The natural health researchers at Institute for Vibrant Living (IVL) have investigated the natural supplements that can help runners and joggers. Here is their report:
Popular Trend for Athletes
Studies show that more than 50 percent of athletes use dietary supplements. In response, manufacturers market thousand of products that are said to enhance athletic ability. Competitive runners often need supplements for energy, as adequate fuel is essential for proper training and performance.
Supplementation can help provide the energy to run faster and further and may contribute to endurance - the grit needed to finish a race.
Supplements used by competitive and recreational runners include multivitamins; energy-maintenance products; energy gels, beans and bars; sports drinks and protein supplements.
Read on for more information about energy supplements for runners:
Multivitamins - It is essential for athletes to maintain a good ratio of healthy nutrients for peak performance. A daily, high-quality multivitamin supplement ensures the maintenance of this healthy ratio.
One great product for athletes is Liquid Vitamin 528, available at the Institute for Vibrant Living. A powerhouse of high-energy B vitamins, vitamins D, E and A, enzymes, antioxidants and minerals - this product may enhance energy, strength, and focus.
Energy-maintenance products - For daily energy maintenance, the Institute for Vibrant Living also offers All Day Energy Greens which is aonce-a-day, easily digested energy drink containing 38 herbs, herbal extracts and grass juices.
This all-natural supplement is full of essential B vitamins, vitamins A, C and E and protein - all important nutrients for runners.
Energy gels, beans and bars - Experts at Iowa State University recommend getting the majority of pre-run calories from carbohydrates and limiting fats and proteins as they are slower to digest.
They also suggest limiting dietary fiber, which can be upsetting to the stomach during exercise. Energy bars, gels and beans can provide fuel for a run and they may be easier on the stomach than whole foods.
Energy gels are chock full of carbohydrates, sodium and potassium. They are easily portable and come in small packets that can be carried in a pocket or utility belt. Recommended use is 15 minutes prior to and every 30 to 45 minutes during a run.
Energy beans are jelly beans designed for competitive athletes that contain carbohydrates, electrolytes and vitamins B and C. Runners are encouraged to use one packet prior to and additional packets (as needed) during a run to sustain energy levels and prevent dehydration.
Energy bars can be eaten as a snack up to 30 minutes before a run or as part of a pre-run, high-carbohydrate meal, or they can be consumed in bites for quick energy during intense races or training sessions. Like gels and beans, energy bars contain a balance of carbohydrates, electrolytes, vitamins and minerals.
Sports drinks - Primarily, sports drinks are designed to replace water and electrolytes lost through perspiration. They also contain sucrose, glucose or fructose - sugars which help to replenish lost carbohydrates and serve as a source of energy during an intense workout.
Note: Be wary of drinks containing fructose or high fructose corn syrup, as fructose has been linked to an increased risk of heart disease. Also, the citric acid in sports drinks may be damaging to tooth enamel, so it is important to brush twice daily with regular use of these drinks.
Protein supplements -These supplements are designed as a recovery tool for runners, but in order to sustain energy for training sessions and races, it is essential to replenish protein in the body. Protein supplements in the form of a pill or drink restore energy and help to repair and rebuild muscles.
Athletes need to pay special attention to nutrition in order to keep the body working at maximum potential. Supplementation can help to maintain muscles and boost energy for training and race performance.

QUESTION:
ID for 5 Hour Energy at Walmart?
Every time I buy 5 Hour Energy at Walmart, the cashier asks for my ID because it prompts them to. They say you have to be over 18 to purchase it. That's BS. I buy 5HE everywhere and have been doing so for years. Walmart is the only store that requires an ID. It's not a law in my state. You don't need an ID to buy energy drinks or coffee, or really any other nutritional supplement. So why 5 Hour Energy? I asked a Police Officer at my gym if I would get in trouble for giving it to minors and he laughed. One cashier said they need my ID in case of a sting. I told her that isn't going to happen because I could buy it with a kid next to me and give it him right there without any repercussions whatsoever. So why does Walmart have this stupid policy? I have already sent several emails to Walmart over the last year without a single response. It's just a really stupid thing to inconvenience someone over. I told a cashier that if it's so bad then why don't they put it at the checkout with the cigarettes or something? If anyone has some insight on this I would appreciate it. It would make my day to tell the cashier I don't have to show ID and they still have to sell it to me. I know Walmart has some really ridiculous policies and this one has to go.-

QUESTION:
Do I need to do anything about this small cut?
So I have a habit of removing the thing that you press down on when opening a can of soda or energy drink. Anyway, I guess I have something to learn from this, that doing that is a bad idea. I cut myself on the edge (with my index finger) it didn't really bleed much and is like a papercut. Can I just not do anything about it? or do I have to wash it, get a band aid, etc?It stopped stinging too.
-
ANSWER:
You should be fine. Just to be safe, I would wash it with antibacterial soap or some antimicrobial hand rub. Put a standard bandage on it and a small cut like that should be healed within 4-7 days.

