

Please keep in mind that these energy mints are new and are compared to energy drinks, 5 hour energy and such.

    Does look profitable to you?

    • ANSWER:
Well the obvious point is that the machines are way overpriced, your basically buying bulk candy machines, which you can typically buy for anywhere from 150-250 each. Also are you going to be paying a commission to these locations or are you planning on putting the machines in on a charity? Also how are they acquiring the locations for your route? Also most bulk candy machines only charge 25 cents each, so I am sure it might surprise some people that your machine is charging 50 cents each. Check out the web site below. Also don't forget to check out the Better Business Bureau on this company you are going to buy machines from.

i want to lose alot of weight by november?
i'm 13 i way 180 pounds my height is somewhere from 5'8" to 6'0" i want to lose at least 40 pounds by november. i don't eat chocolate or meat anymore i eat fat free or low calorie foods i don't ever eat breakfast i take multi vitamins almost every day i'm like addicted to amp energy drinks because they give me energy to stay awake &it just tastes sooooooo good i can't stop drinking it. i need tips on how i can lose alot of weight in only 2months. i usually don't eat alot when i'm hungry &when i am hungry i just drink soda or something until i'm not hungry anymore...
the reason i'm worrying about my weight is because it could lead to diseases &stuff like heart problems...plus i don't want to wait to lose weight what if it's too late?

    • ANSWER:
      What you should do.
1.Talk to your doctor. Worrying to much about dieting at 13 can cause eating disorders.
2.Now, Yahoo health has a pretty good BMI calculator. Use it , but measure your waistline first because you have to know that.
      3. You can't lose 40 pounds by November. Correction, you can, but it's VERY unhealthy. Healthy weight loss is 1-2 pounds a week. There are about 4 weeks in a month so in one month you can lose 4-8 pounds. This is september so in 2 months you can lose 8-16 pounds by November on a healthy diet.

  26. QUESTION:
How would i go about losing some weight and getting ripped?
    im at about 190, 5' 6"
i am fat. I'm not huge though, as i use to workout 4 days a week (weight lifting class in school) and last i maxed my bench it was 200 and i weight about 175-180 at the time. I drink far too much soda, coffee, energy drinks, etc. So i know i'd have to drop those, but what about food? can i still eat normal things (not necessarily fast food, just normal meals i'd prepare). Also how much cardio would i need to work in? I lift weights or do push-ups/sit-ups/squats frequently, but i don't much care for cardio. Can i just get my cardio by using a jump rope, or would i need to actually go running/swimming?

All answers appreciated, i'm not supposed to swim this summer, but i'd like to tone my body up regardless.

BUT when i drink a rockstar in the morning i feel great and perfect for school and i dont feel the bring me down its weird

    • ANSWER:
Caffeine helps people to stay awake because it is a member of the xanthine chemical group. Adenosine is a neurotransmitter that helps you feel tired, fall asleep, and stay asleep, and is also in the xanthine chemical group. Because of that similarity, caffeine looks like adenosine to neurons, and it binds to the adenosine receptors. It blocks the receptors so that they can no longer sense the adenosine, and the CNS speeds up so that you don't feel tired.

When the CNS speeds up, the body thinks that there is an emergency and produces adrenaline. The liver releases sugar into the blood for extra energy, pupils dilate, heart rate decreases, your trachea opens up, etc.

Caffeine sometimes produces a euphoric effect because it causes the body to think that it needs to produce more dopamine. This is also what heroin does, but caffeine obviously does it on a much smaller scale.

I starve myself to death just to lose weight but i feel sick and don't have energy?
I'm now 180 pounds and i use to be 200 pounds, it seemed like it's really working and i'm really losing weight i lost 20 pounds in a month. I've been eating alot less for month now. I eat only special k cereal for breakfast, and i don't eat anything for 5 hours. So for lunch i just drink a big glass of water, 1 apple and salad or a small peice of peanut butter and jelly sandwich, some fruit and i only drink water for the rest of the day, no juices, no sodas, no nothing. So for 3 hours after that i would only eat no calorie yogurt or fruit. 31. QUESTION:
    Tips for a Workout Guide/Plan?
Ok i am a 15 year old guy who in sophomore year and the year before i weighed a total of 220 lbs and i lost alot of weight and drop down to 145 and now i want to gain weight back but not fat muscle,

i have an Iron Gym pull-up bar and i have someDumbbells and i live very close to a park. i was wondering if you can make me an workout guide. which exercises to do and how, i also have the energy drink Muscle Milk.

and my weight goal is around 180, and i dont want ALOT of muscle i just want to be more lean and cut.

