Energy Drink Market Share

Energy Drinks are taking consumers by storm. They are also taking investors and businesses by storm. It's not just Energy Drinks, it's all the category, called New Age Beverage 00004000 s that includes energy drinks, vitamin waters, new sodas, flavored waters, high end waters, and all the new style of beverages.

And now, after the announcement of Vitaminwater selling for $4.1 billion dollars everyone wants a peace of the action.

Everyone can start their own Energy Drink or New Age Beverage. The barrier of entry to get into the market is not very high. It does not take that much money, it just takes know-how and a lot of elbow grease and passion, there has to be passion.

Why passion and elbow grease? Well, just because you bottle your Energy Drink does not mean you'll sell it. Distributors get hundreds of calls per month from new energy drinks, or "JAED" (Just Another Energy Drink). Don't be a "JEAD", be different, position your product in a new way. Don't just say "I have the best flavor" or "it tastes better than red bull". Everyone has access to flavors, everyone can make a better tasting energy drink, that's not a niche.

You need passion and elbow grease. You need to believe in your products and that you will succeed. You need to see the project through. You also need to put the work in. To sell Energy Drinks you need to do some work, land some accounts, visit some distributors or retailers. If you can do that you are on your way. You need something else. You need to make calls, visit people, make it happen.
. You have to realize that Vitamin Water is not the first company to get big cash for their brand. The energy drink and beverage industry is super hot. New companies are started every day. We have gotten at least 2,000 phone calls or emails from new ventures. Many companies that you now think as the market leaders started not long ago as start-ups.

Besides the big news companies like Vitaminwater you can find many companies getting funding, selling or going public. Not to mention many more companies that received funding or went public.

Other companies like Reeds Beverage, Who's Your Daddy, Jones Soda and Hensen with Monster Energy Drink access funding through the public markets. There are many companies going public, getting funding, selling, starting energy drinks.

I get a lot of calls from entrepreneurs starting their energy drinks and many more from investors looking to invest in companies or performing due diligence. At the moment I have at least 100 people contacting me every month wanting to know about the New Age Beverage Industry, Energy Drinks, how to get distribution, how to export, how to bottle drinks or to go over business plans or other information. The industry is growing and the category is growing even faster

Now let me tell you a bit about Energy Drinks. Energy Drinks are the new Super Profitable products. Everybody makes money, the manufacturer, the distributor and the retailer. You see, Energy Drinks sell for $1.99 to $2.40 at the stores for 8 to 16 ounces. This is incredible if you consider that you can buy a soda that's the same size for $0.50 to $0.75. Even a 20 ounce soda runs you about $1.25.

Distributors love the product because they make about $8 per every case they sell compared with about $2 to $4 for their other products. Retailers love it because they can make from $16 to $20 per case.

Energy Drinks and the beverage industry is also a fun business to be in, not just profitable. You have special events, parties, promotions, and you can spin and position your products the way you want, having fun in the process.

Frequently Asked Questions

  1. QUESTION:
What's the percentage of 24 Power drink market share of energy drinkd in Malaysia?
If you manage to find articles or reports to prove,it will be a bonus.thanks. =)

    • ANSWER:
Few months ago i did marketing research on bottled water consumption in Canada and bumped on some data for energy drinks. Without knowing Malaysia and its stats, it is tough to tell exactly, but there are some rough estimates.
I hope you can use it as a frame and make the math yourself.
Energy drinks count for approximately 20% of the soft drink market and the trends are for +10% growth annually (additional 2% annual bite from the soft drinks market share). Red Bull has about 40% of the energy drinks market share in NA. If there are 15 major energy drinks, and 5 of them capture 85% or over of the market share it makes that the rest are fighting for 1.5-2% each.
Now, you can look for soft drinks consumption in Malaysia and apply this proportions.
      Good luck

  7. QUESTION:
How will a business get higher market share?
    For an energy drink company?

    • ANSWER:
Well an energy drink company could increase its market share in various ways, although for some companies i.e. Red Bull they already have an extensive market share within the energy drink field; this leaves little room for movement and growth. However they have been seen to release new flavours, Red Bull Cola, and different calorie rates i.e. Red Bull Light. This helps them to expand their market share as it increase their product portfolio and gives consumers more choice, leading to less chance for a competitor to profit.

