- Under normal dosage regimes, a little Glycophos goes a long way. - Glycophos is non-addictive and is not dependency forming. It can be stopped whenever and can be resumed at will.

- Glycophos has been investigated by the British Olympic Committee and has been cleared as not contravening the international unnatural substances and drug regulations for sports bodies. The Advantages of Taking StarGate NutritionTM GlycoPhos Glycophos allows the body to convert its own energy resources into actual energy with minimal calorie increased intake. Thus actually providing the person with a boost of energy without the need for increased carbohydrate intake. This has a number of advantages.

Many foodstuffs require 1 to 1.5 hours to allow release of their energy store. This is often too late for the energy low.

GlycoPhos TAKES 10 TO 20 MINUTES AND LASTS FOR ABOUT 4 HOURS ordinary food lasts 2 to 2.5 hours.

Why is StarGate Nutrition TM Glyco-Phos Plus* so unique?

Based on scientific research, the human body gets its energy from ATP (Adenosine-Tri-Phosphate). The body generates ATP from complex ingredients found in food. Glyco-Phos includes these complexes in a highly concentrated form. The result is a food concentrate that supplies 5 times the energy normally found in a breakfast meal (without the bulk of food). It is also believed that the missing link in the Phosphagen cycle is a combination of Ribose and Creatine.

Independent studies show that the base formula in Glyco-Phos supplies 4 times more energy than Fructose, produces no hypoglycaemic effect, and has only 36 calories per serving. This formula contains not only Glyco-Phos, but also creatine and ribose.

How Does GlycoPhos Work?

The body breaks down a substance called ATP (adenosine tri-phosphate), in its cells, to produce energy, which can be used by the cell, and a substance called ADP (adenosine di-phosphate). The ADP is then rebuilt back into ATP and is ready to be broken down again to release energy. This process is at the heart of all cell energy release mechanisms. The materials needed to rebuild the ADP into ATP are provided in Glycophos.

Thus the energy release mechanism of the cell is kept primed and ready to do its work. NO OTHER KNOWN PRODUCT ON THE MARKET IS ABLE TO DO THIS. This powerful energy release is called Molecular Energy because a molecule is split to provide it, just as Atomic Energy is released by splitting an atom.

How Do I Use StarGate NutritionTM GlycoPhos? There is no fixed dose. There is, however an optimum dose. This means that there is a dose that works best in given circumstances. For the ordinary person requiring support for their dietary regime or just requiring a little extra energy boost a dose is 10 ml desert spoonful of Glycophos.

For those experiencing a 'low' at certain times of the day, this dose should be taken 30 minutes before this. It is strongly recommended that the appropriate dose is taken in an equal mixture of natural spring water and a fruit juice at the dilution of 15ml Glycophos to 100ml (4fl.ozs) of the fruit and water.

This dilution rate is not critical and the rate can be varied to suit taste.

How do I purchase StarGate NutritionTM GlycoPhos?

StareGate Nutrition Glycophos is available in bottles of 125ml. We recommend that a person takes between 15-20 ml (millilitres) when they are not in training and up to 30ml when in full sports training.

I need to get different sports drinks (eg. Lucozade) and say whats good and bad about them and the comapnys that run then. Can anyone help?? Thanx

    • ANSWER:

  2. QUESTION:
What is the Sports Drink Distributor for the Green Bay Packers and how far is it?
For a Project I have to find out the nearest sports drink distributor and the distance to the nearest sports drink distributor.

    • ANSWER:
I would have to think that the Packers would have to follow the same agreement established by the NFL. They have 3 more years remaining on a 8 year contract with Gatoraid.
As for the exact wholesale company used of how far it is, you might need to search for them in the area and ask around to see if someone knows, but it might be Bernicks Wholesale Beverages http://www.bernicks.com/products/products.html
They cover that area, but there might be others.

  3. QUESTION:
Is a sports drink all right to drink instead of water?
I love Gatorade and I drink it all the time. At first my goal was to drink only one soda a day and now all I drink is Gatorade. My question is, I have a bottle of water maybe only three times a week while I drink the sports drink all day. Is this all right? I know water is good for you and you should drink a lot of it, but I just like Gatorade better.

At least I'm not having soda all day, right?

    • ANSWER:
Gatorade is definitely better for you than soda, but it can still be very bad for your health. You really NEED water EVERY day. If all you drink is the Gatorade, you run the risk of throwing your electrolytes out of balance and that may end you up in the hospital. Slow down on the Gatorade. One a day is plenty. Drink way more water - at least 8 eight ounce glasses per day. And since the weather is hot, you should drink a bit more than that. Plus, water doesn't cost anywhere near what the sports drinks do. So not only will you save your health, you'll save money, too!