    • ANSWER:
Well you will need a little bit of material for you body to work with if you're going to build muscle.
You're going to gain weight, naturally, because muscle comes with weight.
Your program of eating healthy and working out and will help you gain weight AND muscle.
But you're going to need a good work out plan:
If you're going for a 6 day plan per week, try this.
DAY 1: Conditioning ---> Stairs, aerobic and anaerobic activities like speed ladders and squat jumps in just enough reps that won't kill you. Try adding some light weight to your workout once you get into a routine, but don't strain yourself.

DAY 2: Steady effort ---> Go for a 25-30 minute run so that you get a sweat going. Then after that, in an effort to give attention to each area of your body, try this exercise circuit called "Crunch Club". Crunch Club is a series of crunches and sit-ups that would target your upper and lower abs. I'll put the crunches at the bottom.

DAY 3: Conditioning+Strength ---> You should do your conditioning but with more reps and intensity, make yourself work, if you aren't tired at the end, you might have been taking it too easy. After, if you have access to a weight room or weights, try some upper body workouts like bicep/tricep curls, shoulder shrugs, and also military/bench pressing (make sure you're at a comfortable weight to so that you can do all your reps and you are benefitting from your workout)

DAY 4: More Steady Effort ---> Go for another run, maybe pick up the pace a little. When you're done this time, instead of doing crunch club, try some comfortable stretching and yoga poses. Yoga may sound kinda girlish, but some yoga poses take an incredible amount of strength and flexibility.

DAY 5: Mix it up a bit ---> if you want to try something different and easier to do, try jump roping or steady jumping jacks. Do it for 10 minutes straight. It will be rather difficult but pace yourself. Other things you could do would be: medicine ball throws, wall walks (you put your legs up on a wall with the front of your body and your face facing wall and walk yourself along the wall as long as possible.)

DAY 6: Conditioning ---> Same as DAY 1 .... with and 10 minute cool down run at the end.

CRUNCH CLUB---> #1: legs bent... #2: Right leg crossed over the left leg... #3: Left leg crossed over the right leg... #4: Legs bent in the air... #5: Legs straight up in the air (make sure to get your shoulders and lower back off of the ground)... #6: Straighten out one leg and raise it six inches off the ground and bend your other leg... #7: The opposite of #6... #8: Lemon squeezes (lay flat, then slowly sit up and bring your knees to your chin while keeping your arms and the lower half of your legs parallel to each other)... #9: Butt-ups (lay flat on your back, and kick your butt up off of the ground as high as your legs go. instead of letting your legs fall back towards your face, be sure to make sure they're powering toward the ceiling)... #10: lay flat on your back with your legs flat and sit up as best you can without bending your legs.

Tips for a completing the workout:
Music: if you have an ipod or and Mp3, take it along in the weight room or on your run or during all the workouts to help you pace yourself and to take your mind off of things so that your workout flows easier.
Friends: Find someone to work with you.

You're welcome. This could benefit an athelete for any sport.

  33. QUESTION:
What are my chances of heart issues?
    I'm 16, 180 lbs. 5' 6"
i know im fairly heavy but i have a good amount of muscle there. However the part that makes me worry more is i drink energy drinks a lot. I have one almost every morning when i go to school. However due to my friends i usually drink like 1/4 of it maybe, even less sometimes, but i'd say i always drink half or less. Its usually more of a matter of taste rather then kick i just love them, and i drink tea instead sometimes. I also drink a lot of soda (caffeinated usually) and i've had this pattern going since i think freshman year (2 years ago, im a junior now), though i didn't drink them nearly every day, probably once every couple weeks or so freshman, almost every day since second semester in sophmore year. I know its bad for my health regardless, i know the best idea is to stop it regardless, but i'm curious what the chances are that i'd have heart problems. Any answers are appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
There are two issues here - your weight of which you have been made aware and caffeinated sodas on which I will dwell:

      General--->

      # Caffeine is a chemical that can produce real dependency. Your body becomes acclimated to it, and does not work properly when it's depleted. Take it away, and you go through a physical withdrawal.
      # Caffeine tends to change the pH (acid levels) in the stomach which can lead to stomach upset.
      # Drinking too many sweetened caffeinated drinks could lead to dental cavities (or caries) from the high sugar content and the erosion of tooth enamel from acidity.
      # Caffeine is a diuretic that causes the body to eliminate water (through urinating), which may contribute to dehydration.
      # you can be weakening your bones (they can pull calcium from the bones) and you can be gaining weight, because your whole body is out of balance.

