      Studies have proven that people who drink any sort of soft drink - whether it is diet or full sugar - tend to gain more weight than those who don't drink them at all.

      But that doesn't mean you'll gain weight. All those energy ingredients will certainly have you buzzing. Don't drink too much and especially not in the evening, or you'll never sleep.     I'm a 14 year old girl at school I drank a Max 5 Hour Energy Drink for the first time and it made me really pumped up and my blood was pumping and I had an amazing adrenaline rush than my body started getting sore all over and my arm was throbbing. It is the next day and my arm feels like I banged into a store wall. Please tell me what's going on!

Your arm will hurt for about 3 days and then you'll forget about it. Remember, energy drinks are fun but they can be dangerous.

      Keep away from the caffine loaded drinks such as red bull, especially before exercise. Drink a lucozade drink or a sports water type drink;
      You should not keep drinking it. Its loaded with sugar (thats why its an energy drink), yes it will indirectly affect your heart;

      yes sweetie the crash from those drinks can be crushing, they shove so much boost's in them that you will be exhausted mentally and physically. and a tired brain can get depressed, i would suggest staying away from them, and if you take any other med's, on a daily basis, make sure how the drink can effect those also.get some rest you should feel better after a good sleep, the jitters and shakes will go away.

    How did I do on my diet today?
    Breakfast- 1 cup oatmeal, 1/2 cup fat free milk, coffee with 3 packets pf splenda and 1 tbsp coffee mate (10 calories, 0 sugar and fat)
    Snack- medium apple and same cup of coffee
    Lunch- 32 fresh squeezed carrot, spinach, beets, kale, and cucumbers. Also plain Greek yogurt(100 cals no fat.)
    Snack- 2 go girl energy drinks less than 5 calories each and no sugar(has sucralose), apple.
    Dinner- fava beans, chick peas, some olive oil

      That sounds a bit like overkill to me. I don't think they are GOOD for you however. They are high in sugar and caffeine, two things that are a bit shaky to be a daily habit. You hopefully know the adage..... everything in moderation....this is a good rule. Having a monster drink every now and then (once every week or two) certainly won't kill you. Having one every day though, sets you up for a habit that will be hard to break, plus it's unneeded calories and can lead to a little bit of a roll around the middle You won't die though from it

    Did ecstasy for the first time on the weekend and had energy drink shots?
    So I'm currently a patient under an involentary treatment order in a long term extended treatment psychiactric facillity. And this weekend I went on weekend for the first time sense being here, and my sister (she does a lot of drugs, and has tried pretty much everything) said she found a new person to get ecstasy off, and asked me if i gave her money i could have some. So she got a good deal sense the girl was her friend, for 3 pills. They had superman symbols on them. I took one, after about half an hour i didn't feel anything, so I took another one and started to feel it. I danced for 3 hours straight and had such an incredible feeling of energy and happiness that I had never experienced before. I didn't sleep at all and the following day I had 7 energy drink shots and 2 extra strength caffiene pills and 100mg of melatonin because I thought that would elevate it.
    I started shaking uncontrollabley and felt very sick, when I came back to the hospital yesterday, the nurses said my pupils were very dilated and i looked very spaced out, I was shaking and pacing and my head was spinning. They did my obs and my heart rate and blood pressure were very high so they asked me if I had taken anything and I said no, but of course they didnt believe me and got me drug tested and found out I had taken MDMA. I still feel like shit, I don't know wether its from the energy drink shots or the ecstasy, but yeah, i had a shit weekend and it was my first time trying drugs. I don't want to get my sister in trouble and so far they haven't informed my mother which is good, but I feel like complete crap and on the verge of suicide. We have internet access here which is why I am on here though it is somewhat restricted. I want to jump in front of a train so badly. My ecstasy high lasted for about 7 hours and it was amazing at the time but the coming down was the worst feeling i'd ever had in my life.

    But, even so, I want more. Not ectsasy, but i want to try speed or acid or ketamine. i go home on the weekends so im here during the week and this guy i like who i hung out with yesterday (we used to go out) is with someone else and i still like him but then theres another ex who i love and miss but said some crazy shit to me yesterday and im just so confused.

    basically, did drugs, sucked, but wanna do it again next weekend, never again the energy shots though, they tasted like cough syrup and alchahol combined and the melatonin just made it worse, I also took a bunch of prescription pills (only about 15 so not an overdose) just for the sake of it.

    I so badly want to kill myself, the nurses here, well most of them are really bad and mean, I hate this place so much and I want to go home. I haven't eaten sense friday because I don't have an appetite and they're getting worried but im still not going to eat....

      Anyway - in order to feel better you need to EAT.

      Stick out your time at the hospital or whatever. When you're let out, then you can try stuff. Make sure you're healthy first. Seriously.