However as noted their market share advantage is so great that they have little rom for an increase, thus instead they may seek to sustain a high market share. This should be relatively simple as energy drinks i.e. Red Bull are part of a niche market, meaning once they are established as a good brand there is going to be little chance of there being many competitors, and thus sustaining market share is easy as long as customers are kept pleassed.

      Hope this helps, Marty

  8. QUESTION:
Any professional or experienced person who is familiar with MLM, please tell me any intel about Quixtar?
I have a friend who is VERY ambitious and is building a team through Quixtar. Many of their plans involve consuming the exclusive products sold through Quixtar such as; XS energy drinks, Nutrilite vitamin supplements, and health and beauty products. The convincing and very motivating factors in joining up with this company are things such as: residual income, mass-networking, learning and basically copying mentors who are making atleast 6-figures or are millionaires, and seemingly building your OWN company. The thing is I have done some studies and found out that ALOT of people claim that Quixtar is just a new name for the company Amway who became notorious for some of their procedures. I am just asking for any real professional, experienced, or greatly concerned individual who actually has knowledge either good or bad to share with me about Multi-Level Marketing or/and Quixtar. Any complex information about Quixtar would be gladly accepted. Thank you all for your time!

    • ANSWER:
Amway and Quixtar are both owned by the same parent company, Alticor. Alticor also owns the Orlando Magic, Peter Island, and has exclusive rights to brands like Nutrilite and Artistry which are the best products around.

It wasn't so much Amway in general that deserved a bad reputation but some of the actions of people within the business earned them a bad rap. In addition, things like door to door selling and having to distribute everything to your downlines were concepts that didn't work.

Quixtar took all the best aspects of Amway - utilizing Quixtar.com as a portal site where people can redirect all their buying power and earn money through volume. Of course, you also get linked up with BWW (Britt World Wide) as an IBO (Independent Business Owner) and it teaches you what to do and what not to do. BWW is, in itself, worth being involved in the business for. You learn how to run a business, how to talk to people, and a lot of other things that you'll never get from the working world.

Quixtar has also a great affiliate marketing program with 90+ companies where you can get anything and everything you need that Quixtar doesn't supply directly. They link with companies like Barnes and Noble, Office Depot, Circuit City, Shop.com. You can get cell phones, plane tickets, insurance, a credit card, whatever you need!

The people are fantastic, the ethics are amazing - it's a society where people don't pass negative to each other and just want to see everyone else succeed. Can you find this in the working world? Probably not. You'll never find any backstabbing, cheating, abuse, or anything like that in this business.

To finish up - yes, it does require a lot of hard work, but in the end it pays off through the factors you stated - especially freedom. On a daily basis we get to interact with these leaders who take time out of their day to help people that aren't as successful yet to build their business. Quixtar isn't for the average person, though, so that's why it's often viewed as a bad thing when in fact it's exactly the opposite.

  9. QUESTION:
I can't sleep at night!!! HELP ME!!!!?
So, I've not had anything traumatic happen, no anxiety, I don't drink caffeine or "Energy Drinks" after around 10 in the morning (maybe twice a week, if that), I'm 20 years old, get enough exercise (at the gym 4-6 days a week), and have tried everything from self medicating, which I don't approve of, to "Natural" remedies.

I've tried sleepy music, I've tried sleepy tea, I've covered all of the lights in my room and made it sound proof.

And yet, I still can't sleep!!

Been to the doctor, and all they want to do is drug me, and I Don't like depending on a pill to put me to sleep.

The reason this is a problem is because when I finally do fall asleep (between 4 and 7 A.M.), I have to wake up at 8 for class and I don't hear the alarm clock like its not even there(I've bought the loudest one from the market) Imagine my friends position in this situation, we share a wall *laughs*. I have had to ask my flat mate to help wake me. *Laughs* It's quite pathetic, like I'm a child or somethin'. So I guess this is a two part question:

    1. Sleep remedies.

    and

    2. Wake up remedies. (for when the sleep ones inevitably fail.) *laughs*
I'm not looking to sh*t my brains out people, lmao. I'm not stressed. and saying I'm tired... Hello! did you even read the fu*kin' question?!
Tara, Thanks for understanding, and not telling, but Suggesting. =]

    I appreciate it.