  4. QUESTION:
What is the best sports drink for running?
I am on a track team so I need to know is the best sports drink.

    • ANSWER:
      I like the Isostar products

  5. QUESTION:
What is the best sports drink for the body and why?
Please I am not asking for an advertisement. I just want to know what the best sports drink is for hydration, working out, and everyday consumption.

    • ANSWER:
Good question, one that is argued by many exercise physicologists every day.
My personal opinion depends upon how active you are, what activity you're performing and for what amount of time.
The best sports drink for hydration is water. Water adds a greater percentage of hydration into your bloodstream ounce for ounce.
Sports drinks are great when you're body is expending a lot of energy. Long distance running, long work-outs, heavy lifting, ect are activities that are acceptable to be consuming sports beverages. Make sure you're choosing one that isn't loaded with calories. Read the back of the labels, anything with over 50 calories per serving (usually 8 oz.) is too many. Gatorade just came out with a "G2" with 70 calories per bottle I believe. This is a great alternative than regular gatorade or vitamin water.
If you're looking for a flavored drink during your non active time look into drinks like Propel, falvored Auqafina and Dasani

  6. QUESTION:
What should I include in a Sports Drink?
I am making an advertisement about an imaginary sports drink for my english assignment. I will advertise it to teenagers and sports people but I don't exactly know what to put into the ads.

So far I have got Scientific evidence, low in sugar and carbs, low calories and high in Vitamin C and no added sugar. Can I improve it?

And what do I include in my ads? The one for teenagers is a TV ad while the Sports people have a print ad.

    • ANSWER:
      electrolytes

  7. QUESTION:
Would anyone buy a sports drink that tastes like a soda? it is planned on being called Vitality.?
I am starting a business plan involving a sports drink that would taste simular to soda. I'm just wanna know how many people would like it. Plus I've been thinking it should be called Vitality, but I wanna know what other's might think up.
    Any suggestions?

    • ANSWER:
I don't care for soda, so, no, I wouldn't buy it. Sorry.

  8. QUESTION:
What is the molarity of the sugar in this sports drink?
A sports drink contains 27 grams of sugar (C6H12O6) in a 16-oz bottle. Calculate the molarity of the sugar on the product label of this sports drink.

    • ANSWER:
Start off by dividing weight by molar mass to find amount of moles present: 27g/180g/mol = 0.15 mol.
16 oz corresponds to about 0.47L.
If we then divide moles by volume we'll get molarity in mol/L: 0.15/0.47=0.32 mol/L.

  9. QUESTION:
What's healthier and better to drink for an active person, water, juice or a sports drink?
I prefer to drink juice now. I used to devour sports drinks, but now I think juice is better. Opinions?

    • ANSWER:
Hmm, well if you feel as though you need the extra energy (usually from the result of weight lifting), I would personally suggest a sports drink.

If you're doing a lot of cardio, I would suggest drinking water.

What type of juice are you drinking now? If I were you, I would make sure it's low in sugar. If it's not, then I'd give it up. If it is, then keep on drinking it if that's what you prefer.

Be sure to drink 8 glasses of water a day!

  10. QUESTION:
Do you know of a sports drink containing only carbohydrates?
Does anyone know of a sports drink (a specific brand would be optimal) that contains only carbs and no electrolytes? I need it for a project I am working on. It must only be carbs- no electrolytes or protein. Let me know! Thanks!

    • ANSWER:
If it is labeled "Sports drink" it most likely WILL contain electrolytes. That is the idea behind the sports drinks is to replenish electrolytes (salt basically) lost during sweating.

Many other (non-sports) soft drinks contain only carbs, but you probably knew that, lol

  11. QUESTION:
How do I make a Homemade Sports Drink without adding Kool-Aid?
I'm working on a school project and we are trying to produce a Sports Drink to sell. And I need recipes to experiment with to produce the best one

    • ANSWER:
you're experimenting so you can't go wrong. I would try citrus juices and berry juices. If you add sugar, add raw cane sugar.

  12. QUESTION:
Is it better to drink water or sports drinks during a workout?
I always drink water as sports drinks contain too many calories, but then again the calories provide you with the energy for a tough workout.

    I'm in two minds!

    Thank you

    • ANSWER:
During a workout - or any physical activity for that matter - water is the best liquid to drink. Most trainers are now telling their clients to drink a glass of milk after "cool-down" and to skip the sports drinks.

