Booster Energy Drink

The natural health researchers at I 00004000 nstitute for Vibrant Living (IVL) have investigated the natural remedies available for low energy levels. Here is their report:

Many natural-health supplements on the market focus on boosting energy levels by infusing the body with nutrients. Take a look at three healthy drinks available from the Institute for Vibrant Living that may power up your nutrition and boost your energy levels.

All Day Energy Greens: This is an ultra-healthy supplemental drink containing 38 herbs, herbal extracts and grass juices. One serving of All Day Energy Greens provides more nutrition than five servings of fruits and vegetables with less calories and carbohydrates, making it easier to digest! As a result, the body efficiently absorbs all the nutrients it needs for day-long energy.

This product has an alkalizing effect on the body, literally carrying away acids and eliminating them through the kidneys. Ridding the body of acids and toxins offers many health benefits including improved digestion, reduction in food cravings, fat loss, muscle gain and of course, replenished energy. With use of this product, one may experience improved strength and stamina in as little as 30 days.

Go Ruby Go: Packed with powerful concentrated fruit extracts, this healthy drink may help to purify the blood, detoxify the body and boost energy levels. Phytochemicals found in fruits offer antibacterial and anti-fungal benefits and help reduce inflammation and tumors in the body.

The extracts in Go Ruby Go are certified to be free of pesticides and herbicides and there are no dyes or irradiated ingredients. Super-healthy, unpolluted ingredients and great taste make Go Ruby Go unlike any other supplemental drink on the market.

Benefits that may be enjoyed with regular use of Go Ruby Go include enhancement of skin tone and complexion, better weight management and muscle tone, improved digestion and regularity, enhanced circulation and mobility, sharper brain focus and a boost in energy levels which will have you meeting each day with zest and vigor!

Green Tea Elixir: A potent combination of five healthful ingredients, this drink provides the body with nearly all of the antioxidants it needs. With a pleasant, sweet taste it can be added to any hot or cold beverage. Take a look at the benefits offered by ingredients found in Green Tea Elixir.

Green Tea Leaf Extract - Among a host of healthy properties, the tannins found in green tea leaves aid in the absorption of bad cholesterol and inhibit oxidation in the body, which is a leading cause of cell destruction and mutation.

Magic Fruit - Used by the Chinese for over 1,000 years, magic fruit is roughly 250 times sweeter than sugar with no calories! It has been used in Chinese medicine for the treatment of colds, sore throats and dry lungs. Magic fruit reduces phlegm and helps to eliminate stomach upset and constipation.

Hibiscus - This plant is used in Chinese medicine to combat high blood pressure and liver ailments. With a tart, berry-like flavor, hibiscus contains many of the same potent antioxidants found in red wine. These antioxidants are believed to help lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease and hypertension.

Rose Hips - Known for their delicate flavor, rose hips are grown throughout the world and are a rich source of vitamin C. They are often used as a remedy for headaches and as a natural laxative and diuretic. Rose hip oil has been used as a treatment for burns and scars and is a well-known moisturizer, which helps to inhibit premature aging of the skin.

Pomegranate - With antibacterial and antiviral properties, this tart and tangy fruit has been eaten by people in Asia and the Middle East since biblical times. Pomegranate is known to ignite the production of nitric oxide in the body, which helps prevent hypertension and heart disease by relaxing the blood vessels. An excellent source of ellagic acid, pomegranate may also inhibit cell damage in the body.

With the world operating at what can seem like a break-neck pace, increased energy is a common want for many people. Whether it is extra grit needed for completion of a tough work assignment or a bit more zip for getting through each day, we all occasionally wish we had more get-up-and-go.

You might want to make sure you're not experiencing signs of sleep deprivation, but also checking your hormones will help rule out any underlying problems.

Simple solutions include eating properly, regular sleep cycles as well as exercise.

If you're still looking for that little bit of extra boost and you enjoy coffee you may want to take a look at BSkinny Coffee. It is a coffee with Buffered Caffeine that creates and sustains a higher level of energy for an extended period than that of regular coffee. You can read on the clinical studies on the link below.

We hope this helps and keep that mug raised.

  12. QUESTION:
whats a good energy booster like a bar or gel or drink etc. to take before a workout? (mostly weight lifting)?
nothing too expensive like a powder from gnc, and not a five hour energy because i dont want energy for five hours, just something that works really great.

    • ANSWER:
I would say eating energy bars, or protein bars, and eat about a half hour before you start. Therefore you body has already digested the protein and sugars, and that will help maintain some energy. Also drinking water will help with maintaining that energy while you are working out, and before you are working out. Energy drinks are a gimmick, unless if your drinking protein drinks, or fruit beverages with Vitamin C and Calcium, and you have to keep in mind there is really no quick fix, just go the natural way. Eat healthy foods, with protein.

Also doing stretches before and after you workout would be very helpful. It would also help prevent injury.

Would you like to be the first kid on your block to be buried in a box?

