Jolt Energy Drink

Today more than ever people are way busier than they have time for. The stress of kids, careers and trying to have a personal life take up all of our time. Staying alert for it isn't a new idea, though. People all over the world have been getting a jolt of energy with a cup of coffee or tea in the morning for hundreds of years. Myth 1. Energy drinks speed up your metabolism.
Along with the jolt of energy you feel with energy drinks you're also getting a jolt of calories and sugar. Any calories you burn from increases in activity are more than offset by the calories you got by drinking it in the first place. Just because your heart is pounding doesn't mean you're losing weight

Myth 2. You can sober up faster by drinking energy drinks.

Bartenders know that when you give caffeine to someone to sober them up what you end up with is a wide awake drunk. You might think you're sober because you're suddenly more alert but this is a false sense of sobriety. Even worse, you will actually sober up slower because caffeine slows down the burning of alcohol in your bloodstream.

Myth 3. Energy drinks help you with your workout.

You do get an initial rush of energy when you drink one of those little cans but it doesn't last long and then you experience the sugar crash. Since your body needs hydration during exercise you might be encouraged to drink another one. You not only don't get the water you need but you're adding way more calories than you're burning.

The bottom line on energy drinks is that taken in small doses they won't do you any harm. When taken in moderation, energy drinks do seem to give you quick energy when needed. A healthier, cheaper alternative is just to eat an apple. An apple contains sugar for energy but the fiber slows down its' absorption so you're getting a measured dose and not causing an extreme blood sugar shock. Plus, you'll be getting energy, fiber and vitamins while avoiding the sugar and caffeine.

    I drank a energy drink called Jolt one night. there was 220 jolts of caffiene and on my way home from riding my horse i felt very sick and dizzy. The next night after i was done with my horse i felt sick again. i have never felt sick riding my horses so that cant be it.

      Well, it sounds as if you have a yucky stomach bug to me. Usually that's where the dizzy, nauseous feeling comes from.

      However, there is a slim possibility that your body doesn't handle that much caffeine too well. Some people actually get a major 'drop' after drinking those. The taurine or guarana (if it's in there) could also be causing it. The only way to really know is to try another energy drink again. If you don't get these same effects, then you'll be able to rule that out. =) I hope you feel better soon.

      21 years ago i worked for 7-11 and i drank jolt cola and ate glazed donuts. i didn't have a problem staying awake at all. i can't drink it anymore because it is made with corn syrup. i am allergic to corn and wheat. you can't imagine what i can't eat anymore.

      Well energy drinks are full of preservatives and chemicals along with ingredients similar to caffine (Such as guanine, ginsing etc) they also have excess amounts of sugar that you really don't need in your system.

      Ok, I will be very honest here. I think that if that is all you drank for a month you would probably lose about 20kgs but I know that it is very hard to not actually eat food and you will get a very sore and sick feeling stomach that wont be very nice. Also, the down side is that after the month once you start to eat normal again you will put a lot of the weight back on as your body will only be use to you drinking.

      Also, after the first couple of days of not eating your body will go into a shut down mode which means that for a while you will not lose any weight as your body is scared that it will not get another meal so it stores all of the food in your stomach as fat to help energy levels. You you may actually end of putting on more weight instead of losing it.

      Sorry to put a downer on your idea but I really think if you are going to only eat one thing and try to lose weight dramatically, you should just eat fruit all day and drink water.

      Jolt works pretty good. I prefer Ripit, but they're hard to find. Most of my friends swear by Monsters, but I don't like the taste. As for how long til you crash, it just depends on how much you drink. But the more you drink, the harder the crash when it does happen.

      I know this is kinda vague, but it's the best I've got.

      Your initial reaction may have been from too many stimulants. It depends on how closely you had them together. If within like 2 hours it is possible. If longer than that not likely.

      What you need to do is to go back to your doctors. There is no way that anything that 2 energy drinks may have possibly caused over a week ago is still affecting you. Even if you are allergic to something in it then you would be over that by now too.

      I wold still ask for some allergy tests based on the ingreidients. But other than that ignore the fact that you had 2 jolts in a day. There is something else wrong with you.

      It appears this drink contains preservatives needed for lasting shelf life and ingredients needed for flavor. There are no animal by-products or other ingredients, which could make this a non-Vegan drink.

      I would limit yourself to about 2 a day, depending on how sensitive you are to caffeine. Energy Drinks aren't BAD for you though, sure they have a lot of sugar, but many things do! If you swish with water or brush your teeth after drinking them, then there's no damage really done. Jolt Power Cola has 220mg of caffeine per bottle, which is about 2-3 cups of coffee, so you can gauge your caffeine intake that way. I'd also cut back on normal soda if you drink Jolt, as Jolt is like soda, and too much can be bad for you (anything in excess is).

      There are numerous issues with any energy drink, especially in this day and age where all the energy drinks compete to be the best and the strongest. Caffine overdoes is a big problem that can cause increased heart rate, migrane, dizziness, disorintation. If you suffer any of these symptoms after drinking an engery drink, you must go to a hospital. It scary enough and a big enough problem that engery drinks even carry warning labels.

      And I'm not kidding either. My boyfriend wound up in the ER on my birthday from drinking a RedLine energy drink.

      Honestly, if you don't know that energy drinks make you feel like crap afterwards, then your mum has every right to be pissed. Yes it is a normal side effect, and I wouldn't suggest drinking energy drinks on a regular basis. They have a high caffeine content, and leave a weird taste in your mouth after.

      I've heard a story of drinking it and eating glazed donuts. He was wired and full of gases do pass. The problem is that it is made with corn syrup, which is horrible for the health.

    I love the regular Monster, because it usually gives me a good buzz, and tastes fairly good. I also love the energy drink Jolt, it tastes like regular soda. You can get them both at Sunoco. (gas station)

      I LOVE ROCKSTAR!!! usually the sugar free version, but in this one you can notice the taste of the sugar replacement. the original is good and for taste I like the "Juiced" version. as for the buzz, in order:
      1. Rockstar original
      2. Sugar free
      3. Juiced
      you can get these at almost any convienence or grocery store.
      there's also a not so popular brand called NO2 - also sugar free, not sure if it comes with, AWESOME buzz with this one - but so far have only found it in the Big Lots stores.

      Because when you were relaxing at home, you werent doing anything to burn off all that energy so all that extra energy caffene and sugar made your blood rush and heart rate pump quik causing your face to burn with all the blood rushing, next time try drinking half of it or less. or dnt do it at all.

      I have never had the orange kind before but the orginal jolt cola I have many times. I would say that as long as the bottle or can is intact and has no rust or any way for air to get into it, it should be fine more than likely.

      Yeah, I try to stay away from any energy drink out there..It's loaded with tons of caffeine and other things that make your heart rate sky rocket..If you need energy during the day, try getting more sleep and eating better and you won't need some fake energy booster.

      Unplug the A/C from it and, also remove the battery from it..
      Try to dry as much as you can and let it set for a day or so.
      You really need to give it a chance to be sure no liquid got inside before you attempt to use it.