      The ecstasy could have made you more tired than usual or feeling a little depressed or something, but that's all.

      Do not take too many prescription pills either.

      Stay healthy for a while. Don't do ketamine until you're out of the facility as it can really mess things up. If you're in for a mental disorder, psychedelics are not good for you either. :s

    I did this today for he first time but I'll NEVER do it again. It's been about 9 hours since my last energy drink and I feel like my heart is beating pretty fast.       You'll be fine. The label says not to consume more than three a day. Still, you'd need to drink around 8 grams of caffeine to die. There are like 160 mg in a can, so not to worry.

      Sorry to hear about your pain. Does it only occur after downing an energy drink? Then it sounds to me like you could be having some acid reflux, or "heartburn," which is the contents of your stomach backing up into the esophagus and causing irritation. This usually is not serious, but can be very uncomfortable as you've experienced. Energy drinks tend to be pretty acidic, which only adds to the irritation, and the carbonation can contribute to things backing up the esophagus (hence why a soda makes you burp so much).

      The same thing happens to me whenever I drink too much coffee or an energy drink. The best thing to do is cut back. If you must drink caffeine, try tea, or coffee in moderation. Water poured through leaves or beans will be a lot more natural than all the stuff that gets put into those energy drinks.

Try reading the label, it might have a warning on it like how much it is safe to drink or something, and it will tell you if it is really bad for you or not. Maybe you could try and cut down on the amount you drink and then see if that stops making you feel shaky.

39. QUESTION:
    I need to stay up all night to finish my dissertation... energy drink or pro plus?
    As I have a busy day tomorrow I want to stay up and finish it tonight so in case there are any problems I still have tomorrow as a time cushion to try and sort it. I have 1 can of monster, 2 cans of relentless juices and a packet of pro plus. OBVIOUSLY I WILL NOT TAKE THEM ALL TOGETHER, and do not wish to overlap them or do any harm. If anything would rather use one if it will last for the whole of the night.

    I will probably be able to catch a few hours sleep in the morning if tonight goes well. I just don't want to sleep and try and wake up early as I have failed to do so these past few days and ended up wasting alot of time.

    My question is what should I take? And if I need to take more than one thing to get through the night what should I take first and how long until I should take the next thing?

    I am about to eat a light snack as I haven't had dinner, and I am a tall, curvy girl so I am assuming I wouldn't be as at risk of negative side effects as a little skinny girl on an empty stomach but I guess you never know.

    NB. I am not a tea or coffee drinker, so don't usually have caffeine in any form. I have used pro plus and energy drinks before on separate occasions and have not reacted badly to either.

      I would stick to the energy drinks they would have a greater effect. However they may make you a bit jittery and your cocentration levels will fall because obviously your body is going to be tired. I would suggest eating something as well but nothing to heavy as that might make you sleepy as well.

      You shouldn't give her an energy drink. Sure, it will hyper you guys up for a while, but after a bit you all will have an intense crash. That would just ruin the birthday party for all of you guys.

      Stick with soda or head to a local coffee shop and get a drink with coffee in it.

    I'm going crazy, where can I meet girls my age? (19yo)?
    I'm getting so frustrated. I'm good looking, bright, fun, and good with women yet I am not meeting any girls. Obviously this is to my own fault.     15yoa Cocker Spaniel,on Meds for Heart Problems,3 days ago became weak. Will eat and drink, but has no energy
    Dog takes Enacard and Lasix, and is under the care of a vet. Due to the heart problem the vet is reluctant to do anything else. She is loving and kind, can still walk short distances. Looking for someone who might have gone through this and can tell us if there is some type of medication, vitamins, homeopathic remedies, B-12 shots, etc. Any true and honest help would be greatly appreciated.       I have had several dogs myself and I do love them. I do know that once the heart gets weak, it usually can never go back to what it once was. One of my dogs died of CHF and I also have a cocker. It is encouraging that your dog still eats. I know of nothing that can be done to prolong the inevitable.       Ok, I think when she is talking energy drinks, she is probably more referring to energy drinks like Gatorade or Shakley's energy drink. Monster drinks and the like are loaded with sugar, caffeine and the like that will actually dehydrate you and deplete your body of needed nutrients not to mention the caffeine can cross the placental barrier. Look for sports drinks like Gatorade or Shakley's. I'd also recommend Emergen-C (you can find them in the supplements section in Walmart). Raspberry Leaf Tea is also good at the beginning of labor. Some people think it shortens labor, but this may or may not be true...

    Foods with testosterone?
    I've heard that there are some foods that contain testosterone, which I am interested in consuming. What are some of these foods? Is there an energy drink or something with it (like a men's version of go girl, a sports drink with estrogen)? Serious answers only. Thanks!!

      It doesn't work that way-- eating testosterone won't give you more of it, any more than consuming blood would give you more blood.