  15. QUESTION:
Is 5 Hour Energy a healthy energy drink?
The active ingredients include about 500% vitamin B6, 3000% vitamin B12, Taurine, and some other things. I had one for the first time yesterday and about 2 hours afterwards I had a few hot flashes and then about 3 - 5 hours afterwards I felt like working out. I actually broke my record doing push-ups? Does anyone know anything about this energy booster?

    • ANSWER:
It isn't as bad for you as the other energy drinks tend to be but it is not quite the best. The best one that I have tried is called Blue-Rez and is similar to 5 hour energy but has a major advantage. It has resveritral and blueberry extract. If you don't know about resveritral do a search on resveritral and 60 minutes to see a report they did early last year. Resveritral is in the skin of grapes and is what makes red wine so good for you. If you want to try some go to livinity.com/harris and click on products and then blue-rez.

  16. QUESTION:
What is the best, healthiest, energy drink I can use right before working out?
I always love an energy booster before going to the gym.

    • ANSWER:
Water. Energy drinks have too much sugar and just give a false sense of energy. Your body needs water to hydrate itself, sugar in energy drinks just dehydrate you which can be a big problem after a strenuous workout. Flavor your water with some lemon juice if you need to.

  17. QUESTION:
Can I use a pre-workout supplement as an energy booster/study aid?
I have midterms this week and was wondering if I could use my pre-workout supps (jack3d, RAVAGE) as an energy booster/ study aid / focus booster...as in, is it really that bad to take if you are not really exerting yourself physically? I hate energy drinks and coffee doesnt do anything for me.....and get regular amounts of sleep...but studying just makes me tired....

    Thanks.

    • ANSWER:
I have done that before, it's like taking an energy drink such as red bull. The only thing to watch out, is that these products are heavy on stimulants and might cause you an opposite effect such as crashing. Some people also report being too hyper to focus and not being able to concentrate. So, give it a shot and see how it works for you.

  18. QUESTION:
    Energy booster for diabetic?
I'm looking for an energy booster to eat/drink during the day, but I am diabetic. As in, I have to avoid sugars and caffeine, so please don't recommend a candy bar or frappacino. Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
You need something that burns slowly and won't spike your blood sugar, which you know. Whole grains work, for example whole wheat sandwich with reduced fat peanut butter. Or whole grain crackers with reduced fat cheese. Low fat, light yogurt. A couple graham crackers with a glass of low fat milk. A dish of oatmeal with some fruit. Lower fat granola bars. Also drink plenty of water so you don't get dehydrated and feel more tired.

  19. QUESTION:
    What's the best energy booster?
I have an early an early morning class & need something to wake me up. Preferably not caffeinated(i live in AZ & can't afford to get dehydrated) or an energy drink. Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
Try XS energy drinks. I would suggest their caffeine-free flavors. The reason I suggest these are because they have no sugar, and no carbs. They also have a large amount of B12 vitamins which will get you energy without the crash after 2 hours.

  20. QUESTION:
Can energy drinks make you retarded?
I have been really sleep-deprived recently because of midterms... so as a "solution" I drank an energy booster called "mochatonix."

I couldn't think clearly after drinking this, and ended up not doing so well on the exams. Yes, I was alert, but my brain was not functioning properly. And although it's been over a week since the midterms are over, I STILL can't think clearly.

I am convinced that the drink had lowered my IQ. Is there any way to solve this problem? Please help.

    • ANSWER:
I drink them a lot and I feel more focused. You're probably not used to that much caffeine though. And to be honest, who KNOWS what else they put in those drinks..

  21. QUESTION:
Which energy drink is best to take?....?
I work a 10 hour shift... and sometimes I do feel like I'm dragging my pace at work... So the other day I took an energy drink called Rockstar.... I took it around 12 in the afternoon.. at first I was full of energy!! I felt great!!!! But then like 3 hours later!! I felt like crap!!! Zombie like! does anybody know which energy drink I should use... Which one last longer... Or if there is another method of energy booster I could use so I could get through my 10 hours at work?!! thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Rather than drink the entire can in one sitting, I wait until I get tired, then take little zip, through out the day. It gives you more energy. I like mountain dew AMP. It almost gives you wings

  22. QUESTION:
    Crunk!!! Energy Drink Question??
Well I'm 14, and I want to try this stuff out. It actually sounded pretty good, what with the pomegranite juice and all. But anyways, I was looking at the ingredients for this drink on Wikipedia, and I came across something that has me worried about trying it. (if you skim over the article, you will know exactly what I'm talking about). I have no idea what this ingredient is or what it does, and I'm not sure if I should be drinking it. So is it safe for me to drink Crunk!!! Energy Drink? And also, is that weird ingredient just an energy booster? Or . . . something else?
It would be the latter of Bear Master's answer that had me worried. And what does that herb do, exactly?
Thanks for the answers, guys. :) Ok so now I know what the goatweed is, but it wouldn't happen to . . . inappropriately stimulate me, would it?

