why It is true that vegetarian foods give all type of energy, vitamins and other minerals to body ?
I think that vegetarian foods give all type of energy and vitamins to body and it is better foods for get all type of energy.

    • ANSWER:
if you think about it, most animals that are used for food are vegetarian! cows are full of protein that their bodies made from eating plants that made their protein from energy gathered from the sun. the sun is the ultimate source of energy on the earth, and the "closer" your food source is to that source, the healthier the food usually. because of this, vegetarian foods--specifically the vegetation and fresh foods in general-- will nourish your body with energy, vitamins and whatever you were trying to talk about. This is not always true though because there are still many foods that are veg. or vegan that are not healthy or nutritious in any way! also, most people who go veg. eat way more dairy which is what i believe to be the worst(it is a horrible source of calcium, look it up :-) ), so watch out!

  8. QUESTION:
Why are B Vitamins found in energy drinks?
I was reading a list of nutrients that provide energy and B vitamins is not one of them. Can someone explain why they are put into energy drinks?

And yes, I do realize the stimulation from energy drinks is from the caffeine content.

    • ANSWER:
B vitamins don't actually provide energy; they aren't a nutrient.

Essentially, what B vitamins (there are 8 of them) do is help your body break down carbohydrates into glucose (energy). They also help your body break down fats and proteins into energy.

So energy drinks may contain a lot of carbohydrates and the B vitamins are added to increase your body's use of these carbohydrates.

I take Vitamin B complex as directed by my physician. It makes a huge difference in my energy level.

    • ANSWER:
Do you know what's in the drink?

Do you know what's in the pills?

People spend billion per year on vitamins and supplements.  According to Everyday Health, here's an article that will tell you why . . . those PRODUCTS by any other name do NOT WORK.  It is false advertisements.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesn’t have to approve supplements — no agency in the United States does. So it’s up to consumers to bring health concerns to light. “It’s important to understand the difference between over-the-counter medications and dietary supplements,” say Pieter Cohen, MD, an internist at Cambridge Health Alliance and instructor at Harvard Medical School in Cambridge, Mass. The FDA gets involved only after the fact, if the supplement later appears to be causing harm. By that time, the supplement may already have harmed many consumers who used it. “The burden of proof is on the FDA to determine [a supplement] is dangerous and remove it from the market,” Cohen says. Consumer complaints are the primary trigger for investigations. One recent investigation of the dietary weight-loss supplement ephedra resulted in it being banned for sale in the United States.

  15. QUESTION:
Whats the best vitamins to take for energy?
I'm a full time student and not used to sitting in a chair all day, by my second class I feel run down and tired. Not to mention these aren't the most exciting classes. I want to start taking vitamins that will give me energy all day without a huge crash, like caffene gives you sometimes. I'm also 24 if that helps any.

    • ANSWER:
If you are lacking energy, vitamins are not really the solution. There are many other things that can help:

Eat a healthy big breakfast, like oatmeal and fruit. Eat enough that you don't get hungry for 5 hours.
Avoid sodas, fried food, junk food and empty calorie snacks. Eat lots of vegetables, whole grains, fruit, and beans.
Sit up straight in your classes and practice deep breathing if you feel tired. Breathe in very, very deep, letting your stomach be soft and expand as you inhale. As you exhale, pull your belly button in toward your spine and hold it there until you inhale again. Deep breathing sends lots of oxygen through your system, especially to your brain.
Since you are a student, you will probably be using your computer a lot. Don't use it for unnecessary stuff like playing games or chatting.
Do some exercise every day, even if it is just a 30 minute walk.
Get some sunshine every day, or take a vitamin D supplement.
Avoid alcohol. Avoid caffeine, or limit it to a cup or two of green tea a day.
Get enough sleep at night. As a student, you are using your brain a lot and you need rest for it to recover.
Best wishes. I hope these ideas help you.

I am a 19 year old guy. I am a full time college student and I work 20 hours a week doing stock work at a retail store. Usually to get through the day I drink some Monster energy drinks. But it gets expensive paying a drink.

I am asking if anyone knows and can recommend if I should take vitamins instead to give me energy. I figure they are much healthier, effective, and cheaper. But I don't know what kind to take.

    Any help will be appreciated.

