     No way. FOUR LOKO has 12% alcohol in it mixed with energy drink. It's for people who want to get trashed fast for cheap and don't care about the aftermath. AKA; black out in a can.

I heard people have gotten anxiety attacks from them b/c all the stimulants got to them. But wouldn't the stimulant of caffeine and depressant of alcohol cancel each other out?

   Me and my boyfriend bought one today just to try I out since today is my 21 birthday and I never really drink and we neve tried it and I was wodering does it get you really drunk?

   • ANSWER:
     It used to, depending on where you live. NY state and a few others (I forget which) have recently banned the sale of caffeinated alcoholic drinks. The Loko with the caffeine in it basically has the same effect of alcohol mixed with Red Bull in large quantities. The caffeine makes you hyper and at the same time the alcohol gets you, well, drunk. Combined, the two effects get one very "effed up" to say the least. I personally could only stand to drink half a can at a time, being quite the lightweight. If your home state hasn't banned the caffeine in them, expect to have a very good or very bad night, hah. If it has though (look it up), then what you're getting at the store is just a crappy carbonated alcoholic drink. There's still a lot of alcohol in it so you'll obviously get drunk, but without the caffeine you may as well get something that tastes better.
     On a side note, caffeinated alcohol drinks are terrible for you because while the caffeine speeds your heart up, the alcohol slows it down. Both are trying to do their jobs at the same time, which is really harmful to your heart. If you have a heart condition or a family history, I'd stay away from drinks like Loko and Joose if they have the caffeine in your state. Even if you don't, it's pretty dangerous. Don't drink them often.
     PS-Loko tastes like crap. Just a warning. Fruit Punch and Watermelon aren't so bad, but Lemonade and Blue Raspberry and Grape are the absolute worst. Yuck.

   I heard that even though there's alcohol in them the caffeine and stuff in it tend to out way the alcohol and make a person hyper rather than relax them... also I read due to the caffeine they tend to cause anxiety.. what have your experiences been with this?

     no, but when I was at work stocking the beer cooler, I had one bust and spray all over my face.

10. QUESTION:
    a downed a litre of energy drink and swallowed four parecetomol and was actually really looked stoned?
    yeah so it gave me a headche about 5 hours after, but before i was really happy and laughing at anything even stupid things, i couldnt walk properly and speak properly and sas stuff i didn't even know i was saying........ i didn't think something like parecetamol would make me feel that well but it did. what really will this do to me? is it dangerous or not? im fifteen.

      Hi,

      Yes. this is incredibly dangerous because paracetamol is a drug that can do irriversible damage to your liver if taken in overdose. Never, ever take paracetamol in anything but the recommended dose on the packet and if you think you've overdosed on it, by even a couple of pills you should take yourself to hospital immediately. The tragic thing about paracetamol is that when taken in overdose - accidentally or otherwise, someone may appear to recover the next day but then go into liver failure a few days later.

      Don't do this again!

      Four lokos already have some sort of energy drink in it so i wouldnt recommend it.
      It might make your heart beat super fast since yoir getting a double dose of energy drink.
      I would do it.
      Oh and btw i wouldnt recommend getting drunk on four lokos cause they give you the nastiest hangovers xp haha

      4 Lokos...MY FAVORITE. They have the nick name of 'blackout in a can' but I haven't blacked out. 1 can WILL get you drunk, depending on how much you drink, and they aren't the greatest tasting. The watermelon, lemon lime or fruit punch taste quite delicious. I suggest taking a drink/ trying it for yourself

      actually i have. the best kind I think anyone should try first is the watermelon. but it depends on what u like to. im still a minor but i had all of them b4 and i liked the watermelon best. they are strong though so be careful at first. and the price is varied but in virginia beach, va but they are cheap though. they're .31 i think thats what the price comes out to with tax, maybe a little more.

      And about the whole Five Nines thing that the guy after me said - I, for one, have never even heard of Five nines before. and I'm sure that An energy drink would be a lot more common thing for people to be talkign about than computer servers. So I wouldnt throw out the name just because of that.

      Wormwood is a common herb used an many drinks. Among others wormwood is a common ingredient in vermouth. The whole hallucination thing is a myth created by the French wine industry in the late 1800's.

      You must be 21 in order to buy it since it contains alcohol.
      It is the same as drinking 6 beers, so it's more than likely

      VIP is pretty gay, unless you really plan on restricting sales to Very Important People; "Can I have one of those drinks, please?", "NO, You can't." That doesn't sound like a good sales strategy.

    can an alcoholic energy drink cause a sudden redness on the face and neck?
    my husband drank a beverage called four loko which is an energy drink mixed with 12 percent alcohol.. and after about 30-45 min his face got red like a sunburn and has red splotches down the back of his neck..he feels fine other than his face feeling hot...is this an allergic reaction to the drink or to something else or is it something different causing it.

      They have energy drinks with alcohol now, omg, if energy drinks aren't bad enough! Too much caffeine and sugar from the energy drink, combined with 12 percent alcohol is asking for trouble. With his face getting such a reaction, tell him to NOT drink those anymore. They should be taken of the shelves!

      haven't tried it, I have a can in the fridge from before they pulled them off the shelves. they have a reformulated version out now. I can't bring myself to tasting them they seem gross.

      This isn't an answer to ur question but I had the same kinda problem when I drank cheap vodka. My shoulder started hurting really bad...like almost crying bad...it was so bad I had to stop drinking and try to sleep. It was weird and i haven't drank that vodka again or had the pain...so yeah.

      yes. REALLY.