QUESTION:
What is Taurine and what does it do?
Energy drinks (like Regain and Sting) have '...50% more taurine than...'Is that like caffine but better?
-
ANSWER:
Taurine, aminoethanesulfonic acid:
is a constituent of bile and can be found in the lower intestine and in the tissues of many animals and in humans.is a derivative of cysteine an amino acid which is one of the 12 acids that form the building blocks of protein.
Urban legend: source of taurine is is bull urine extract and bull semen. While its true that taurine is found in both sources, it is not the source of taurine in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
Taurine can cross the blood brain barrier.
It is possible it helps with manufacturing energy and inhibiting obesity
It may help with epileptic seizures in prevention of them.
It may help with blood pressure control
It may help with anxiety
it may help the conductivity of the heart
it is an anti oxidant
in rats it decreased blood sugar, which if it works in humans could help diabetesThese claims only have limited studies, so more research needs to be done.
In Energy Drinks, it has not been proven to be energy-giving. A study of mice hereditarily unable to transport taurine suggests that it is needed for proper maintenance and functioning of skeletal muscles. Additionally, it has been proven effective in removing fatty liver deposits in humans, preventing liver disease, and reducing cirrhosis in rats.

QUESTION:
Do you know what are your bad habits using the horoscope??
Aries Out in Front
Rams have a habit of pushing to the front of the line, both literally and figuratively. And while this quality has helped Aries get ahead, it can also compromise their relationships. Putting an animal, child or plant in their care can correct the problem. As soon as this sign's nurturing qualities are cultivated, their selfishness will diminish.• Taurean Trash
Bulls love clutter. Being surrounded by all their possessions gives them a sense of security. It also creates headaches, confusion, and chaos. Storage systems that keep their stuff on display will prevent this sign from strewing their stuff all over the house. Stacking baskets, glass jars, and open shelving can promote organization.• Nerve-Wracking Twins
Geminis are the nail-biters of the zodiac. Twins are self-conscious about their hands, and need to keep them busy at all times. Activities like knitting, carving, or bead work provide welcome distractions. Weekly manicures will also keep temptation at bay. Twins are less likely to gnaw their cuticles when they've just paid for their upkeep!• Cancers and the Candyman
If you've ever wondered how Cancers stay so sweet, take a look at their sugar intake. This sign loves cookies, candy, and ice cream. An occasional indulgence is fine, but too much dessert can take a toll on waist lines and energy levels. What Crabs are really seeking is oral gratification. Sugar-free gum or dried fruit provides a healthy distraction from candy crunching.• Lavish Leos
The guy who's sitting next to you in the elegant restaurant, shouting to his personal assistant on his cell phone? Probably a Leo. It's only natural that a sign that is blessed with creativity, charm and wit feels tempted to show off. Actually, this desire to brag is rooted in insecurity. The sooner Lions learn to compliment others, the quicker they'll receive the praise they crave.• Virgos Fear Filth
These nit-pickers sometimes compromise their own pleasure for the sake of perfection. Deep down inside, these folks are really sensualists at heart. They need to learn that it is better to feel good than to look good. Allocating a few minutes each day for fun but messy activities like baking, painting, or sculpting can cure Virgos of their fear of filth.• Libras Love to Shop
Librans gave birth to the term "shopaholic". These folks have every credit card known to man. And while their taste is undeniably impeccable, it can get them in trouble at bankruptcy court. What's really at stake here is a quest for beauty. Enjoying simple but inexpensive pleasures like nature walks and museums can quell the urge to splurge.• Strictly Scorpios
Nobody carries a grudge better than this sign. Unfortunately, hanging on to resentments has a way of crowding out love, happiness, and trust. In order for a Scorpio to let go of anger, they must first practice self-care. Getting a massage every month or writing in a journal each day will soften this sign's heart and enable forgiveness.• Brutally Honest Sagittarius
Archers have a bad habit of telling the truth. And while these folks have the best intentions, that doesn't take the sting out of comments like, "Gee, those pants make you look fat!" or "Were you drunk when you wrote this report?" The best way for Archers to cultivate tact is through prodigious study. Etiquette books will definitely help!• Capricorns Can't Quit
This sign is the original workaholic. Many Capricorns fear that poverty will set in the moment they stop toiling. Keeping a gratitude journal can break this terrible habit. The more Capricorn becomes aware of their non-material blessings, the healthier their behavior will become. No more cutting vacations short for the sake of work!• Antisocial Aquarius
Water-bearers get into the habit of creating completely self-sufficient lives. Unfortunately, this makes it difficult for them to achieve intimacy. Basically, Aquarians are afraid that relationships will compromise their independence. Fortunately, these folks love to experiment. By treating intimacy as an exercise, this sign can relinquish control for the sake of loving relationships.• Pickled Pisces
As a water sign, it's only natural that Pisceans find comfort in liquids. When those liquids have a high alcohol content, problems can ensue. Naturally, a twelve-step program can be of enormous benefit here. Meditation and yoga can help, too, as they allow Pisces to achieve a healthy sense of nirvana. That's all these Fish are really seeking.-
ANSWER:
I'm pisces... what's right about this is that you can put me in the beach or in a swimming pool all day long... better yet all week... and i stay there.. i dont mind at all... but i don't drink.. i don't solve my problems through alcohol...I might be lazy about solving my problems... yes i admit... as i think a lot about the solution cause i'd be afraid of its consequences...

