QUESTION:
What are some Healthy Energy Drinks unlike Redbull and Monster?
Drinks that are healthy and give you energy without caffeine, sugar, and so on like Red Bull. Healthy energy drinks such as FRS but ones that you can buy in stores at walmart or something. If you ever tried any, what are the results and what drinks would you recommend?-
ANSWER:
I would not recommend any of these energy drink out there on the market. All these energy drinks like nano vapor and red bull rely heavily on caffeine. Therefore, you can expect some kind of crash after a little while.I have tried almost all of these, and I am not going to lie, they did give me an adrenaline rush and I was literally all over the gym, maxing almost every machine out and lifting my personal best. But I literally dropped dead on the couch when I went back home after a couple of hours.
And not to mention, these drinks are diuretics, meaning they make you pee more often by temporarily preventing ADH hormone from reabsorbing water in the kidneys.what you should do instead is changing your diet. If you are planning to do athletic activities, you should increase your protein and water intake while training period. Also you'll aid from a good amount of fruits (especially the ones rich in vitamins like apples and oranges), veggies, meat, and fish.
While competing you should start with water, and then switch to electrolytes like Powerade or Gatorade. If you are competing in high intensity and short events like power lifting, sprinting, or discuss throw etc., you can jump start your creatine intake after consulting a medical professional.
If you are just wanting to last through the day energetically, I would recommend increased amount of fruits and vegetables (or juices) instead of all that red bull crap.
Trust me, all these energy drinks do more bad than worse.

QUESTION:
Are there any healthy energy drinks out there?
I like Red Bull, but I know it's bad for the heart. Are there any natural energy drinks out there that are not harmful? Someone suggested Acai fruit drink, but I don't know what it is or how effective it is.
Any recommendations are appreciated.-
ANSWER:
XS Energy Drink... it isn't sold in stores, rather sold through independent distributors (weird, I know... but I'm glad I found one!)You may find this interesting since you are a Red Bull fan:
http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/242794/xs_energy_drink_vs_red_bull_which_one.htmlAnyways, here are some specs on XS:
0 Carbs
0 Sugar
8-12 Calories
4900% Vitamin B12Flavors include:
1. Rootbeer Blast - also comes as Caffeine Free
2. Cranberry-Grape Blast — also comes as Caffeine Free…
3. Tropical Blast - also comes as Caffeine free
4. Citrus Blast
5. Cherry Blast
6. Electric Lemon Blast
7. Tea-Berry Blast
8. Cola Blast
9. Black Cherry Cola Blast
10. Peach Tea BlastI really like the Peach Tea and Cranberry-Grape.
But again, you have to buy through a distributor. But the good news is that the company the distributor gets it from, Quixtar, offers 100% money back guarantee on all of it's products (and I've tested this... lol -- they give prepaid return postage which is nice)
Here's where I get mine from, hopefully this helps:
http://ehines1.qhealthzone.comI'd be more than happy to give you the guy I buy through's email address if you email me. He gives out free samples so maybe you can take advantage of that... it wouldn't hurt

What are some Healthy (Non Energy) Drinks?
Drinks that are healthy and give you energy without caffeine, sugar, and so on like Red Bull. Such as FRS but ones that you can buy in stores at walmart or something. If you ever tried any, what are the results and what drinks would you recommend?-
ANSWER:
Not all energy drinks are actually bad for you. Redbull, Monster, No Fear are all load with sugar and crap. I drink xs Energy Drinks and they are pretty awesome. No fat, no sugar, no carbs…just a good mix of B vitamins. They also have like 12 different flavors unlike Redbull or Monster where they all taste the same. ANSWER:
Glaceau VitaminWater (any flavor; 20 oz bottle)

33 grams sugarVitamins and water might sound like the ultimate nutritional tag team, but what the label doesn’t say is that a bottle of this stuff carries nearly as much sugar and calories as a can of Coke. QUESTION:
Healthy energy drinks?
Me and my BF are going to be hitting the gym starting November. We are going to be working out around 4am. He has to go directly to work afterward, I will be going to school and then work. I will be getting off work around 8pm. I am probably going to be needing an energy drink and i dont want anything really harsh cuz i dont like them (monsters and redbulls). I normally drink coffee but i dont know how healthy that is. Um, does anyone know any good drinks? Are vitamin waters any good? Idk... any good suggestions?-
ANSWER:
I use to do Martial Arts for many years and I can tell you I have tried many things out there and your best bet is to steer clear of all those hyped up drinks. They are full of things that have proven to not be that good for you. Sugars and other chemicals and crap.I think you just need to make sure you are hydrated with water- sports drinks are full of sodium. Eat a piece of fruit or make a fruit shake to go or juice. if you have a juicer you can add in some veggies and fruits and make the drink for afterwards.