    • ANSWER:
hm well, well i guess im the last person you would want to answer because im an insomniac. some people have said that if there is a computer or tv in your room then your brain wants to be entertained and so you want to turn it on and use it. some sort of entertainment basically is in your room and you want to you use it. thats probably not it, but just something to point out. i cant sleep because im constantly thinking about things, and doing things. once i get started i cannot stop. maybe you have a lot on your mind, and maybe things around you like Friends, family, school, work, is keeping your mind awake. maybe you should take a nature walk, it calms you down and gets yourself in tune with nature. try relaxing more, and not worrying about things so much. not saying that you do just ... saying. good luck :]

  10. QUESTION:
    Investing in the stock market?
I am 14 and want to gain experience investing in the stock market. I already invest in a mutual fund but I would like to actually become a small owner in large companies. I am not looking to day trade, but just invest for long term and experience investing in stocks.

Right now, I only have 00 to invest with, but I am hoping to make money from my online companies. I was thinking about investing in 4 large well known companies each in a different industry or sector. For example, Microsoft in technology, JPMorgan in finance, Coca Cola in food and drinks, and maybe another company in energy or Nike in retail. Since I only have 00, I would invest 0 in each company.

I know that I would only be buying a few shares, but I think investing in more than one industry is good for deversification. I am planning on using Scottrade for this.

    Is this a good idea?

    • ANSWER:
Wait for the Sky is Falling ..Crash.....and just do it..Your commission would be sorta high, but your plan is a good one....Best of Luck

  11. QUESTION:
Who is more energy efficient? BUSH or GORE?
Published on Sunday, April 29, 2001 in the Chicago Tribune
Bush Loves Ecology -- At Home
    by Rob Sullivan

The 4,000-square-foot house is a model of environmental rectitude.

Geothermal heat pumps located in a central closet circulate water through pipes buried 300 feet deep in the ground where the temperature is a constant 67 degrees; the water heats the house in the winter and cools it in the summer. Systems such as the one in this "eco-friendly" dwelling use about 25% of the electricity that traditional heating and cooling systems utilize.

A 25,000-gallon underground cistern collects rainwater gathered from roof runs; wastewater from sinks, toilets and showers goes into underground purifying tanks and is also funneled into the cistern. The water from the cistern is used to irrigate the landscaping surrounding the four-bedroom home. Plants and flowers native to the high prairie area blend the structure into the surrounding ecosystem.

No, this is not the home of some eccentrically wealthy eco-freak trying to shame his fellow citizens into following the pristineness of his self-righteous example. And no, it is not the wilderness retreat of the Sierra Club or the Natural Resources Defense Council, a haven where tree-huggers plot political strategy.

This is President George W. Bush's "Texas White House" outside the small town of Crawford.

Yes, the same George W. who believes arsenic and drinking water might not be such a bad combo, the same man who reneged on his campaign promise to lower carbon dioxide emissions from power plants, the same man who is doing everything in his power to fling open the Alaskan Natural Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling.

How does the President reconcile an eco-friendly abode for his own family with his persistent stand against anything that smacks of an environmentally friendly agenda for the nation as a whole? The answer to that perplexing question is a real mystery.

Perhaps sound ecological practices are only for those who can afford them: as a self-proclaimed strict constructionist of the U.S. Constitution, Bush must be aware that clean air and clean water are not guaranteed in that glorious document. Perhaps in Bush's Brave New Corporate World, clean natural resources are merely commodities in a free-market economy: if you can pay for them, fine; if not, tough. The rest of us will just have to put up with more toxic dumps and more public lands being turned over to logging, mining and oil companies.

According to David Heymann, the house's architect and associate dean of the University of Texas architecture department, Heymann designed the house so that "every room has a relationship with something in the landscape that's different from the room next door. Each of the rooms feels like a slightly different place."

In a USA Today interview, Heymann said, "There's a great grove of oak trees to the west that protects it from the late afternoon sun. Then there is a view out to the north looking at hills, and to the east out over a lake, and the view to the south . . . out to beautiful hills."

I suppose in George W.'s architectural world only the rich and powerful have views; vistas that the public owns as part of its shared heritage are up for lease and sale.

Heymann also termed the house "stunningly small." Really? Would it be stunningly small for a single mother in South Central Los Angeles? How stunningly small would it be for an immigrant Latino family in San Antonio Maybe in the rarified heights where second homes are the norm, 4,000 square feet is small and on a stunning scale as well, but in Main Street America that much elbow room is pretty big for the first and only home.

But then most of us can't reconcile what might at first glance appear to be inherently irreconcilable. Maybe some day, like our noble president, we will be able to make that kind of staggering mental feat. That is, if we ever stop misunderestimating ourselves.