QUESTION:
please answer my question?????????????????
firstly im an avid anxiety sufferer have been for id say a year or so now, im 18 and overweight but recently started losing weight, it first started from energy drinks i would have 2 sometimes 3 a day.
Then came the sinking feeling in chest it was horrible, like my heart dropping.i had an episode of tachardia 6 moths ago i think, and they said it was caused by anxiety, the docs i mean, i was in hospital overnight and i had 17 pvcs or so, i handnt slept for 36 hours when i came out, they said i ws ok and ordered holter monitor to make sure, i had the monitor for 24 hrs and it came back ESSENTIALLY NORMAL.
my doctors said i was getting ectopics
my anxiety has progressed, i am constantly on edge, i have bursts of adrenaline through jumpiness and have had numerous panic attacks, with really fast heart beat hard through chest, i completely cut out caffeine, but still experience skipped beats. and sometimes palpatations.
im scared of just suddenly dieing or going into ventricular tachardia or ventricular fibrillation, its taken over my life.
last few days have experienced chest pain, all last week i had a dull ache in left arm etween ahoulder and elbow,(scarry!), then ive been having quick stings in arm, few nights ago heart was fluttering or thumping as i tryed to go off to sleep, i woke up with stiff upper left shoulder and my forrid was cold and bit sweaty, before this last friday i went to hospital they did ECG and said i was ok, i have been hospital literally 6 or 7 times since this all started, even had paramedics out to find they said anxiety.
last night i had a soreness when lying on my right side was in my left arm the whole arm really, (like when you lift loads of weights and its really sore) then i had quick sharp 1 or 2 second stings in ly mid left arm , i checked pulse seemed normal, i lay down on my back and felt a flutter like insode felt like a drop feeling, i got on all fours (helps me calm down) and had another little one again, then lying on my right i could feel another one flutter and felt like insde a thus or thud or throb, (really scarry)
i would say my anxiety of the pain brought them on but im unsure, after this i finally went to sleep to wake up sort of little later with a pull in opposite (right) arm, and tingly fingers the pulls was like an ache like id been lying on it, (had i ????????????????)
so yeah now im scared today, havent been sleeping well anyway, no appetite, always tired.
i had palpatations the other night aswell lifted up my shirt and felt 5 or 6 beats through chest, not really fast but aware)
i have also before woke up hearing my heart, is that normal, i keep seeing stories of people with icds and that, would the doctors found the problem.
everytime i ask questions people say get to ER noe, but i have been so many times and they say im fine.
(on a side note i used to sometimes when i was 12 or 13 put polish or air freshener in my mouth and swallow, it lasted about 3 months became a habit, i know how stupid, i completley stopped and im now 18.
my doctor said heart pain last at least minutes not seconds, and that holter would show if heart finding it hard to do job, or i have angina, i want to be healthy recently lost 40 or so pounds, i now dont eat enough, i did have alot of sugar before bed last night could this be the trigger of pvcs
everything startles me, im so scared, i need help for this, im getting thereapy, im sorry for essay but i need to explain properly, thankyou if you answer, its would be much appreciated.
-
ANSWER:
Well there could be a long list of causes for your situation so someone would need to be a medical expert and review your entire medical chart to adequately answer your question. It sounds like your situation however is probably not directly related to a serious heart problem or disease. You should practice more calmness, and less stress, anxiety and/or excitement. Cut out the energy drinks; they are loaded with sugar and caffeine. Keep on exercising and try eating lots of fresh fruit and veggies. You need to remember that your body is use to one way of living and now you are taking it in the opposite direction. Start with little changes, i.e. don't cut out bread but eat whole grain instead of white, use sugar substitutes, eat smaller portions and most of all drink lots and lots of water and get plenty of fresh air and sunshine. Keep on keeping on but quit worrying so much - that may be causing all of your anxiety. Take slow deep breaths when you feel a panic attack coming on and do some self-talking to calm yourself down.

QUESTION:
have you ever been through a night without sleep then a busy day afterwards? ¬¬?
its just that last night i STUPIDLY had two red bull (energy drinks) at about 11pm and since then have only slept about 30 mins, literally (now it is 9am for peoples oversea.). My eyes are kinda.. stinging? well they're heavy.. but every time i go to go to sleep, my eyes won't let me. It's my friends birthday today and she's having a sleepover, and idk if im gonna be able to go as i'm sooo tired, and don't want to ruin it for everyone else.. any tips or advice on what i could do? other than simply.. sleep. Lol. D:
so basically, i haven't slept since yesterday 11am? D:
-
ANSWER:
Yes I have, and you can totally manage the sleepove tonight without sleep. But if you're not used to powering through, then you should try to have a power nap now or in 3 or 4 hours.
I would have something to eat that doesn't have sugar in it, something warm, with a cup of caffeine-free tea or hot milk with a bit of honey, pull the curtains and put on pjs and try to watch a movie. If you can drift off, you'll be refreshed for tonight. Another thing that will help you sleep is a nice warm bath.