      Cardiovasular(heart etc)---->

Caffeinated drinks increases in blood pressure and heart rate will elevate the risk of stroke and heart disease.

Caffeinated drinks can cause all sorts of damage to your health. Here are just a few of the undesirable side effects of caffeine.

      * The adrenal glands pump out stress hormones that stay elevated for up to 18 hours after consumption
      * The liver releases higher amounts of sugar and fat into the blood stream.
      * The pancreas produces insulin to remove the excess blood sugar and store it as fat.
      * The insulin spikes create a blood sugar roller coaster.
      * Muscle tension is increased.
      * The blood vessels constrict, reducing the flow of oxygen to important areas like your brain (up to 30%) and your extremities.
      * Digestion and the immune system are impaired or suppressed.
      * The production of DHEA and other anti-aging hormones is decreased.
      * Cortisol and other stress hormones are elevated.
      * We lose Calcium and Magnesium by drinking coffee

So, the bottom line is, cut on weight and caffeinated soda. As of now you have not damaged much. It is right time to change.

  34. QUESTION:
P90X nutrition guide? replacement? or substitutions?
Ok, i read the p90x nutrition guide and it's pretty much a hassle
when it talks about how much calories of each type i should consumer fat, proteins, carb etc.
i'm okay with it. but when it mentions what food i should eat... Uh NAH
so my expectations is not to lose weight, I weight 220 right now
and my lowest weight i want to be is 180, no lower, and i'm 5"10
    -----
any way my nutrition meal i'm eating right now
i just eat a couple of fruits, and maybe something little more for breakfast, just a quick fast break. and a sip of lowfat milk XD
for break, i eat like maybe a carrot stick, or some other fruits and a recovery drink
for lunch, i eat salads n maybe some white meat depend on the workout that i'm doing, n something with cheese XD dairy needs
for dinner i eat white meats some red meats, some veggies, .. and if i feel really hungry still, i would stuff myself with water. XD...
i takes multi vitamins pills daily XD. just for personal health improvements
and some time i takes proteins *PILL* just incase i don't feel like i get enough from real food.
I don't like to take any energy booster or energy drink, maybe i'll drink em when i'm really tired or asleep or just because they taste good, but to think that it actually help me with my workout, nah... call me ignorant but whatever.
so is my diet ok? anything need to fix?
plus i'm asian so it's really hard for me to adapt to american food. especially brown rice, nastiest crap ever.

  35. QUESTION:
Do you think this is a heart problem? Sorry its so long.?
for the last 2 and 1/2 weeks or so i've had minor aches in my chest, coughing, and shortness of breath. id say 2-3 times in the last 2 days or so i got this pain in my upper left chest where my should connects and in my fingers on my left arm only, its seemed like i have pulled muscles on my left side. As well as quickly getting out of breath (fast compared to usual). Chest pain has bounced around my chest and neck area. Its most common in my chin (however i have poor dental hygiene, and it could easily be my cavity throbbing) and my chest, however the more noticeable stuff is my left chest and shoulder area (i do have a messed up shoulder from military press and being pressed against the wall when sharing my bed). I am 16, 5' 4" and i weight 180, however im fairly strong (i have plenty of fat but i can bench press 200 pounds and lift a fair amount at other lifts) I had weight lifting for the last 2 years and had to run every day, just a short lap, maybe 100 yards all together. But it was every day, and i do drink a LOT of caffeinated soda and Energy drinks. I eat just about anything a teenager would, fast food etc. however i eat a lot of vegetables compared to most teens as i love nothing more then a few tomatoes with salt as a snack. This is very detailed i know but i wanna cover everything but last year i had an energy drink 5 times a week every week for like months. Well i just went and worked out with my friends, i did as well as ever (considering i hadnt worked out for like 3-4 months) and i got a little short of breath but it wasnt too bad. I have been getting medicine for Post Nasal Drip. My doctor gave me stuff for that saying it was probably the problem, its helped a bit so far but she said it wont kick in for another few days still. When i was there they said everything sounded fine. Hell they said everything looked fine (got an xray for my lungs thinking i had pneumonia or valley fever) im assuming they could see any problems with my heart through that. They said my heart sounded fine. Does this mean i shouldnt worry about my heart? i havent had any heart attack symptoms that couldnt just be asthma. Sorry for the Long paragraph but im kinda worried ya know? thanks you anyone who reads all this and gives me a tip