  13. QUESTION:
What is a funny and catchy name for a new sports drink I am producing?
The drink is going to be for all sports and other activities as well.

    • ANSWER:
      play hard, drink harder

  14. QUESTION:
What is the best sports drink to replace electrolytes?
Im after professional advice on which sports drink actually has the best replacement levels of electrolytes. Thanks for the input

    • ANSWER:
UNrefined salt, potassium & ascorbic acid (vit.C) in 6-8 oz of water

I recommend dissolving half teaspoon each of UNrefined salt, potassium & ascorbic acid (vit.C) in 6-8 oz of water & drink every morning to replenish electrolytes. I buy a salt substitute (NuSalt, NoSalt, Morton's Salt substitute, etc) for a cheap form of potassium. This should alleviate fatigue, headaches, dizziness or constipation caused by dehydration. Make sure you drink lots of water.

Refined salt may not be healthy, but UNrefined salt is vital to good health.

Salt and water work together to do important work in your body, including stimulating your metabolism, helping you detoxify, support your adrenals and making sure your nerves, hormones and immune system function properly.

Unrefined salt contains over 80 minerals. Natural (unrefined) Salt is 85 % Sodium Chloride and Processed (refined) Salt is 98 % Sodium Chloride. The refining process ensures that salt won't go rancid, but eliminates all of salt's life-sustaining properties.

Gatorade has bromine which is toxic.

  15. QUESTION:
Any recommendations for a healthy sports drink?
I recently started running and have built up to ~5 miles per day. I know drinking just water isn't healthy and I need to drink a sports drink to maintain appropriate sodium/electrolyte levels. Can anyone recommend something besides Gatorade or Vitamin Water or Powerade? They're all just too sweet for me... Should I just water them down?

    • ANSWER:
Smart water has electrolytes in it

  16. QUESTION:
What is the best powdered sports drink?
I'm looking to buy a powdered sports drink, something like gatorade, to use during work outs and biking. There's a lot of choices, some significantly more expensive to others, so I'd like to see what some people think before I buy something I've never tried before.

I've looked at Accelerade...it sounds good, and I really like that it contains protein, but it's pretty expensive. I then read about Gatorade Endurance...it's much cheaper, but contains no protein, and I've read some user reviews that say it's very acidic and upsets the stomach. Don't want that!

So if you have any opinions, please let me know. I want a powdered drink because you save a lot because of the quantity, and they will not contain high fructose corn syrup like ready made drinks do!
Woah - some of these answers are not on target. I'm looking for a sports drink primarily to use when biking (I go on hour long bike rides, 10-15 miles, sweat a TON), so that's why I don't just want water - I need to replenish electrolytes, which is why I want a sports drink. And what's the main ingredient in all sports drinks, anyway? Water.

And to the guy who mentioned high fructose corn syrup in gatorade...that's why I'm looking for a powder, I mentioned that near the end of my question details. There is nothing wrong with good sugar but HFCS is the worst sugar, which is why I'd like to avoid it.
Red Bull contains tons of caffeine and is absolutely not for hydration during endurance training. Cell-Tech is a premixed creatine formula, not a sports drink, and it's extremely overpriced for what it contains, waaaay too much sugar for a normal sports drink, it's entirely for post-weight lifting supplementation.
Also, for the guy who said to mix whey and casein protein, that is something you don't want to do. Casein is slow absorbing because it "gels" in the stomach, resulting in slower digestion. If you take whey with it, this whey also gets gelled by the casein, preventing the beneficial fast absorption that you would take whey for in the first place. They are to be taken separately.
I make smoothies all the time, except in mine I put frozen strawberries and pineapple, a banana, ice cubes and orange juice. This however, is not a sports drink, certainly not something to drink during endurance sports (read something about fruit juice being detrimental to rehydration).

    • ANSWER:
Man by far Red bull gives ya wings bro im 15 and i have one of those o my God i get like a fat-kid on a candy facory it makes me go like flash damn it you

So red Bull Bro gives ya super speed and wings honestly try one of those

When running cross country, is Powerade/Gatorade/another sports drink better for you than water?
I know these sports drinks are designed for athletes and running for about an hour falls under that category. However knowing the sugar/calorie content of sports drinks is it better for a teen to be drinking them or water before/after/during a run?

Thanks for any answers, much appreciated =]

    • ANSWER:
Well before any running event, you need to eat lots of lean meats and carbs, like in pasta, and water is only necessary before, but after you should drink gatorade or something like it because it replenishes what electrolytes you lose when you sweat.