what are these symptoms please? any help?
for about a month, every now and then i get a random moment of burning smell, no one else smells it. it only last a few seconds, and only happens about once or twice a day. Also have been really exhausted latley, when i normaly have so much energy, now almost everyday by 11 i am falling asleep in lesson or am exhausted. i eat reugarly and drink regularly and have 8/9 hours sleep.
i have a rash that started off just being one rasied bump that looked like a stinging nettle sting, now i go throught about three waves of complete itching everywhere except my face and the bumps are everywhere and ive itched so much im covered in scabs. i am not allergic to washing powder (we have changed it over and over) nore am i allergic to pets, food, gluten.
i also get headaches in the mornings almost everyday - i always drink a glass or two of water before going to bed, so i dont think its dehydration.
I fainted about a month ago twice in the same day - it was left unconclusive.
I have had routine blood tests, all blood pressure tests, i don't have diabetes or any blood sugar problems. i am a healthy weight and have a healthy balanced diet, i regualarly play sports and have done for years. i sleep 8/9 hours a night. antihistomines do nothing, and no creams including doctor perscribed creams have helped the rash.
Doctors have no idea. i have been referred to a dermatologist for the rash, but the appointment isnt for weeks, and i am literaly itching until i bleed ! its not nice, any help would be much apreciated.
i have had the rash for a month and a half and its has kept getting worse and worse despite being perscribed several lotions and antihistimines.
thanks

ANSWER:
I would guess that the problem is neurological. Go back to your doctor and suggest that a test be done for a possible brain tumour. This is not being hysterical. Two of your symptoms-
smelling burning and the fainting and headaches - point to some problem in the brain. The trouble is how long does it take to see a specialist ? I cannot offer advice on the itching. It may be a serious infection. The one I have in mind is leptospirosis, a bacterial disease cased by organisms carried by rats. The rash is common and so are fainting fits.
Good luck

the burning smell may be because you are rubbing the hair on your body too vigorously that they produce the burning smell due to friction, while scratching. Rub your palms till heated on any hairy part of the body and smell it, it will smell the smell of burning.Have you taken any drugs or been indulging? The itching may be urticaria. Have you been suffering from any breathing troubles before and that has been attempted and seemingly cured?
Are you suffering from any ischaemic heart diseases or nerve/artery ailments. Have you been suffering from Sinus or allergy and antihistamines taken? Is your blood pressure going low? QUESTION:
Painful red spots/rash on roof of mouth and tongue?
It started off with a blotchy/spotty red kind of rash on the roof of my mouth which was a bit itchy and irritating but nothing that I couldn't cope with. Now however, 3 days on it has spread to my tongue. It started off on the tip of my tongue and is slowly spreading backwards along the sides of my tongue to the very back, more spots seem to appear every time I look. It is extremely painful to the point where I can eat nothing apart from yogurt/ice cream, which still stings. I am also struggling to drink and can hardly talk, as it is so painful to move my tongue. I also feel quite drowsy and as though I do not have much energy. I have been to my GP, who said he did not know what it was, but gave me anti-biotics in the hope that they would work. These are doing nothing though and it just seems to be getting worse and worse. I have searched everywhere on the internet but can not find anything...help someone please??-

please tell what you think of the style (what you like, don't like), and then what you think the poems are each about. thanks!! - fyi there's 7 poems.1. Chemistry (Villanelle)
Do you feel what I feel?
This energy, so electrifying.
I hope this is real. The air from my lungs you found to steal,
Yet meeting you was gratifying.
Do you feel what I feel?My mind begins to reel,
As each fact learned is to my liking.
I hope this is real.Impatient to see you with such zeal,
My thoughts have me constantly sighing.
Do you feel what I feel?An onion I continue to peel,
Preparing a meal happily crying.
I hope this is real. This feeling continues like a wheel,
Incessant and death-defying,
Do you feel what I feel?
I hope this is real.2. The First of December (Rondeau)
The first of December marks my birth,
Best celebrated around the hearth.
During frost-bitten cold,
Having snow is nice to mold,
Or sit indoors and watch it stir.Enjoying company with much mirth,
Hoping all the chocolate won’t expand my girth,
Friends like this is finding gold;
The first of December.Yet I can’t stop thinking about the allure,
And the warmth that seems so pure.
Please don’t tell me my dream is annulled,
While I think of that gentle hand to hold.
Tell me, do you see the lure?
The first of December.3. (Cinquain)

Sadly for that night, there was no excitement.Saturday night you invited me over for drinks,
Like a rocket shot up, there was excitement.I met your friends and it was getting late, finally we’re alone,
At critical mass there was definitely excitement. We got closer and closer talking all night,
Do you feel the escalating excitement? Now that we’re back at school, you’re slow to respond,
What has happened to the excitement?5. Far East Movement (Pantoum)