      There are foods that help support male sexual and hormonal function, though. Anything high in zinc and selenium is great, as are lean proteins and green leafy vegetables.

      DHEA is a hormonal precursor that some middle aged men take to support testosterone production, but it isn't likely to help a younger man with healthy levels.

      It may be a good idea for you to get your actual level checked: it costs around 0 for the lab work, plus whatever your doctor charges for an office call and drawing the blood. That way, you'd know if your level needs to be increased and if it does, your doctor can write a prescription.

    what are the chances I have this? and is my girlfriend at risk?
    A few months ago, during the winter. I wanted to try smoking weed for the first time. I went over my friends, and we smoked weed. We used a joint, and an energy drink can, and shared the same joint/energy drink can.

    that girl is said to have herpes, by other kids. but i'm not 100% sure if she even has it. I was told that, because she "has" herpes, and we shared a joint/can, that I could have possibly gotten it. that and the fact I kissed the girl.

    I currently, have absolutely NO sexual experience, so the chance of genital herpes, HIV, etc is completely out of the question and this would solely be 'oral herpes'

    I've tried to get tested, and they said they wouldn't unless I had an outbreak. I've gotten what i suspect could be 'oral herpes'. But i remember always getting those, in the past.

      There is such a thing called oral herpes but most people call it cold-sores and are caused by the HSV 1 virus 80-90% of adults have this virus and is most often caught in childhood and some people get the sores only to not get them when older so no i wouldn't be too concerned if you do come out with cold sores you normally have a warning sign like an itchy lip or a tingling feeling this is the time not to kiss anyone as the virus is active and can spread also when a cold sore is present it is highly contagious so you avoid kissing until the whole lip area has healed and never perform oral sex when the above things are happening as this causes genital herpes.your girlfriend prob ably has the virus herself as so many people do have it but always avoid kissing at those times just in case she doesn't.
      as for sharin cups smokes etc you have a low chance of catching hsv1 as the virus dies very quickly away from the body within seconds so to catch a cold sore/hsv1 you would have to drink straight after an infected person has drank/smoked and from the very same spot.
      for more information look up hsv 1/cold sores on the net there is a small chance of spreading it without a coldsore present but as a rule hsv1 does not transfer often that way BUT has happened this risk tends to e more in the first few years of having the virus,

      I have read all that you have written, and I have to say even a person with a std is clean. Some just don't know where they got it. Trusting the other person and not knowing if they have it also.

      Now, to answer your question, You should come out and tell your wife that you will do these things without her and find the friends who will enjoy your company. That she can either come along and have fun or she can stay home and sew.

      Also, even if a person has a std, they ARE STILL CLEAN.

50. QUESTION:
    I'm 38. Drink 30 drinks of gin a week. Have more energy than a 15 yr old. No health problems. Why?
    I am a 38 year old male. I excercise everyday for about 2 hours biking up very steep hills and have more energy than I did when I was 16.
    The question I have is that I drink anywhere from a bottle to a bottle and a half. 17-30 drinks a week. Mostly gin. I do so at night and I eat when I drink.
    I sleep 8 hours a night and I have never even had a cold that I can remember.
    The problem is that my girl friend is worried I am killing myself by drinking so much.
    I had a liver test done and cat scan everything and the doctor said I am in perfect health. But she says I should get a second opinion.
    I have been drinking like this for about 20 years or so. Never missed a day of work. Had a Dui or anything. I can stop cold turkey for a month and it doesn't bother me no to have the alcohol. The main reason I drink is it relaxes me and allows to wind down because I have an incredible amount of energy.
    I don't know where it comes from but I can bike for hours and not get tired. Run 20 miles and still want more. Do you think there is something wrong with my lifestyle and is it going to kill me?

      Exercising is great and it's good that you're staying active.
      However, drinking 17-30 drinks a week is classed as binge drinking. It means that technically speaking you are an alcoholic.
      It doesn't surprise me that you're in denial that there's a problem. Alcohol dependence is almost always accompanied by denial that there is a problem.
      A huge indication should be that you have to drink much more than an average person to achieve a "buzz". Unfortunately, until you are willing to entertain the idea that there may be a problem, there's nothing more that can be done.

      Liver problems can creep up on you and not every test is accurate (please read up on test validity, sensitivity and specificity).

      Even if you're the picture of health today, in a weeks time you might find you have liver cancer, bowel cancer, or any of the other cancers alcohol is associated with. You may also wake up with gynecomastia, aka man boobs, an unfortunate side effect of the increase estrogen associated with drinking alcohol.

      Your girlfriend obviously cares about you dearly to bring your drinking up, why not humor her by cutting back, or consider an alcoholics anonymous meeting? At the very least it can give you a new perspective as to why she feels this way.