QUESTION:
Can eating healthy or drinking energy drinks reduce ADD/ADHD symptoms?
Or having a good night's sleep? From my own observations, it seems that I tend to be more focused and pay attention better after eating or doing certain things.
When I don't have a good night sleep I have difficulty hearing what people are saying, it's like my mind blocks them out intentionally for some reason.
If I don't eat right, I become self-absorbed and become less alert to the environment around me (bad for driving!).
If I don't drink an energy drink on a work day I am more prone to passive-aggression and holding grudges against others, and fail to be more openminded and see things from other peoples' point of view. I also have a harder time pleasing customers when I don't have an energy drink to give me the boost.
But is there any scientific reason why this is? Am I just off on everything?
-
ANSWER:
I think eating less sugar and less artificial coloring and flavoring can reduce the problems associated with this disorder. Eating healthy can make you feel better and when you feel better you will sleep better.

QUESTION:
Are low-carb energy drinks healthy?
I was wondering if the low-carb energy drinks(like monster)are healthier for you then the regular ones?-
ANSWER:
Carbs come from all sorts of foods and ingredients like sugar, bread, potatoes. A lot of carbs have lots of calories and so less carbs means less calories a lot of the time. Usually reducing carbs means taking out the sugar and putting in substitute sugar like diet coke etc. Splenda seems to be a good substitute for sugar without giving you carbs and calories. I've been told that XS has no carbs or sugar in it and it has like 10 calories.
http://jcheung1.qhealthzone.com/Products/Thumbnail.aspx?ctg=12945&ast=406320&rtl=12918
You can look at that for more info. I know Red bull has like 27 grams of sugar and 110 calories so you take in more than you burn. That's probably why low carb energy drinks are better.

-
QUESTION:
We all talk about good diet and stuff, but is it healthy to drink energy drinks like red bull?
What is the pros and cons? Any facts?-
ANSWER:
Absolutely not. NO. NEVER. It's like drinking 20 cups of coffee all at once. It can cause all kinds of problems. When the caffeine wears off you crash and feel 10 times worse. Water, or flavoured water is much better for you.

QUESTION:
what is a healthy pace to drink energy drinks?
I've been drinking one amp energy a day for the past 3 days. I have 3 left. I was just wondering if that was very unhealthy or if it was perfectly fine.-
ANSWER:
to be honest, its not very healthy at all.energy drinks are all fine and good for a boost of energy, but by no means should you be having one a day. not only is that a lot of sugar and calories, but there aren't a lot of nutrients in there for your body to function properly.
i worked in a kung fu school for five years and my co-worker would have a monster energy drink in place of a meal all the time. this almost gave him an ulcer. and even bumping into him near his stomach area would cause him extreme pain.
everything in moderation and for energy drinks... even less is more.

QUESTION:
Healthy Energy drinks?
I'm headed into a CRAZY year this next year, with school work, and everything else I've got crammed into my year, and I'm gonna need some non natural energy. But so many of those energy drinks are just full of empty calories and junk that'll cause you to crash just a little while later, I need some healthy alternatives. What do you guys suggest that'll keep me going through the hectics days, without making my 15 pounds heavier?-
ANSWER:
I'd suggest sleeping whenever possible. You may have to make some changes in your schedule and not involve yourself in a few social activities, but try to pare down your calendar to afford yourself healthy sleep. There are no energy drinks that aren't jam-packed with sugar and calories. They all have that stuff, that's why they're all unhealthy for you. Fight through and get sleep.
Try turning the tv off.

QUESTION:
What is a healthy replacement for energy drinks that will give similar effect?
My husband drinks 3-5 daily and has horrible headaches when he doesn't...help please!-
ANSWER:
Your husband is a caffeine addict. It's the classic pattern - high caffeine consumption and horrible headaches when he doesn't get enough caffeine. So the answer depends on whether you want to cut back on the sugar and other unhealthy additives while leaving caffeine consumption the same (he'd still get headaches) or cut back on caffeine consumption. If you want a healthy high-caffeine drink, the obvious answer is coffee. Black coffee has no calories, specialty coffee tastes good black, and most energy drinks are only coffee strength (obscured by energy drinks coming in cans the size of two mugs). 5-10 mugs a day should replace the energy drinks. If black coffee is too bitter, put some milk and sugar in it, but those add calories. Fancy coffee drinks are as bad as energy drinks!
An exotic alternative, if he really hates the taste of coffee or has a bad reaction to coffee in particular, is matcha - Japanese tea ceremony tea. Matcha is the tea that goes into green tea ice cream and green tea drinks, so if he likes those he's likely to like matcha. Matcha is also the healthiest drink at that caffeine level. The major problem with matcha is the expense; good matcha typically starts around an ounce (enough for about 15 American-sized cups) and goes up from there, while should buy you at least 40 cups' worth of very good coffee. Super-premium matcha can run over an ounce! (Cheaper matcha exists, but it's sold as a cooking ingredient and not intended to be drunk on its own. Not that you can't.)
If the goal is cutting back on the caffeine, the idea would be to drink a bit less energy drink a day - substitute a small can of Red Bull for a 16-ounce can of Monster, drop the can, substitute a can, and so on. That's a fast schedule (effectively dropping 1 cup of coffee per day), so staying at each level for a day might work better. The important thing is that quitting caffeine cold turkey is rarely the best idea.