QUESTION:
Is there a disease with me, or am I just not feeling good?
I honestly have no clue. I'm 16, turn 17 in less than two months. Guy, 5'8.5, 138lbs at lightest in the mornings (13.1% body fat or so). I prefer to think I exercise regularly (walk about 2 hours a day unwillingly- my school is huge).I don't get my optimum amount of sleep, only about 5-6 hours a day, but it doesn't seem to matter. I always seem tired, utterly exhausted, never in the mood to just go out and do something physical. In the summer I tried to, for once, get all of the sleep I needed. It didn't work. I slept nearly 11-12 hours a day and it didn't help.
I have this mental 'fog', I call it, that is always there, just beyond me. I can barely ever think straight for a long time at once, and it effects me deeply. I'm highly intelligent apparently, as I got extreme high marks on my state graduation testing I took last year, and I've had a upper-college reading level since I took tests in 6th grade- and probably before then too. This block that keeps me from thinking freely is ruining all of it- my grades are getting in the toilet fast, just because I can't think or focus on school work, despite easily grasping the concept I just don't notice the work.
My physique, while never being better, is actually turning worse. I can't run more than a minute without being utterly exhausted now, while once at the doctors office when I was 11 I ran for 25 minutes straight at 6 miles an hour with a constantly graduating incline. I feel just down low to the ground, with absolutely no energy.
At the same time I have this low headache- usually so insignificant I really don't notice it. Some days it'll peak, and I can't be around any noise at all. Kind of related, my spine feels really weirded out, like it can't move. And it's hypersensitive- poked in the spine makes me scrunch forward, and a water balloon once hit it. To keep it succinct, let's just say I taught my friends around me several new swear words because of the pain. It constantly hurts.
My diet is fairly clean- I eat mostly meat more than fruits, vegetables or even water for that instance. Dinner every night has meats, from chicken wings to grilled steak, and my lunches are usually made with a Chik-fil-a chicken sandwich. I drink sodas maybe once a week, sometimes once every few weeks. Being in Arizona, I drink a lot of water by habit- about 3-4 bottles a day. Not enough, as it is, but that's the best I can do, seeing as it costs a dollar a bottle and the fountains suck.
The few things I have been diagnosed with are ADD, and chronic urticaria. The ADD wasn't caught by anyone for years, until only about 6 months ago I connected the dots in my behavior myself. The chronic urticaria I have no clue, nor does anyone else, how it got started. If you don't know, imagine being allergic to a bee so that, when stung, you swell and develop red hives, or large round bumps, on your whole body. Then imagine having a constant reaction to it for 5 years. And being constantly on benadril for the first half of it. Yeah...
Is there any obvious disease or something wrong with me? Or do I just not feel good usually? I've had most of the symptoms for years, but some are newer.
-
ANSWER:
Sounds to me like your entire system is out of whack. The sleepiness and brain fog say chronic fatigue, the pain and headaches sound like Fibromyalgia. But then you say you eat a lot of meat. And it sounds like it's more processed meat at that. Like breaded chicken and such. I would suggest you try to find a doctor who practices complimentary medicine or a natural path. Either one will look for the actual cause of what's wrong and will generally use safer herbals and other natural less invasive techniques, instead of just treating the symptoms and the side effects of whatever drugs prescribed like standard doctors do. But until you can find a doctor I'd suggest doing a few simple things first. One start drinking a LOT more water. You're in a drier, hotter climate so you need more anyway. Take your Weight and divide it by your height and that is how much water in ounces you should be drinking in a day, but I would try to drink a little more than that because of the climate. The next one you'll need your Mom's help with. I suggest that you cut meat out of your diet for at least 2 weeks, along with anything that comes in a box or a wrapper. This goes for dairy too. Try to just eat fresh fruit and veggies. BUT! you can eat as many fruits and veggies as you want so you won't starve.
I honestly think you're more likely to have developed some slightly more severe food allergies. I've actually heard and read studies where they are linking artificial sweeteners and High Fructouse Corn Syrup with ADD and ADHD. Plus I know those can both cause pain to flare up in the body.
So the main point of this is to help your body clean itself out a bit and reset. And after about 2 weeks I'd say start adding things back in SLOWLY. And anything you add back should be clean food. Organic or at least all natural, whole grains (no more white bread - how people can even eat that paste is beyond me ) whole wheat, rye, rice, etc. No more breaded meat of any kind (unless the breading is home made) make sure it's lean meat, chicken, fish, really lean beef or venison, some pork ( I still love grilled pork chops).
There's a lot more, but I think you get the idea. I know it will be hard. But wouldn't living with your chronic problems be harder?? If you have any more questions about this, please feel free to email or im me. The contact info is in my answers profile.