Well i get abused for being fat in school no one wants to be with me cuz im fat i try to be nice with em but still doesnt work please anyone that can help me with a way to lose some weight i weight 180 pounds around that please help

    • ANSWER:
When you are losing weight, you should exercise and diet together.
If you exercise without dieting, you will get bigger appetite, which
will lead to increase of weight, or muscle grow
underneath the fat layer, and make you bulkier. If you diet without
exercising, you will become flabby and will have excess skin. For
diet, go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food
after 7 p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on
your initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If
you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey
cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your
diet is still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to
calculate points or to buy special meals or plans. For exercising,
start with walking, and then switch to running/jogging. Running is the
most efficient and calorie-burn exercise ever. If you are overweight a
lot, walk first or you may have health complications (heart attack,
disjointed bones and so on). Weight lifting is a good means to target
your problem areas for men and women. It's not necessarily to become a
bodybuilder or even join a gym - a couple of dumbbells will help you
to target your problem areas (stomach, butt, legs, arms, chest).

  37. QUESTION:
Am I burning fat or muscle from running with my current eating situation?
For the past 4 weeks I've been following an exercise routine of 45min of light weights (100lbs or less) plus a 3 1/2km run every other day, and on the opposite days I only run 5km. I have 1 day off a week. I've timed my 5km run at about 23min just in case you're wondering how fast I'm going. Also, when I finish my run, my heartrate is between 180-190bpm for 25years old. Anyways, I've lost about 6.5kg (14.3lbs) in these 4 weeks which is great but am I burning fat or muscle? I started at 83.5kg (183.7lb) and now I'm 77 (169.4lb) and for the past 4 days I've been stuck at 77kg. I really don't care about losing the weight but I want my body fat to go down. After following a website's math to calculate body fat %, my body fat % has gone up if I measured myself correctly. Does this mean I'm losing muscle? My current diet is totally different to what I used to eat before I started all this running. I used to eat tons of crap food in large servings and now I think I'm eating quite healthy but is it hurting my body fat loss goal?

    Breakfast:
Mango + bottle of water or orange juice
    At work:
Energy drink 500ml to get me going for the day followed by more water (1 a day M-F for the past month)
    Lunch:
2 Toasted ham and cheese sandwiches (white bread) with 1 slice processed cheese each. Bottle of water and/or leftover energy drink (I make 500ml last a while)
    After workout/run:
Protein shake 30g protein and 2% milk
    Dinner:
Usually only a large piece of fish
    or
    Chicken breast, onion and salad
    (anything protein packed, low fat)

If you haven't noticed, my carbs are much lower than usual except for the white bread I'm eating. I love carbs but I just don't seem to crave them anymore.

With my diet and exercise regime, would my weight loss be fat, muscle or both? My leg measurements have gone up, my waist is down, upper body is the same as before but my body fat % has seemed to go up according to the math I followed.

What do you recommend I do or are my results pretty good so far?
I drink plenty of water also. Maybe 3-5 litres a day
I live in Australia and the energy drink is called Mother. It has lots of caffeine in it and I can spread a 500ml tall can of that out over a day because even a few sips gets me moving quickly. I don't get jittery unless I drink too much of it too fast and I realize the symptoms. Thats when I put it down and swap it for water.

    • ANSWER:
Yes, you have lost muscle, because you are consuming far too little protein.

You need around 150 grams protein per day. You're not getting anywhere close to that.

For breakfast, eat enough cottage cheese or eggs to get 25-30 grams of protein. Fruit and whole grains on the side

Mid-morning snack: any kind of food/drink with 25-30 grams protein, some nuts and/or vegetables on the side

Lunch: 30-35 grams protein, with some vegetables and whole grains or legumes

Mid-afternoon snack: your post workout shake

Dinner 30-35 grams protein, vegetables, legumes

  38. QUESTION:
What Benefits Would Eating A Lot More Vegetables Have?
Well, I am a male and 16 years old (1 month til 17), i weigh 68 kg and i am about 180 cm tall. and everyday for the last year i have been doing push ups and sit ups and on occasions i go for a run. My muscles are not very defined though. I mean, i am a hell of a lot stronger than what i used to be, but you can not really see it physically, mainly because i have got like 1 cm of fat as a layer over my muscles and its annoying as hell.

