Alcoholic Energy Drinks Brands

Feelings of self-loathing, fear and helplessness are only some of the emotions that accompany the alcoholic in his unhappy state. An alcoholic has no control, or not enough control, over his own emotions. It can happen that the drinker is unable to cope, emotionally, with the world, and may use other negative emotions - such as blame - to cope.

The alcohol is a way to numb feelings, but unfortunately it only works in the short term. The use of alcohol only adds to the feelings of failure and self-pity, which of course reinforces the need to drink. In the long term, alcohol addiction makes the problem grow steadily worse in a vicious cycle, because it simply hides the problem instead of solving it.

For the alcoholic to get free of the addiction, it becomes vital to take back control. Without control, he has no reason (in his perception) to change. But, when he has learned how to take charge of his own emotional and mental state - something that even many non-alcoholics find hard - then there is an excellent chance of lasting change.

And how can this be done? How can the alcoholic learn to take charge of his own mind and learn how to stop drinking alcohol and have a good time instead? The mere idea that this is possible will seem preposterous to a typical alcoholic, who is so wrapped in his own misery and self-shame that he cannot see the possibilities.

The trick is to learn certain mental skills. The right types of mental skills allow the alcoholic to change the way that he or she unconsciously views the world. It changes, sometimes subtly and sometimes hugely, the way that this person thinks and feels about things, and what he says to himself.

These skills, fortunately, are easy to learn and practice.

There are several different "styles" of mental skills that can be learned. Some examples are EFT (emotional freedom technique), NLP (neurolinguistic programming) and hypnosis.

Whilst therapists will "do" the work on the alcoholic, all of them should teach the skills for self-application. For example, self-hypnosis is easy to learn and do. Learning to use these skills for himself gives the alcoholic both the ability and the responsibility of getting better.

In other words, it gives back control to the sufferer.

With persistence and practice, and help from therapists, the alcoholic can learn to take back control and start to choose a better way to live.

Skateboarding is just something I can do whenever I want to. It's a sport and it provides me with some sort of happiness. Not to mention I have fun whenever I'm skating a spot with my friends. Sure, we get kicked out by security but that's all in the name of fun. I think that 'rebel skaters' are retards and should not be able to live in this world. They talk shit all the time and should learn to respect.

No I do not think that the stereotypical image of a skateboarder is fair. I mean, there are people like that but those are mainly posers that just want to be cool or to fit in. But I could care less about what others think because I'm doing what I like and they can go do whatever they want.

I want to be respected as a person, but if I had to pick one, I'll pick an artist because I don't like sports very much, skateboarding is just an exception.

  4. QUESTION:
Why is the U.S. solution for any drug that may potentially harm "public health" to ban it?
It just seems U.S. drug policy is actually perpetuating the creation of new (usually more harmful) substitutes to take the place of drugs that were available before. For instance: A ban on real marijuana (which occurs naturally) leads to the creation of synthetics that are currently legal (and have way more unpredictable side effects). When the U.S. tried to crack down on cocaine use (which caused the price to go through the roof) people responded by using more methamphetamine (which can be made using basic drug store ingredients). Then the U.S. made Sudafed harder to get and the people making the meth just started using common household kitchen products.

Isn't this policy counterproductive to a large degree? Considering the reasoning behind these bans hinges on the argument of protecting "public health".... Wouldn't it be simpler and cheaper to just treat junkies? Then educate the public on the real effects of hard drug use?

A 23.5-ounce can of Four Loko, a fruity, caffeinated malt liquor, has an alcohol content of 12%, equivalent to drinking four to six beers. The caffeine can also suppress the effects of alcohol, which can make someone drink more than usual.

Washington state's attorney general immediately called for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to ban the drinks. A proposed state ban died earlier this year in the Legislature.

    http://kosu.org/2010/02/bill-would-ban-synthetic-marijuana/

Local law enforcement officials and Oklahoma’s Bureau of Narcotics are constantly fighting new drugs. From meth to prescription pills, it’s an uphill battle to keep these substances off the streets. Now state officials are bracing for another drug called “spice” or “K2” – a synthetic form of marijuana popular in Oklahoma’s neighbor to the north.