    • ANSWER:
There are a lot of options for energy. You can try Stress B complex, which has a lot of Vitamin Bs in it. The great thing about Vitamin B is that you can never have too much about it, meaning you can't overdose on it. You can get it at Wal-Mart or other pharmacies. There's also something called Emergen-C that you add to water or juice. It comes in all kinds of flavors, so I'm sure you can find something you like. And you can also eat more protein, esp. in the morning. Eating eggs topped with cheese, a slice of whole wheat toast, and a glass of skim milk in the morning would be a great option! Also, make sure you're getting enough sleep.
If you're just looking for supplements though, you can take the Stress B Complex vitamins, the Emergen-C vitamins, and drink a protein shake all in the same day to give you some energy. Hope this helps!

I am going for a weekend long outdoor concert and was wondering any recommendations for the best herbal suggestions for energy and vitality. Right now I plan on using Red Bull but hoping there was something better and healthier out there. I read of Brahmi, is this something to look into?

  20. QUESTION:
What are vitamins or medicine that give energy?
I'm looking for vitamins or medicine that will help give me energy. I'm not looking for the quick fix that energy drinks give so please don't suggest those. But I would like some kind of pill that I could take in the morning to help give me the energy that I don't have.

    • ANSWER:
Every morning you could take a women's mega potency multivitamin. The high content of the B vitamins should boost your energy level. It is mostly vitamin B12 that boosts your energy but all the other B vitamins help as well.

  21. QUESTION:
What type/brand of B-vitamins should I take for energy?
I have just discovered those 5 hour energy shots you see in the convenience store (by the way, they're awesome). They give me a great burst of energy with no crash afterwards. The problem is I cant afford them and would like to go a more natural way anyway. Can someone tell me what vitamins will pacify my need for more energy?

    • ANSWER:
I'm not sure about recommending an actual brand of Vitamin B, but rather just to advise you to take vitamin B12 and Super B Complex on a daily basis and in double doses. For example, if the bottle says take 2 tablets/pills daily, then you take 4 of that bottle daily.

Not only will you notice an increase in energy, but you'll also boost your immune system. I used to get sick frequently. But I've been taking vitamin Bs for approx. 3 years now and I have NOT gotten the cold, or flu or anything that requires a visit to the doctors office or pharmacy. Its that simple.

Vitamin B is the absolute best for everything from energy, immune boosting to metabolism. I carry it in my purse at all times.

Again, a specific product, I cannot recommend, but I do shop at GNC, the Vitamin Shoppe, Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade, Rite Aid, just about any brand will do as long as the miligrams is high and you take both B12 and Super B complex.

      Good Luck.

  22. QUESTION:
What kind of vitamins or foods would increase my energy levels?
Im only 21 but Im usually dead tired. I don't know what kind of vitamins I should take or what kinds of food I should eat to increase my energy levels. I drink lots of milk and eat lots of cereals. Should I just eat more than I eat now(coz I hardly eat) or should I start taking vitamin pills.
Also, witch type of foods should I eat for my brain and working memory to be functioning at its best?

    • ANSWER:
This is a good question, an important question for all of us. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, said, "Let your food be your medicine." Our bodies have evolved over many millenia to convert food to the chemicals needed for optimal functioning.

There are many foods which boost energy levels. Watch the energy foods slide show posted below on the medicine.net site. Foods highlighted there include; apples; whole grains; nuts, especially almonds, brazil nuts, hazelnuts and cashes: lean meats like chicken and turkey; salmon and other omega-3 rich fish like sardines and mackerel; leafy greens like spinach and romaine lettuce; fiber, from sources like beans and vegetables; fresh produce; coffee, in moderation; tea, especially black and green; dark chocolate.

Eat frequent small meals if energy is a problem for you. Also, start the day with a nutrient-dense breakfast, like a fruit smoothie mixed with a raw egg and a couple of slices of whole wheat toast with blueberry preserves. Drink lots of water too. This is so important to maintain energy levels.

As far as vitamins are concerned, the B vitamins are the ones to pay closest attention to, especially vitamin B-12. Madonna swears by her vitamin B-12 shots, and medical science too recognizes the importance of this vitamin.

Finally, consistent exercise will help you. Try to find something you enjoy and stick with it, something that uses all the muscles of your body rhythmically, like swimming, cross-country skiing or aerobic dancing.

I hope this helps. Vince Lombardi once said, "Fatigue makes cowards of us all." Yet, when we have enough energy, it seems we can do virtually anything.