I drink about 1 glass of water every 2 days on average (i know its beyond bad lol). I drink A LOT of energy drinks (I know this is bad too) and i hardly ever eat vedge, in fact i do not eat much at all, some times i don't eat for a day or so (just not always hungry). But i heard eating vedge and drinking water can help muscles and lose weight, is it true?

BTW i get extremely bloated and find it very hard to do number 2's.

    • ANSWER:
You can't gain muscles if you don't have any fat. You need to eat more to gain the weight to turn the weight into muscle which will give you a more defined look.

also, drink tons more water. gotta keep hydrated!!

  39. QUESTION:
    Questions about my heart.?
i have been sick for a couple weeks now, went to see the doc they used a stethoscope and said my heart sounded fine and i got an xray of my chest (for my lungs) but they said everything looked good although i dont know if they would have seen my heart on that). However whenever i eat i start coughing (no blood) and occasionally ill get a pain in my shoulder although its closer to my shoulder blades/back then my arm pit. I get pains all through out the day in this area and it can be attributed to my shoulder injury (not sure what it is but im pretty sure i hurt something a while back) and well im wondering, are these signs i should get my heart checked? if so should i just ask my GP if they know a good cardiologist i could see. I should also mention im only 16 but i use to drink a lot of energy drinks and caffeinated soda. As well as coffee. I Also am a tad overweight (im 180 at 5' 4" with a 200 lb. bench press max, so theres muscle there too, i lift a fair amount in other exercises but thats my golden lift). My shoulders could just be hurt from messing them up in the past doing behind the head military press.
alright thanks guys, i do have allergies but im not sure what if any foods im allergic too. Its coughing but its not too bad and honestly ive been coughing for months and have asthma too. They said the coughing is probably post nasal drip as a result of allergies and asthma. I might have been over doing it but i only lifted in class and i made sure that i regulated my schedule and didnt over do it as far as weight is but that military press was said to be dangerous and can injure you which i didnt know till after i had done it. I'll try taking the ibuprofen like you said. thanks for the opinions guys. ^_^

    • ANSWER:
Unless you have been diagnosed with heart problems, at age 16, all of this is probably muscular in origin and taking some ibuprofen for the next week regularly as directed on the box will probably make all of this go away. There are very few 16 year olds that need the help of a cardiologist. Your family physician can evaluate this and treat it appropriately.

  40. QUESTION:
Sound like Diabetes or Thyroid issue?
    Hi,

I've had a number of changes in my body over the past year or two. I smoked marijuana and cigarettes heavily for a while, but had to stop because I felt hungry all of the time, and the way I feel in general has changed. I have adult ADD, as well. It's just become a struggle.

Here are the symptoms that I experience on a regular basis...

Always hungry, or full for a short period of time. I wake up hungry, to the point where I'm nearly throwing up, every, single, day. I cannot take this aspect anymore.

I feel fatigued regularly. I've always felt fatigue, and being distracted constantly and unable to really do much doesn't help with the whole restless feeling.

Sugars and energy drinks really perk me up, and a chocolate bar can even at times increase my mood. I can feel the effects basically but I don't eat chocolate all that much so I don't know if it's just the effects of sugar. I drink soft drinks a lot. When I wake up hungry I sometimes have this bubbly acid feeling in my throat. Not acid reflux, it's not painful at all. I've only had reflux like 3 times before.

I have a poor muscle tone and have always found it hard to gain weight. I was 6'2, 150 pounds in High School...heh, and now I'm nearly 180, 6'4, so I'm normal now, but I find that I lose it way faster than I gain it, and I can't build up my arms at all, no matter if I eat or work out, I really don't see improvements.

Also, my vision has had periods of blurriness at times in the past few months, which is what made me think it was diabeties at first but I do where contacts, though only at work, and the blurriness happens at home.

I hardly sweat, I'm pale, and I've felt depressed and drained the entire winter, more so than ever.