  28. QUESTION:
Which is a good sports drink to have?
I am football professional and almost have training everyday. Need to know which is a good sports drink to have during my training.

    • ANSWER:
You can try Lucozade Sport drink. Its the only Isotonic drink in India. It will help you in your football training. It has the right level and type of carbohydrates, together with an effective level of electrolytes, to rapidly put back the stuff the body needs during physical activity.

I drink it myself during my workouts. You should definitely try it.

  29. QUESTION:
Nutrition and sports. A sport drink that help you from dehydrating?
I need to invent a sports drink that can be consumed during an activity or a sport. That will be able to give you energy and help you gain electrolytes that you lost from sweat. What ingredients should i put in my drink. that will help it to fit the standards that i need. Is vitamins good?

    • ANSWER:
A basic sports drink consists of carbohydrates in the form of glucose and fructose, water and salt, so I would suggest:

      1 litre water
      250ml orange squash
      couple of pinches of salt

More complex sports drinks such as isotonics work to replace the minerals lost as you sweat. According the the linked site "a litre of sweat typically contains 0.02g Calcium, 0.05g Magnesium, 1.15g Sodium, 0.23g Potassium and 1.48g Chloride". So you could add these to a basic sports drink to create an isotonic drink.

  30. QUESTION:
how do i find electrolytes in sports drink?
    hi
how can i find electrolytes in sports drink? what tests can i perform to find electrolytes in sports drink?

and my second question is, how can i test the sports drink to find out if electrolytes are solid or liquid?

help please :) and this is science :) !

    • ANSWER:
      Hi,
Here's a test that will reveal the solid electrolytes in sport drinks (Total Dissolved Solid test or TDS):
      1. If you want to know how much the solid electrolytes are, weigh the empty beaker.
      2. Put the sport drink into the beaker.
      3. Heat the sport drink inside the beaker (up to 100 degrees Celcius).
      4. The water in which the electrolytes is dissolved will eventually evaporates, leaving the electrolytes in the beaker (because generally, the boiling point of water is lower than the boiling point of electrolytes or other solids).
      5. After all water has been evaporated, the remaining content in the beaker is the solid electrolytes.
If everything is evaporated (i.e. nothing is left in the beaker), there is no solid electrolytes contained in the drink.
      6. If you want to know how much the electrolytes are, weigh the beaker once more and the additional weight is the weight of the electrolytes.

      To check for liquid electrolytes:
      1. Evaporate the sport drink as explained above & condense the evaporated gas.
      2. The condensed gas will become liquid again but will not contain any solid substances (including solid electrolytes).
      3. Check whether that liquid can conduct electricity or not. If it can, it contains liquid electrolytes, if it can't, it doesn't contain liquid electrolytes.

      Hope this helps :)
P.S.: sorry if my English is hard to be understood (coz u said u had problems in understanding my previous answer to your question, remember?)

  31. QUESTION:
Would it be better to drink a sports drink like gatorade or eat a pickle after?
Like a sports drink that has some sodium in it during practice or have a high sodium food like a small pickle after? cause i heard drinks w a lot of salt in them can hake you puff up from water weight ..

    • ANSWER:
Anything salty will do that. Sports drinks are used to replace lost electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride and bicarbonate) due to exercise and illness. So they should not be consumed on a regular basis. Best thing to drink is water.

  32. QUESTION:
Which is the best sports drink in India?
I need to know about sports drink? which is a good one?

    • ANSWER:
      its red bull or gatorade

  33. QUESTION:
where would find a sugar free sports drink?
i'm a diabetic living in the az desert and need a sugar free sports drink to make it through the HOT summers. something like gatorade.

    • ANSWER:
      SUGAR-FREE “SPORTS DRINK”

1 packet or container sugar-free drink mix (to make 2 qts)
      1/4 tsp table salt
4 potassium tablets (99 mg each)
      2 quarts water

Take about 1/4 cup of the water and put in a cup with the potassium tablets. Heat in the microwave until the water gets close to boiling. Stir to dissolve the tablets. Add the salt and stir.

Put the drink mix in a pitcher, add water, and stir until the drink mix is dissolved. Add the salt/potassium solution and mix thoroughly. Chill.

Per 8-oz serving: 5 cal, about 75 mg sodium, 50 mg potassium. ZERO POINTS.