QUESTION:
Always feeling drowsy?
Hi all,I thought I'd ask on here but will see my local GP too. I have been tired constantly for the last 9 weeks. Finding energy for exercise is no problem but staying awake is. My eyes are constantly dry and stinging (eye drops do help a little) and I've had my eyes checked recently just in case it was that. I have bruises appearing under my eyes also. My diet isn't exactly the most healthy diet there is but it's not what I'd call bad and I do drink lots of water. I get a minimum of 7:30 - 8:30 hrs sleep per night and wake up and get out of bed easily in the morning. I wouldn't describe myself as particularly stressed (except about this constant tiredness). I am diabetic and my sugars tend to be well controlled. I am running out of things to try and can barely keep my eyes open for more than 5 hours.
Any tips / advice?
Cheers - Trev

QUESTION:
Do you think i should continue writing?
i've started finding an intrest in writing and reading, And began writing a story. i have put a section of it on here , i don't feel like it's that good so i dont know if i should continue writing or not. so i would like you to tell me what you think.
ps(i'm onli 15 yrs of age,do you think i should keep writing, or not?)I couldn’t believe it we were now in six form. Leaving secondary school was the worst day of my life. The memory flashing back; I could hear the terrifying screaming and shouting. “HELP! HELP!” I hear, I was stuck I couldn’t move, and screaming and shouting would’ve been useless because no one would’ve heard me. Not being able to help all those people was horrific for me, I felt as if it was up to me to save them and I would’ve risked my life for them, if I had the chance to. Especially hearing them and feeling the pain they were in, it was distressing.
Breathing got difficult as the heat got unendurable. I had lost all my energy and strength from trying to push myself out of the wooden trap I was caught in. I could bearly see as it was dark all around, I was far away from everyone else and if someone came looking for me, it would have been impossible for them to find me.
It was a terrible night; it was supposed to be a night to remember but resulted into a night to forget. As I lay there hopelessly, I drifted away in thought, trying to take my mind of being in this situation. I thought of what would happen after this; I wondered were Emily was and it stung me to even think of anything happening to her. We were literally like sisters; we’ve known eahother ever since we were five years of age. And we were now supposed to be finishing secondary school, but this building collapsed on us. The last time I saw Emily was when Craig martin invited her for a dance, she seemed very jubilant (I had never seen her that happy before) I walked away to get myself a drink then…….. .
I still laid there in silence. I couldn’t shout, scream or move myself, so I had decided to give up and prepare myself to die. Even though my life wasn’t amazing, and I hadn’t fully achieved what I wanted to in life, I felt almost ready for the worst to happen right now. I’m usually invisible at school anyway, people bearly ever recognized me “Are you in our year?” one girl had asked me before, I was soo surprised when she asked that… I sat next to her in French for a whole year and she still didn’t know who I was or even remember my name the slightest bit. Most people knew me as the girl who’s always with Emily Sykes, or they misidentified me for Emily or someone I had never even heard of. I was more the suffer in silence type, I felt comfortable the way I was at school , I wasn’t shy……..I just didn’t communicate or socialize with anyone I didn’t like.
Whilst I laid there with my eyes shut, ready to die. A light of hope struck through me as I heard footsteps approaching.

ANSWER:
You do have good tension. What I would like you to do is consider that when you ask others to read your work you owe it to them to polish it up a bit before you ask. If I invite you to my home for dinner, I think you would be surprised if I came to the door unbathed, and told you to boil some spaggetti, then handed you a can of cold sauce to dump over it, right? Our expectation as a reader is that the author has tried their best to not only compose dynamically, but also to catch common ordinarey errors in spelling and punctuation. At 15 you may find your English classes boring. However, if you hope to become a wirter, the baxic tools are spelling and punctuation, and if you don't master them now, your bad habits will imbed and you will keep many others hired as "editors", etc, if---and this is a big if---you are so gifted as to make some agent or puplisher want to go to the extra effort. I have deliberately not spellcheckec this or looked at the scree while typing.
I challenge you to find the errors and post their number in the comments section.
I woould also prefer you to use descriptive terms that let the reader figure out the emotional state of the character....tho I have to confess I like the night to forget comment even tho it contradicts the above. Your story did succeed in making me want to know what happens next!
and that is a very hard place to take modern people to because we are all so jaded and over exposessed in general. Did I mean over-exposed, or over-possessed? Hmmmspellchecker can't tell. Try to found or join a writing group at your school or outside of it. Real people are your best resource. Lots of Luck, Lots of Effort, and LQL

QUESTION:
is there anything wrong with me or not?
i am a 15 years old girl who has a few problem right now. in the last 3 years i have gained a lot of weight- but i exercise and eat and drink healthy,- im finding it impossible ti loose it though . i have had not had any periods for a year and have a whole lot of other problems
.-extreme bad headaches (to the point were i cant move my head or body because the pain becomes worse)
- swelling , itching and face and neck turning red
-sore ears (like stabbing pains, worst cases in winter i loose hearing for about a month)
- cant swallow (because of swollen neck) (also affects breathing )
- compleat loss of energy (not that i have much to begin with)
- all of these symptoms start after i experience flu like symptoms a few day before hand e.g(runny nose , temperature )
but in the last year other problems have presented themselves
- extreme clumsiness (broken bones as a result)
- cant grip anything with my hands - i also get tingling and numbness in my finger tips mainly the index finger , i also have tremors in my hands which i cant control.
- random pains and cramps in my body (mainly joints)
- sensitivity to bright light and heat
- problems going the loo. (i can no longer eat meat-it makes it worse)
-nosebleeds frequently
-very bad reaction to wasp stings(ended up in the back of ambulance because i couldn't breath - he was not concerned )
all of my blood tests came back fine as did my ultrasound scan. i am taking a 48 hour urine sample.
my specialist was rather 'rude' to me however. he said 'was i hoping for something to be wrong so he could give me a pill and make me thin?' i was angered at this comment. i am glad i am well be would like to be certain. does this sound normal? he said i suffered all of this because i was fat. i am not worried or hoping that something is wrong with me. just hoping somebody could shed some light on any of it.-
ANSWER:
I would definately be concerned with these symptoms. I am not going to be much help on a diagnosis, but i would go to several different doctors. Look for a doctor who is willing to listen and help. It would never hurt to get several doctors opinions. Some doctors will think of things that others would not.