    • ANSWER:

  41. QUESTION:
    smoking/monster/weight ....PLEASE HELP ME!?
okay, so im 16 years old...and i weigh about 180. I should be about 110. But with depression ive got im only gaining! Ive also got social anxiety. I drink any where between 4 monsters, and 3 french vinilla cap. and 2 nos everyday. Its the only thing that eases anxity for me. I also binge. all the time then dont eat for 2-3 days. I smoke 2 colts OR 3 p.ts OR 3 DU Maurier a day. I take prozac 10mg.

How can i lose weight, if i dont eat and just take LOTS of vitemines, and drink the energy drinks will i lose weight? How can i quit smoking? please help!!

    • ANSWER:
You need to see a doctor or some type of therapist to help with your anxiety. Energy drinks are just giving your body excess energy that u are not burning off/using so the sugar turns to fat.
Hmm.. smoking. Smoking doesnt help with your weight. Why not try the chewing gum or calling the quit line to ask for them to help motivate you. Im 17 and dont smoke, I hate it, so I cant imagine you doing.. you should stop while your still young.
You have to eat, its not gunna help u lose weight coz u will eventually give in and continue eating bad and getting back into the same cycle. Eat healthy foods like fruit and vegetables and in between meals chew gum or eat mints. Taking lots of vitamins isnt gunna help u loose weight AT ALL. If you take unneeded vitamins it can actually damage your body..
      hope this helps.

    • ANSWER:
If you are Irish, you should have access to Slimming World and I think under 16's can join free with an adult. They have a very healthy plan which does not exclude food groups and allows you to have small amounts of high calorie food everyday. Check www.slimmingworld.com I have lost 2stone 2lb from June and my friend has lost 2stone 3lb from September. Even if you cant join a group, have look at their free 7 day trial and follow it. You will lose 3-4lb in the first week (ps I dont think you are really fat at that weight for your height)

  43. QUESTION:
Should I be concerned about my already-skinny stepmother's unending quest to be thinner?
My stepmom is already thin. People comment on it all the time with worry in their voices. She's always been thin, yet she will not be convinced that she doesn't need to lose weight. In the 15 years I've known her, she has not stopped counting calories, avoiding carbs, taking up fad diets (South Beach, Atkins, Weight Watchers, Master Cleanse, etc., etc.), and skipping meals altogether. Our refrigerator contains nothing but low-fat / fat-free / diet / low-calorie / 0-calorie / negative-calorie products. Now, just a few days ago, I found something that really sent up a red flag: a stash of appetite suppressants and diet pills that fills a kitchen drawer and two cupboards. It includes:

-"Quick Boost" Energy Drink Mix / Dietary Supplement from Quick Weight Loss Center (24 boxes, each containing 14 units)

-"Herbal-Slim Lite" from Quick Weight Loss Center (3 bottles, each containing 180 capsules)

-"EFA" Essential Fatty Acid Dietary Supplement from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 120 capsules)

-"Carb Blocker" from Quick Loss Weight Center (8 bottles, each containing 90 capsules)

-"Herbal-Slim Metabolizer" from Quick Loss Weight Center (4 bottles, each containing 180 capsules)

-"15-Day Weight Loss Cleanse & Flush" (1 bottle containing 60 capsules)

-"Fücothin" Concentrated Fucoxanthin (1 bottle containing 60 capsules)

-"Zenergize: Burn" Natural Weight Loss Boost (2 boxes, each containing 10 units)

-"Naturalean Complete: Trim Effects Crave Control Formula" (1 bottle containing 100 capsules)

-"Glycotrol" from the Houston Weight Loss & Lipo Center (2 bottles, each containing about 50 pills)

-"Slim Shots" Liquid Appetite Controller (1 box containing 30 shots)

I hope my stepmother is not taking all of these products concurrently. It appears that she's at least sampled each one, and worked her way through many of them. A quick glance over these products reveals that few, if any, are FDA-approved. "Slim Shots" claims that four separate studies point to the efficacy of their product, but I can't find any of these studies published anywhere. The claims of some of the other products (e.g. Fücothin) seem to be based on results of preliminary studies that have not yet been replicated. And although they all claim to be "all-natural" and "chemical-free," they seem to have effects on the body that could still be dangerous: altering the pancreas' absorption capacity, changing the body's base metabolic rate, making the body feel full when it is actually hungry, etc. And isn't GlycoTrol intended for people with diabetes? I know my stepmother is not diabetic.

The worst part is that my sister and stepsister, both teenagers, have learned that the compulsive quest for thinness is completely normal and that taking supplements for weight loss is nothing unusual. My sister, who is 19 and perfectly thin, berated me today after I criticized her for taking Sim Shots. She claims to have her own sizable stash in her room somewhere.

