   Myfiance and I LOVE Rockstar energy drinks, but we can't find them ANYWHERE anymore. They used to be in gas stations everywhere, Wal Mart, grocery stores, etc. Now, everywhere we look, all we can find is stupid Bookoo in the place where Rockstars once were. Is anyone else having this problem? Does anyone know where to find them now? We went to a gas station last week (where a couple of friends had found a few cases) and they said that Rockstar was going out of business. We bought the last 3 cases that they had (2 juiced, one regular). It's insane because they had just started selling the purple Juiced and then a month later, no Rockstars ANYWHERE!      You might not have had such a big dose in the past.

      Simple answer is that they simply charge a lot for the product and by the time the retailer has their cut the final price is really high. There is no reason other than attempting to create an image for themselves.

      Unlike alot of other energy drinks, Rockstar actually has a good citrus flavor. But they don't give you energy, they just make you burn what you have up faster. The high levels of caffeine pretty much wipes out a lot of nutrients in the body and the nutritional imbalances will lead to sores in the mouth, insomnia, muscle spasms, cramps in the legs and feet., difficulty concentrating, weakness in the legs and knees, increased suceptablility to desease, and many more.
      If he has any of these symptoms, try to get him to have a caffeine cut-off time in the evening, point out that he will sleep better if he lets some of it clear his system. I use to get really bad muscle spasms at night, and since I stopped drinking or eating any thing with caffeine after 5 PM, the spasms have stopped.

      It really depends on each person's body and how often they consume energy drinks. People who drink energy drinks daily tend to have a smaller effect on the product. As for me... I drink it occasionally such as during finals every semester (approximately every 3 months) and i drink it daily during those times... It generally lasts me a good 3-4 hours.

    Lexapro the antidepressent, with Rockstar, Redbull, or Monsters. I've drank redbull with it before and of course I felt hyper and awake, not really sick or bad but I've heard it can make you pass out and even have to go to the hospital. And I'm not saying like regular basis but like once a week maybe even a monthn.

      I am not currently on Lexapro, I take some other things, but when I did take Lexapro I still drank Rockstar with no issues. I usually ave 1 to 2 a day, I take a break every once in a while for a week or so. Just make sure you also drink plenty of water.

    What is the most serious side effect you have experienced from consuming Rockstar Energy Drinks?

      Mine was from Red Bull but, brain seizures. That came from the added stress/alcohol though. Thought I was going to die. But your okay if you just have one or two without the alcohol or lack of sleep. Still not healthy, but If you want side effects, it would be..you not being used to normal(rather needing to be stimulated in order to think and do). and the other would be long term but mostly unknown at this point.       So, 3 16 oz. cans contain 660 calories, 174 grams of carbs (162 of them pure sugar), and 294 mg of caffeine.

      That's a massive amount of nothing good. It's as much caffeine as three cups of coffee. It's more calories than a Big Mac with as many carbs as almost four of them. It's two Mrs. Fields White Chunk Macadamia cookies calorie-wise with as much sugar as six of them. Instead of 60% of its calories coming from carbs (as is healthy) 100% comes from carbs.

      This is extra calories and simple carbs not offset by any protein or even carbohydrate complexity. It's pure energy which means that it's bad for you in two ways: 1) to the extent that you are not getting these calories from healthful sources, you are not eating a balanced diet including protein; 2) to the extent that you are not burning off these calories with exercise, they (along with all of the calories over 2,500 that you eat per day) will turn into fat.

      They aren't too good. They amount of sugar and caffeine are too much. You can feel really up and then crash and feel twitchy and tired. It isn't healthy to have that much sugar in a drink.
      You could become irritable, irrational, moody, tired, troubled, have trouble deciding and making decisions.

      I tried them and am not able to drink any of those hi energy drinks. They contain to much caffeine. More then a cup of coffee. This give most people heart palpitations. It's scares me when I get this bad feeling. I get this for a full day and I fell like I am dying. If you are to skinny I would not drink it your body might not be able to take this side affect and you might half to go to the doctor.

      MOST drinks have 16 teaspoons per 12 oz drink. Rocksta is usually 16 - 24 oz so multiply by 1.5 or 2 to get the appropriate serving size.

      Energy drinks do NOT give you energy, they trick your brain into thinking it by a combination of substances, most of which are very bad for your body long term. Having a drink now and then, is probably ok as long as you dont fall into the risk groups.

      Long term usage is known to cause depression. They are known to decrease cognitive ability and ability to concentrate.

      I don't think they are really targeting to any particular age group, just to people who like caffeinated drinks. I see just as many adults drinking them as kids and teenagers. I would say they appeal to young adults because young adults usually work and don't get enough sleep, so they feel like they need stimulants like caffeine.

    I breastfeed and also drink 2 rockstar energy drinks a day, is there any danger in this?

    • ANSWER:
      Two is fine. I am also breastfeeding and while in the hospital I explained to the lactation consultant my love of soda and she told me it was fine to have it but try to limit it. If I have to much, the baby lets me know! No danger, just a hyper baby!

49. QUESTION:
    Why is there no Rockstar Energy drink sold here in Singapore?
    I was wondering why can't they ship in these energy drinks (i.e Rockstar, Monster) here? Does it contains some illegal ingredients or what? I am so curious to know the taste of these energy drinks.

      I lived in Malaysia about 10 years ago and at one point there was a big story about a golfer dying because of an ingredient in red bull... This may have something to do with it.
      Singapore is very strict so it's hard to tell, you may be able to drive somewhere else and buy a large supply...

50. QUESTION:
    Rockstar energy?
    okay me and my friend went to this store to buy a Rockstar energy drink.. and the lady at the counter told us we needed parental premission. This is the only store we ever went to that asked that. Is there some kind of "age limit" on that drink. She also said we needed premission for amps, stackers and monsters, not bookoos.

    • ANSWER:
      There is no actual age limit on energy drinks. Although they were not designed for kids and the makers recommend for them to not be used by kids.

      Some store owners or clerks may decide to take it upon themselves to not sell them to kids for this reason. Or sometimes some parents will approach a store and ask them not to sell to kids.