QUESTION:
I don’t know what’s wrong with me, doctors don’t really listen to me, and I’m miserable?
For a while now, I've been losing my vision when I stand up. It's been happening for longer and longer at a time, though. Also, my eyes keep vibrating for a few seconds at a time, like they'll move back and forth rapidly, and I'll lose my vision for sometimes up to 5 seconds. It's been happening many times a day lately. I've also been feeling nauseous a lot, the thought of any food makes me feel disgusting. I can't stand to look at it, and if I'm hungry, I can't eat it. I had a hamburger the other day and I couldn't take a bite, I took one and the smell of the hamburger made me so nauseous that I had to go sit down. I get nauseous a lot, just randomly. I'll be walking somewhere and all of a sudden, I'll get so incredibly nauseous and I'll black out and my mouth will start watering really bad. Then I'll have to go to a window to get some fresh air and sometimes I'll just go into the bathroom and dry heave, but nothing will come out because I was too nauseous to eat. My limbs will go numb, and so will my face. I feel sometimes a little drunk when this happens, I get lightheaded and feel like I'm in some kind of (terrible) high. I sweat a lot when this happens, my face will just be wet. I was eating my favorite food the other day, and I just ended up vomiting it. I'm not anorexic, I am happy with my weight, but although I used to love food, it just makes me sick now.My brain's been really foggy too, and I'm tired 24/7. I can't focus on anything, I failed 3 exams this semester (I'm 17). I used to be able to read but from the moment I get up, I'm exhausted. I can't focus on anything, when I'm reading a book for school (even if it's in something I'm really interested in), I'll just be looking at the book, as opposed to reading it. I'll see the words individually but I have an incredibly hard time putting them together and understanding sentences. It took me almost 2 hours to read 8 pages in this supposedly simple book we were supposed to read in class, everyone else FINISHED the book (which was around 300 pages) in less than a day. I can't keep my eyes open. I sleep up to 18 hours a day sometimes, although most it's closer to 12 or so. Even if I sleep a normal amount of time, I'm exhausted all day from the moment I get up. I also have an almost constant headache. If I get up and try to study after getting a "good" night's rest, my eyes will hurt from trying to keep them open. I thought I might have some low blood sugar so I ate a lot of candy the other day whilst I was feeling nauseous (someone told me to) but it didn't make me feel better. Neither does drinking water, soda, eating, nothing works. It's not that I'm starving myself because even though I get nauseous when I eat, I do eat a lot sometimes, and I still feel like this. My cheeks have gone numb right after eating before.
Sometimes I feel very hot and start sweating. I wake up during the night sometimes incredibly sweaty, even if my room is at a normal temperature. I don't have enough energy to do anything. I thought I might be low on iron or anemic today, so I ate three eggs, but right after eating them even, I was just on the verge of passing out. I was looking around my room for something and I couldn't find it and I was just breathing heavily and I had to lay down on the floor because I didn't have enough strength to keep standing.
I get these heart pains as well, sometimes they get really bad. I've been getting them since before I was even 9, they happened when I breathed in so I thought it might be precordial catch syndrome, but you're supposed to outgrow that. Sometimes when I get these pains, I think I'm dying. I have a hard time breathing and it just stings terribly. My arms have also gone a little numb when this happens. I get these stings all over my body, but it's mostly around my heart area. Sometimes when I'm not even doing anything, maybe lying in bed, a part of my body will start to sting. It's not anything inside of it like it is with my heart, but it's just my skin. It won't go away if I scratch or rub it or anything, or if I put something cold or hot on it, nothing works. It feels like I'm being jabbed with a needle. My mouth also burns sometimes, I looked it up and it's apparently a condition called "burning mouth syndrome". It just starts feeling like it's burning randomly, I'll just be walking around and not thinking about it when it happens.
I also have a hard time breathing, sometimes I feel like my throat is closing up. I don't know, it might be because I have rather large tonsils, but it's still uncomfortable and I've been dealing with it since I was a little kid, but I never got them taken out.
I have a BMI of 18.5 (very healthy), I'm not fat. What does this sound like?