Am I making a big deal out of nothing, or is there cause for legitimate concern here? Is this grounds for some sort of intervention? Should I talk to my doctor?
I should probably add that I've heard through the family grapevine that my stepmother has suffered from eating disorders as a teenager and young woman.

    • ANSWER:
Hi, thats so wonderful that you are concerned about her. I definitely would be as well. My parents are both in the medical field so I know a bit myself about these sort of things. I would suggest first going to the person with the most sway over your stepmom and get them to talk to her about the very serious potenial health problems that could arrise from what shes doing. Talking to a doctor is by no means a bad thing to do. If it means the health of your stepmom, I would suggest arranging a meeting with your stepmom, her doctor, and possibly yourself if the doctor needs someone from the outside of her problem to give their opinion...
      i hope this helps.

  44. QUESTION:
What kind of protein shakes should I drink if I do a lot of cardio?
I am 26 and run about twice a day Mon-Sat (4 to 5 miles each set)(Day and Night together = 8 to 10 miles total). I am 5'11 and weigh 190 at the moment. I started cardio when I weighed 210. I have lost 20lbs so far in these past two months and my goal weight is 180. I am pretty much tired of snacking on small things and don't know what kind of meal replacements I should have or if I even need protein shakes. Everything is working out for me and I am getting in shape but, I can feel my leg muscles and energy to kind of stress. Do I even need protein? I'll be honest about what I mainly eat. Turkey ham, salad, cereals, 1% milk, and mainly water everyday. Am I missing anything? I just wanna feel active and proud to wake up excited to do a run everyday! And If I run twice a day, may I have foods that I am rejecting? Or am I doing good rejecting the fat foods I love? What should I buy to prevent stressed muscles from cardio and to give me energy? Sorry for the long description but I know any replies to this will help many others out in the future! Thanks for any help! : )

  45. QUESTION:
    Changing eating habits and lifetstyle?
So I have always battled with weight, I have always been a big guy (currently 6'2" 335 lbs) and I have terrible habits, such as 1-2 Monster energy drinks a day, almost a pack of cigarettes a day, and dinner normally consist of eating out at Italian or Burger joints, or frozen/fried foods at home. Up til about 6 weeks ago, I was walking about 4 times a week, 90-120 minutes a night while taking Xenadrine (sp?) and completely gave up soda (was drinking about 6-8 Dr Peppers a day) and still off it and actually did lose about 20 pounds over the course of a couple of months, but have not consistently walked for a few weeks.

After a doctor visit this morning, i do have high blood pressure and obviously overweight. Needless to say, my lifestyle needs a complete 180 ...I know I need to exercise more, stop smoking and stop with the energy drinks and that will make the biggest difference, but I get easily discourage if I do not see an immediate difference and need something (routine/particular food) that will reveal a visible difference.

Outside of stopping the energy drinks, exercising more and eating more foods with less salts and sugars ...what else can be done? I feel like there is something else that can be done ...

Thank you for taking the time!

  47. QUESTION:
I am addicted to caffeine, how to I stop?
I'm a 19 year old male. I weigh 180 lbs. I lift weights and do 45 minutes of cario, burning up to 450 calories a day. 5-7 days a week. Caffeine makes it impossible for me to take naps because it increases my heart-rate and i feel like I'm about to have a heart attack. I try to stop drinking caffeine but so far its been nigh impossible. I get the shakes, a headache, can't stay awake and I can't function without it. Please if there are any sites or tips to help me get started, I would like to stop drinking all energy drinks and other caffeine related products. ESPECIALLY COFFEE. I cannot ignore that my health is at risk, I don't want to risk damage to my heart that may occur during one of these failed naps.

    • ANSWER:
I would suggest, decrease your caffeine intake gradually. For ex. in the morning if you need a big cup of coffee, now decrease it to 80% or so. go on like this for a week, the next week decrease it further. Do so for the entire days' coffee intake. don't just stop, decrease gradually, fool your body.

  48. QUESTION:
Losing around 10 pounds in two weeks, suggestions for a fitness plan...?
Hey, I am a 15 year old male. I have been losing weight pretty steadily now for the past few months as I used to be extremely overweight. The highest I ever got to was about 230 pounds (yeah, I know). My stats are below:

    Current weight - 200 pounds
    Current height - 5 feet 10.5 inches.