      For the amount you drink, you had a very real chance of your heart giving out or - a high chance of burst blood vessels due to high blood pressure. Possible liver or kidney damage as well.

      But hey... knowing the young people of today.. like you, my advice is probably get brushed aside as silly and that you will never believe that it can happen to you. And you will probably keep on drinking it anyway.

      There is too much competition for bottled water and energy drinks, but people can always appreciate a great micro-brewed beer.

      Since germs grow in all things over time (hence the expiration date) you should throw it away.

      I drank a four loko, then had a pint of whiskey. I was so unexpectedly too f*cked up.

      It didn't make me feel anxious though.

    i like alcoholic energy drinks. i used to drink four loko all the time but once it got banned i started drinking joose. but in my area (i live in ny) they're not selling joose anymore, but they're selling joose and earthquake. i've never tried tilt or earthquake so i'm wondering if tilt is any good. & please don't say "oh those drinks suck!" i need informative answers please. thanks.

      I think they taste better than Four Loko and definitely better than Joose. I've had the green, blue, and purple so far. They don't sell anything here with energy ingredients anymore (as of the 10th), so to add a similar effect as the Four Loko I add 200mg of caffeine per can. I don't see myself ever dumping my money on Jager and Redbull ever again.

    I do understand that Rockstar and Red Bull both also come in sugar-free versions, so if I was to decide to go with either of these drinks I would choose the sugar-free one anyway.

      Honestly, they are best in moderation, because you expirence the best effects that way.

      Its almost like a drug addiction, once you develop a tolerance, you have to drink more and more to get that kick. Even then, you still get a better 'buzz' as a casual drinker.

      However, to answer, Red Bull and Monster seem to work best. For me they work the best with at least some food in me, otherwise I get jittery when I down a can on an empty stomach.

      The last one I had that gave me a really strong boost was from a Rockstar Iced Latte.

    I used to be a rum/coke drinker, now Ive been drinking beer mixed with energy drink aka four loko's, I wake up with everyone telling me how crazy I went, and I remember nothing, is it because the drink, or because something else?

      The reason you can't remember anything is because you consume large amounts of alcohol. A potential explanation as to why you "go crazy" when you drink four loko's is because energy drinks give you a lot of caffeine and sugar, which combined with the effects of alcohol can potentially increase drunken behavior.

      I'm not sure why you didn't black out when you drank rum and coke: rum is a liquor and should be more powerful to your system. However, perhaps you drink greater quantities of beer when you have four lokos because the energy drinks mask the alcohol you consume?

      If you think this is a problem, I would take it easy on the four lokos for awhile. If you were just curious as to why this is, then that's the best advice I can offer. Although you may want to ask someone with medical experience why you black out more with beer, that's quite rare.

      a cup of coffee has more caffeine than any energy drink out there.

      Your just sensitive to caffeine apparently.

      I would imagine your getting yourself even more worked up about it, by worrying.

    I drank three Rockstar 16oz energy drinks over a four hour period. About fifteen minutes after the last one I noticed my heart was pounding pretty bad.

    Then I got twitches. Yeah, TWITCHES. My face and chest and fingers all would just twitch. I felt tingles in my left arm and right leg. Then, like an hour later, I got VERY sick - dry heaves like you wouldn't believe.

    Really, I thought I was going to have a stroke or a seizure. I became anxious and thoughts were racing through my head, but I couldn't keep up with any of them because my heart was so distracting. I really was quite concerned and my poor heart is still struggling and pounding very hard.

    So, here's the kicker - with the last energy drink I also took 200mg of Wellbutrin.

    So, my question is :

    - Can you overdose from energy drinks? And if so, what are you overdosing "on"?

    - Could the combination of Rockstar and Wellbutrin be some catalyst to disaster I didn't know about?

      Rockstar has a high content of Guarana and it is not know in medical journals to produce overdose effects. However on occassion people may be allergic to certain ingredients, and this may be what has happened.

    Is there any conclusive evidence that energy drink (Nos, Rockstar, ect.) are worse for you than say, Coke?
    I love energy drinks -both the taste and the way they make me feel - and I often drink four or five a week. I don't drink other sugary drinks, be it soda or fruit juice, so I figure I can allow myself this one vice. If I knew the energy drinks are going to give me cancer or something, I would cut down. I've heard they may be cancerous from people on blogs who have no credentials, but I am yet to read a reputable scientific article that says that energy drinks have any effects worse than regular soda. Any advice?

      Nobody really knows what causes cancer aside from smoking and even that doesn't always give people cancer.

      At least you do not drink the energy drinks daily or drink soda daily, they're OK in moderation but I used to drink soda daily just 1-2 cans and I stopped because I didn't want to put all of those dyes/chemicals and sugar into my body at once, or wreck my teeth, and if I want caffeine now I'll just drink tea or coffee.

    A year or 2 ago a kid in conneticut got in trouble for buying this energy drink that was called four loka. it is now banned in connecticut. i usually buy things that i don't no whats inside it. i am obiously too young for alchohol. So please name a list of them that i should stay away from.

      considering you are under age, you should stay away from all alcoholic drinks. but the ones you are asking about with caffeine in them that are bad, and i don't know for sure about connecticut though. Sparks, Tilts, Four Lokos, Steele Max, Mikes Harder Lemonade (probably not a ton of caffeine, but way too sugary), Joos.. just off the top of my head