K2 is the Kansas brand of manufactured marijuana. Kansas police officers first learned of the synthetic form of pot this past fall. It’s legally sold as incense and undetectable on a basic drug test. Marketed as “spice” in Europe, it produces the same high as regular marijuana, and now it’s spreading in the states. Jeremy Morris is a forensic scientist at the Johnson County crime lab in Mission, Kansas.
It just seem odd that the U.S. spends so much time and resources on a war on drugs yet they still have the highest user rates in the whole world. In contrast, Portugal has decriminalized hard drug use and user rates dropped in every category.

@pamcarter........"If it's potentially harmful to public health (pharmagologicals) they should be banned."

In that case, alcohol should DEFINITELY be illegal, correct? (If we're being consistent). Also, I'm positive the FDA has never done a comprehensive study on the effects of marijuana. I can guarantee it is no more harmful than alcohol. U.S. drug laws are the definition of hypocrisy paired ignorance.

    • ANSWER:
Harmful? is there a level of harmfulness for drugs or what? Because last time I checked cigarettes and alcohol are harmful to the public if they are so concerned about "Public Health" why aren't they baned as well?

It's the people's choice whether to do drugs or not, the government should just put a "Government Warning" on all drugs, Tax it, and butt out of people's business.

    Non-alcoholic beer in Islamic countries

Islam prohibits the consumption of alcoholic beverages,[21] Although the Hanafi school of Islam, which accounts for around 40% of Muslims, does not prohibit ethanol, but intoxication, based on a different interpretation of the operative word, khamr, although the other three schools prohibit both ethanol and intoxication. One of the two great scholars of the Hanafi school, Abu Yusuf, drank a mildly alcoholic malt beverage, which was at the time used to provide energy.[22] However, there is disagreement among scholars of Islam about the consumption of non-alcoholic beer.[23]
Possibly because of this disagreement, alcohol-free (0% ABV) beers, (e.g. Holsten, Barbican and Moussy) are often available in stores and restaurants that cater to an Islamic customer base. They are also popular in countries that enforce alcohol prohibition, such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Iran. They are often available with added flavors (apple, strawberry, and peach).

    • ANSWER:
Sorry to break the news to you, but...

it is physically impossible to remove all the alcohol from anything.
Any food that would contain sugar or carbohydrate (and that means anything: meat, bread, fruits and vegetable, everything but pure distilled water and salt) is likely to undergo some chemical reaction that converts some of the molecule into alcohol.
If your religion insist on you being totally alcohol free, you will starve a die.

  7. QUESTION:
Can I have some insight about urinating often after drinking beer?
I know why it happens, alcohol inhibits ADH causing a person to urinate more often. I'll quote Terry O's Answer:

"Taking diuretics, such as caffeine or beer, will cause the kidneys to expel water rapidly, and as a result will often leave you dehydrated and with a low level of energy"

My question is, why is it that when I'm out drinking with friends, I'm the only one going too often to the toilet, I think it's every 20 minutes or so, we drink the same brand of beer but I can count the number of times either one of them go to the toilet, it's kind of embarassing, some of them even thought that I had a urinary infection, but I don't think so, because I know there has to be some pain associated to it and I don't feel anything, and this only happens when I drink beer; so water and non-alcoholic beverages don't have this effect on me.

Can someone please explain that to me?

    • ANSWER:
As far as i know, what is happening to you is the norm.

Maybe your friend's body systems are malfunctioning or adjusted to the constant stimulus of the diuretics. New drinker will react differently from chronic drinker, just as new smoker will cough when the old ones don't. Have you ever compared yourself with your friends in terms of how long have they been drinking, the total amount they have been drinking, etc? Somehow i think you have relatively healthier lifestyle than your friends do.

Alcohol do more harm than good. There are so many diseases (divorces, unemployments, and road accidents) associated with alcohol(ism). It's better to avoid it before you are addicted to it.

      I hope it helps.