  23. QUESTION:
what are good vitamins for a day full of energy?

      Good luck! :)

  24. QUESTION:
What is the name of the drug? It had full of vitamins, gave loads of energy, and made you lose weight. ?
It came in liquid form, you take 1 to 2 drops a couple times a week and was very good for you? It was sold over the counter in drugs stores in West Germany. It was taken off the market. It had full of vitamins, gave loads of energy, and made you lose weight.

    • ANSWER:
I'm not sure if you're referring to fen-phen. But, you should stay away from those types of drugs. I tried everything to lose weight and ended up landing in the hospital once from lack of nutrients.

After my 3rd child I had to do something to lose weight, but I think the best thing is to exercise, stay healthy and eat right.

  25. QUESTION:
in high school need energy some vitamins a drink or something?
don't say energy drink ive tried them all except 5 hour energy so tell me if its good

I've chewed 2 Flintstones vitamins every day but i feel no increase in energy during school

    • ANSWER:
That's because vitamins have very little effect on your level of alertness, and the problem is probably related to you staying up too late, sleeping poorly because of the conditions of your room (which should be dark, cool, and quiet with some ambient noise and a firm surface beneath you), or having to get up too early.

You could take some caffeine but I would recommend starting that spiral, haha.

The fat soluble vitamins are the most potentially toxic, A to the eye, D to the kidney K to the blood clotting mechanism and E appears to increase all cause mortality. The most recent, and one of the most worrying papers concerns women taking multivitamins. There appears to be an associated 19% increase in the risk of breast cancer in women on multivitamin tablets, though further investigation is required to confirm that the risk is causal.

    • ANSWER:
Take a few bites of your meal. Then take the vits. Finish the meal. This is the usual method when a particular vitamin can cause a queasy stomach. The B vitamins are notorious for this. 38. QUESTION:
Does anyone knoWhat vitamins are good to give you energy in the morning?
I work two jobs and I get about 5 hours sleep a night. At the time working only one is not an option. I need to know of an over the counter vitamin that could help in giving me some energy so I'm not falling asleep at my desk?

    • ANSWER:
Try B vitamins. B6 being the best. Personally for me with my schedule I like those little bottles you find at 7-11 under the name of 5 hour energy or various brand names of energy shots. These are not cheap but absolutely loaded with high concentrations of B1(niacin) B6(pryidoxine hydrochloride) and B12(Cyanocobalamin) A cheaper way to get these vitamins is to buy a product called Emergen-C. You can find this at your local supermarket vitamin aisle. It is packs of dissolving minerals that you just add to water and drink.

Good vitamins for a 22yr old for energy and less stress?
I am a 22yr old female with a very stressful life. What vitamins are best for me to boost my energy and lower my stress level?

    • ANSWER:
Shakeology is a great source of energy with 70 healthy ingredients. It has a very low glycemic level which will help you keep your mood swings in check because of a steady burn of fuel instead of spiking.

Nothing actually lowers stress except removing the factors that are causing stress in your life. Working out hard can help you burn away your anxiety and feel like the stress has been relieved.

I will leave a website in the source box for Shakeology. There are some videos there and lots of info on the product and what doctors say about it......>

    • ANSWER:
If you are taking additional vitamins because of a hypovitaminosis then the vitamins taken in are utilised the same day and physical benefits will be seen within a week.
But if you are taking an adequately balanced diet , and taking additional vitamin supplements these will be of no use to the body.

  44. QUESTION:
Parents: Do any of you take supplements or specific vitamins for energy and/or mood?
Or something similar? What do you take and do you think it is helpful?

    • ANSWER:
I was taking 5-HTP for a while, but I stopped because it was making me tired during the day (once the baby was born -- it made me need more sleep than I normally get (which is 2 to 3 hours)).I was taking it to help me sleep, but I noticed it helped make me less of a b*tch, though (maybe that was the extra sleep, I don't know). Anything that helps to raise serotonin levels is a good bet if you're looking for a mood-boost.

I have meds and vitamins, that together, improve my mood, but none are specifically meant to do that (it's just easier to be pleasant when you don't feel like sh*t).

Ooh...I can attest to B12 too...I get the shots though...not specifically for energy, but it does do that too...I get a shot every 2 weeks when I get my blood drawn...otherwise it might be a pain in the azz to do.