    • ANSWER:
I've never tried the stuff but can tell you there is no harmful ingredients I see. It's all just vitamins and herbs.

I don't know if it was the skullcap or hornygoatweed that had you worried but both are safe herbs sold over the counter.

Hornygoat weed is an herbal supplement sold in most pharmacies and health stores. It is said to increase sexual drive and aid in erectile dysfunction. I would imagine it was put in the energy drink cause it stimulates sensory nerves and increases blood flow.

XS drinks have many of exact same ingredients. Just a few less. Only real difference is XS Drink is way more expensive. It's an item solely sold on the internet basically because there is no market for it as it's just a ripoff product that is way overpriced. It basically targets fools on the internet who think it must be good since it's so expensive.

  23. QUESTION:
I am on a diet... whats a good energy booster?
Are Lattes okay for me to drink....? What energy booster would you recommend...?

    Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
Protien & fresh foods (fruits and veggies)!!! All the athletes eat protien to keep their strength up. Natural fruits and veggies are free of impurities, toxins and artificial fillers. All you get is the real deal.

Caffeine will only make you retain water (aka bloating!), and once the high wears off you will just end up tired and grumpy. Lattes are also fattening depending on how much cream/milk and sugar is in it. Stay away from them!

  24. QUESTION:
What is a good energy booster?
Something that will help you stay awake longer, but is still healthy... no pills or anything of that sort... or coffee, I'm not a big fan of coffee... or energy drinks for that matter. I'm really narrowing down the choices, I know.

    • ANSWER:
      1. Have lots of Green Tea-works very well.

      2. Dates are a very good source of energy, almost like time release capsules, which keep you going all day long. But make sure you get fresh dates--and I mean the eating sort!

  25. QUESTION:
    Best energy booster?
What is the best over the counter energy booster? (aside from energy drinks and anything with caffiene in it)

    • ANSWER:
first thing in the morning after wake up, take 1. table spoon of honey, then go out for run, or jogging or at least go for a walk, at least for 2, or 1hr, when you back ,have a glass of carrot juice, then after shower, have your tea or coffee, try this way for 1.month, and you'll see the result.

  26. QUESTION:
    Emergen-C Super Energy Booster?
I recieved samples of this Emergen-C Super Energy booster, but I am kind of wary of them because of all the energy drinks out there that say no caffeine or no artificial sweetners, but then, you drink it, and you get the energy rush, and then die, should I drink it and see how I feel, or should I steer clear of it?

    • ANSWER:
I've used the stuff several times especially while traveling. It's a great preventative to getting sick. It's just crystallized Vitamin C. You dissolve it in your drink instead of taking a tablet. The claims of an energy boost are a bit far fetched. You'll feel no more "boosted" than if you were to take a tablet form of the supplement. The only real difference between them is their claim that since it's in liquid, it's easier for the body to absorb and faster. Hope that helps...

  32. QUESTION:
are store bought energy drinks safe?
i work monday through friday.i probably have one 4 times throughout the week, i heard that red bull was not good for the kidnneys or liver or something, so i drink the monster drink but i still dont know if its safe.. i know they say it dehydrates you but i do drink some water, i am in the sun for periods at a time while working....never felt nauseus or anything.. just dont want it to be in the future wher the doc tells me "at sometime you feed your body something horrible." or something like that. and what is my best alternative for energy booster that works?

    • ANSWER:
I believe in moderation, they are ok to drink, but I doubt they are healthy because of the caffeine...etc.

however, if you drink a limited # of them and include water in your diet & other healthy foods, I can't imagine they would be any worse for your body than fast food, alcohol...etc.

As an alternative, try "crystal light on-the-go, Wild Strawberry for Energy:. It has B-Vitamins & caffeine (less than an energy drink but still substancial) and is only 10calories per packet. It will also hydrate you more than an energy drink will.

Also, an apple in the morning (or whenever you begin your day) provides antioxidants, fiber & other nutrients that have been proven to boost your body better than a cup of coffee, and I've tested the theory & actually agree!!!! Incorporate the Crystal Light energy into that morning snack, and you're on your way to a helthy, refreshing energy boost!

Best of luck, work is tough sometimes, I know, so I hope I could help you out some!!

      :o )

    • ANSWER:
It's not uncommon to use energy suppliments when you first start exercising. But after a while your body will naturally have more energy because it will start to use calories for energy more efficiently. Although this means unless you want to lose weight you will have to eat more to maintain this energy. On the negative side any stimulant will increase the work load on your heart that on top of working out puts strain on your heart.

Also, I get around 8~9 hours of sleep every night.

    • ANSWER:
Things with carbs such as pasta and bread will give you energy, but be careful as too much will raise your cholestrol.

Also, have a high-fiber diet. Grains and some fruits have good portions of fiber. Also there are a lot of "fiber bars" that are actually quite tasty snacks.