Vitamin Water is just a marketing push to make it seems like a good idea. It has very little amount of vitamins and a lot of sugar making the drink worthless. It is NOT a drink for running because the high sugar content.I drink Nutrilite Sports Drinks. There is no preservatives, no artificial flavors, no artificial colors, and no high-fructose corn syrup in the Nutrilite drinks. It also as antioxidant benefits. Are Energy Drinks A Healthy Substitute For Fizzy Drinks?
im trying to lose a bit of weight and trying too figure out what i can use as replacements so are energy drinks good or bad in that respect?i plan on exercising also.

-
ANSWER:
No. Energy drinks cause heart problems and are just really bad for your overall health. Substitute fizzy drinks with juices that are not processed or water. Such ingredients to help you know that it is processed are corn syrup, high fructose corn syrup, bleached, enriched, unbleached, and hydrolyzed. These ingredients also apply to foods too. Since you're trying to lose weight just eat more fresh foods and don't eat out all the time.

The active ingredients include about 500% vitamin B6, 3000% vitamin B12, Taurine, and some other things. I had one for the first time yesterday and about 2 hours afterwards I had a few hot flashes and then about 3 - 5 hours afterwards I felt like working out. I actually broke my record doing push-ups? Does anyone know anything about this energy booster?-
ANSWER:
It isn't as bad for you as the other energy drinks tend to be but it is not quite the best. The best one that I have tried is called Blue-Rez and is similar to 5 hour energy but has a major advantage. It has resveritral and blueberry extract. If you don't know about resveritral do a search on resveritral and 60 minutes to see a report they did early last year. Resveritral is in the skin of grapes and is what makes red wine so good for you. If you want to try some go to livinity.com/harris and click on products and then blue-rez.

What gives Energy drinks their charactersitic flavor?
The flavor employed in energy drinks (such as Red Bull) is currently found in almost every energy drink. I'm wondering if anyone knows how to this make flavor or knows from where it is acquired. I'd like to add it to my healthy homemade energy drink for my family.xx.

ANSWER:
It's probably either taurine or ginsing, or possibly a combination of the two. Energy drinks are always loaded with that stuff.

QUESTION:
is the energy that energy drinks give healthy? if not why not?
please help!
-
ANSWER:
Yes and no.Most energy drinks are basically suped up sodas. They put in just enough B Vitamins to offset what the caffeine removes. They often put in taurine and ginseng. Taurine is an amino acid that makes up all other amino acids and is in hour heart muscle, nervious system, skeletal muscles, white blood cells, and bile. It is becuase it is in the bile that makes most people think it is not good for us, but they are WRONG!. It really is the extra sugar and caffeine and calories that make most energy drinks considered bad for us. Gurana is often added too and is necessary for us but many consider it bad as well because it has a high caffeine content.
Now healthy energy drinks don't use sugar, they have many more B Vitamins, and have a reduced amount of caffeine. That in conjuction with using other beneficial and natural stimulants like taurine and ginseng. The healthy ones don't use guarana simply because of the high caffeine not becuase it is bad for us.
The 3 healthy ones out there that I always mention are XS Energy, 5 Hour Energy, and Stacker's 6 Hour Power. If asked to recommend just one I recommend XS. They pioneered the healthy energy drink 6 years ago and are considered the countries only premium energy drink. Top shelp for those in the bar industry.
They have 0 sugar, 0 carbs, and 8 calories. They have 10 great tasting flavors and 3 of them have caffeine free versions. Because of their pioneering the healthing energy drink and having such a large variety and a taste that can't be beat is what makes them the fastest growing and the 2nd largest selling in the US. They even back up their product. If you are not happy return the unused case for free and get a refund. How can you serioiusly beat that?
5 Hour Energy and 6 Hour Power have the benefit of being found in any retail outlet though so some people do prefer to get those.