I can thank my height for not making me look like as bad as you might imagine. My goal someday within the next two to three months is to get down to 180 as this would be a healthy, permanent weight. What I am looking for from you guys/gals is a healthy, high-energy diet, well more like suggestions and tips, for the next few weeks to lose the most amount possible. I don't "absolutely" need to loose 10 pounds, but I would like to loose at least 6-8 pounds.

I have started biking everyday for 3 miles and I am clocking in at just under 14 and 1/2 minutes. I was planning on doubling my route and doing 6 miles. So, any tips on food and (high-energy or regular) drinks? Running out of room! agh!

    • ANSWER:
Firstly congratulations on your weight loss so far. Getting into regular exercise is going to help you maintain the loss.
There is no healthy way to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks and high energy food is the opposite of what you need to lose weight. You need filling, healthy, low energy (low GI) food - like veggies, fruits, wholegrain cereals and breads, and lean meats or meat substitutes. These will help you to feel full longer, gives you a continuous flow of energy, and helps keep you away from snacking. And you need to lose it gradually, with a sustainable diet and healthy exercise, no more than 1 pound per week, if you want to keep it off long term.
For the munchies you can try carrot and celery sticks, plain popcorn, and rice crackers (baked not fried).
Main meals try a salad with low fat/no fat dressings and a serve of lean protein (grilled chicken). Or wholemeal pasta and a veggie sauce.
Limit amounts of fried foods (to once in a while), cheeses, full fat milk, and keep butter and oils to a minimum.
And don't forget to drink water, it helps you feel full, it hydrates you (some times we interpret feeling thirsty as hungry), and helps the body flush out all the stuff the exercise is burning off.
Do all this and what your doing with regards to exercise, and you have a good chance of reaching your goals and staying there.

  49. QUESTION:
    Starving myself, not working. help?
I try to eat less than 200 calories everyday but why havent i lose weight?
I lose weight than i gain weight then lose again and gain its like that.
I eat half a energy bar about 180 cals( the whole bar) for breakfast and the another half for dinner.
And drink a lot of water. But im not lossing any weigh.. Why is that ?!

    • ANSWER:
Sorry to Break it to You, Starving yourself NEVER works ! It actually makes it EASIER to gain weight because your Metabolism is getting slower so instead of Burning all those Calories your making it so that all those Calories become Fat. Every girl (including me) has tried this before & it NEVER lasts ! I starved myself for a Week on eating Granola bars & drinking Water & I lost 7lbs in a week , but I ate a FRUIT & I gain all that weight back in a week.

If you really want to lose weight. Make your own Diet plan that is Healthy & WORKS for you. I made my own & lost 20lbs already. I replaced Whole Milk w/ Fat Free Milk. And I stopped drinking Soda. I also add Fruit or a Granola to my meals & I do 30-45 minutes of Cardio a day. MAybe you should try the same.

  50. QUESTION:
I need help with my weight...please help..I'm desperate?
Ok so I weigh 220 pounds and I'm 6'1 and 15 years old. I dont look fat. I'm more built then fat, but still i have fat on my body and I want to get rid of that. My goal weight is 180 pounds. I have alot of fat on my belly. I hit the gym about 3 days a week and 2 days for kickboxing. So I was wondering if i take boxing two days a week and two days for kickboxing and 3 days at the gym. Will i lose body fat?. I mean kickboxing and boxing are intense trainings and we make puddles on the ground from sweat. We do alot of stomach exercises like situps, crunches, leg raises. etc. And we jump rope for about 20 minutes. So I need as many tips as I can get to lose body fat. Also if sitting in a sauna room will help. I'm a Indo-Canadian male so I cant have these special dieting meals everyday, and I have school. I drink a monster energy almost every lunch time and I'm wondering if I should stop. I'm jus tired of having that bloat feeling. Even loosing just 10 pounds I will be greatful. I just want to lose some weight and feel better about myself. I also take whey protien before my workouts and Krush4 Creatine after and i gained 10 pounds from that. So I think I should stop taking them because I don't want to add weight. I want to lose it. So if anyone out there knows quick tips on how to lose body fat..thank you.

    • ANSWER:
Well one thing is not to drink the monster. It is affecting you. And try running. When your watching Tv try doing extra sit-ups. Also I know that this might sound weird but wearing a belt will make it so your stomach will not pooch out when you are working out. Just a tip.