If you’d like less sodium, use a 1/8-tsp measure, and do one level measure plus 1/2 of another. This will cut the sodium to about 55 mg/serving instead of 75. (FYI, 1/4 tsp of salt contains 590 mg sodium.)

This drink tastes just fine… it has the characteristic slight saltiness that one associates with the commercial sports drinks, but it’s not objectionable at all.

  35. QUESTION:
If you were to test the nutrient content of a sports drink or a diet drink that acts as a meal substitution, w
If you were to test the nutrient content of a sports drink or a diet drink that acts as a meal substitution, which nutrients would you expect to find in each? Make your predictions, and then compare your list with the list of nutrients on each product.

    • ANSWER:
A sports drink is a beverage designed to help athletes rehydrate, as well as replenish electrolytes, sugar, and other nutrients, which can be depleted after strenuous training or competition. Companies marketing these products point out the fact that plain water, despite its association with good health, can actually be toxic if consumed in large amounts (cf. water intoxication). This can happen because overconsumption of water reduces levels of electrolytes such as sodium and potassium in the body by dilution, interfering with the nervous system. An example of a sport drink is Powerade, or what is possibly the best known sports drink in the United States, Gatorade, which was introduced in 1966.

Currently the largest growing segment of the sports drink market is non-athletes. This market shift has led some sports drinks manufacturers to specifically target and develop products aimed at non-athletes, such as low-sodium or low-calorie sports drinks. Non-athletes who use sports drinks should also be aware that sports drinks for athletes typically contain high levels of carbohydrates which will result in weight gain if consumed without a corresponding increase in exercise activity.

Sports drinks are not to be confused with energy drinks (e.g. Full Throttle, Lucozade, Mountain Dew AMP, or Monster Energy). Sports drinks are intended to replenish electrolytes, sugar, water, and other nutrients, and are usually isotonic (containing the same proportions as found in the human body). Energy drinks, on the other hand, simply provide lots of sugar and caffeine.

For meal substitution, I like sugar and caffeine. Hey what do you know joe, my favorite sports drink has sugar and caffeine in it. wow, amazing

  36. QUESTION:
What drink can subsitute as a sports drink?
I need a replacement for a sports drink.. NO ENERGY DRINKS.... Will milk or water work?

    • ANSWER:
Yes. Unless you're doing serious, serious exertion, water should be fine. You only need to worry about electrolyte replacement if you're doing something like a marathon. If you want a bit of something in the water that is beneficial, add a bit of orange juice to give it flavor.

electrolyte imbalance - how long for sports drink to take effect?
I'm pretty sure I whacked up my electrolytes last night. Feeling kinda weak/fatigued, twitchy, occasionally mild lightheadedness.
I concocted my own version of a sports drink with a little salt and sugar, and I've been eating things with potassium and calcium.

Just wanted to know how long this might take to take effect and making me feel a little better?

Probably within 30minutes, salt sounds iffy though for a sports drink. Twitches are definitely a lack of potassium. The rest sounds like maybe you're getting sick, or dehydrated?

  42. QUESTION:
How do you know how much sports drink and salt to take in when you are working in the heat?
This is really kinda two questions in one. My friend and I were talking about this.

I work moderately in the heat for at least a few hours a day. I think I will drink about a pint of Gatorade a day, plus other drinks during the day to help replace what I sweated out. Does that seem about right?

I also have a friend who works in a hot factory. The company offers employees water, gatorade, and salt tablets. How would she know when she's using too much of all of that? Is there a ratio that she should try to follow?

    • ANSWER:
Your fluid intake you be adequate to keep your from getting excessive thirsty. Gatorade and other sports drinks do have salt and sugar in them. The sugar may be excessive, particularly if you are not extremely active, but other than excess calories it won't hurt anything. Salt tablets would rarely be necessary. Your body is very good at conserving salt, so unless you get almost not salt in your diet, salt tablets won't really do anything for you.

If you don't like plain water, which is the best fluid for hydration, consider diluting the Gatorade or getting a diet sports drink. Avoid caffeine.

I know all people always say never drink Gatorade when you're not working out. Well Gatorade has like half the sugar and calories of coke(about). So why do these people never tell you about not drinking soda instead of just telling you about something with half the sugar and half the calories and no nutrition value at all.
Well are sports drinks worse if you're not working out, despite that they have less sugar. I heard the electrolytes inside bad.

neither of your beverages are good choices! Beer and Gatorade are full of empty calories! However, if you have to choose the lesser of two evils, go with the sports drink because alchohol blocks the absorbtion of some nutrient or viatamin (i think viatmin K?) which is essential to developing muscle.
