  I suppose I'm an interesting case study in long term energy drink use. I've had two Rockstars almost daily now for about 6 years. So far blood tests (unrelated to drinking energy drinks) show that I have excellent cholesterol levels, excellent bp, average heart rate of about 65. No obvious side effects from use except for caffeine dependency. That's the big problem with caffeinated drinks, whether coffee, energy drinks etc. You develop a tolerance and then it no longer has a boosting effect. It's just what's needed to get you back to "normal."
  
  I'm currently cutting back from energy drinks to one every two days, simply to help cut bad calories from my diet. The amount of sugar in an energy drink is not that high by the way, no higher than soda or even grape juice.
  
  If you're having one every day, I'd recommend cutting back to maybe every other day. At the very least, avoid upping your intake. At one point I was hitting about 800mg of caffeine daily, and i wasn't feeling energy at all. I've had energy everything, from pills like Stacker to energy patches to just isolated pure caffeine. I actually have shelves on my wall of all the different energy drinks I've tried. I'm at about 150. If you can, try and switch over to a good coffee. Gives you the caffeine, has documented health benefits, and no calories.
  
  Don't believe the tv doctors that say energy drinks are gonna kill you. They won't, anymore than a soda and a cup of coffee. Many on here will say otherwise, but that's because they speak based on what they've heard or read. We live in a society with extremely sensationalist media. I speak from experience. The key is moderation, as with anything.

  It's still around. In fact, pepsi just expanded their Amp line to include sugar free and a few other new varieties. They changed the labels a bit on the original ones and they're more or less relaunching the brand.
  
  When a company does this, it's not uncommon for them to run out of the old product before they get the new stuff in. I'm guessing that where you live, your pepsi distributor is out of stock on it and waiting for their shipments of the new flavors and new packaging to come in.

Doctors are now saying that anyone who uses a lot of sugar runs the risk of developing diabetes, so I would keep this in mind before I drank too many energy drinks. Caffeine can hinder the body's ability to process sugar also. I'd say that if you are normal, and don't have diabetes, one or two of these drinks to help you make it through until you can get to sleep would be ok occasionally. hope this helps

  One won't kill you but since it's an energy drink it can make you dehydrated and hyper, and goes right through you (usually as pee; but if you drink too much it can also come out as diarrhea and even puke, so be careful). Also, it keeps you up so it is only useful to wake you up. Don't drink it at night unless you need to stay up to study, work, drive, etc.