ANSWER:
nothing 5 hour energy is not really a drug the ingredients are all natural herbs and junk, and if you have taken the correct dosage of benedryl there shouldn't be any side effects when mixed with anything really. now if you had done some cocaine and took like double dosage of benedryl maybe there would be some erratic heartbeat thing going. just sayin

QUESTION:
Do I have tonsillitis or quincy or do I need my tonsils removed?
Wednesday night I was fine and through the day but when I woke up on thursday morning, my left tonsil was red and had two small white dots on them. As the day got on I didn't eat much until I decided I would have to have something just to keep energy but I was sick for the rest of the day and night (3pm-10pm) and most of the time it was just water which I was drinking. Then on friday after college I went to a pharmacy to get throat spray as my throat was hurting and they give me a spray called "Difflam" and said to use it over the weekend to see if it helps. Its saturday night now and my left tonsil is full of white spots and the spray stings when I use it. I've eaten ice and ice-cream - I've evan gargled salt water and mouth wash but nothing seems to help and it really hurts when I swollow and sometimes theres a horrible taste when I do swollow - please help!-
ANSWER:
Its tonsillitis, the white spots are pus so you need antibiotics to clear it up. I suffer from tonsillitis a lot and sometimes it clears itself up but it sounds like yours isn't going to from how long you've had it.Get to the doctors on Monday and they can prescribe you the antibiotics. In the meantime take paracetamol and ibuprofen (you can take these together as they are two different medicines - my mum is also a nurse so I'm not making it up) every four hours or as instructed on the packet and it should ease the pain.

For 4 months I've been noticing physical and mental changes in my cat. I've been watching her closely in hopes of treating ASAP to avoid pain and suffering. My cat is about 10 months now and is black all over. I started to notice changes in the color of eyelids, nose and lips as they seem to be chapped or lightening. I let her out often and prefer it that way and she gets into many situations while frolicking in the bushes, ingesting objects she vomits up, getting stung by bees, chasing ducks and falling in the river, climbing up trees chasing squirrels, etc. I recently met my neighbor who is both physically and mentally ill and has confided in me with her symptoms, beliefs, and theories as to what may or may not be "killing her". After 3 weeks of knowing her I found myself more concerned with her constant tales of conspiracies and suspicions of being tormented by parasites she says are invading her body and her home. She's warned me to beware and keep a close eye out for the craziest things and found her very interesting with paranoid behaviors and delusions. She claims to have the last stages of Morgellons Disease and does not look well. She's abusing pain meds and claims her joints, muscles, and bones ache to extremes as a result. She believes that our apartment complex may also be infested with larvae, worms, and bugs and has exact names for them. She thinks they're in the carpets as silverfish and whiteworms. She claims my cat could be the main transporter of worms and parasites associated with Morgellons Disease. She's shaved her head and eyebrows, inspects fabrics, my hair, eyebrows, kitchen, carpets; SHE'S DRIVEN ME CRAZY. She recently got diagnosed with infection of ringworm in her scalp and has been all over my apartment with it. Now I'm paranoid. I clean constantly, shower, shave, inspect, and now I'm driving my cat crazy. I've researched online about the disease, ringworm, tapeworm, whiteworm, silverfish, roundworm. I constantly search for signs and symptoms and actually find some in areas of the kitchen both black and white. I've thoroughly inspected my cat and her feces constantly and notice that all the symptoms are all similar. Her hair gets greasy quickly and looks cloudy, she's been to the vet spayed and vaccinated and examined for constant diarrhea where I was assured she was not ill. She licks her but constantly and eats and drinks a lot remaining small and slender. Bowel movements are constant ongoing 24 hours with signs of blood, white specks, grass, and what I believed to be a tapeworm. I was not able to get it to the vet for testing right away due to lack of funds and had to dump the samples. I see no worms around her anus, and follow her waiting for something to jump out of her anus. She sleeps longer and heavier and no longer cuddles. Patches of hair are thinning here and there but she plays and meows with energy. It may be anemia, lukemia, feline HIV, a cold, hypothyroidism, chrones disease and the list goes on! I can't afford a complete physical. The vet asks for symptoms and I'm all over the map. My cats really starting to get violently irritated about my recent unnatural obsession of following her with a flashlight and a magnifying glass.-
ANSWER:
You really need to calm down. First of all, really there isn't anything your cat can catch that you or your neighbor can catch from a cat. Their illnesses do not transmit to humans. Tapeworms and other intestinal parasites can transmit to humans, but if you wash your hands every time you handle your cat, and keep her litter box clean, you shouldn't even worry about catching those. You don't need to see a tapeworm, or any other parasite, all you do is take a stool sample to her vet. They can test it and tell you if there are any parasites that need to be treated. Silverfish are not harmful to pets or humans, so that isn't the problem.Since you allow your cat to be outside much of the time, she may have contracted FIV or Felv, unless she had been tested and vaccinated for them. They are highly contagious between cats, and any stray could have given it to your cat. Your cat should be tested for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus, (FIV) and Feline Leukemia (FeLV). It is a simple 10 minute blood test done by your vet. It isn't expensive. Explain your financial situation to her vet, they will work with you. Take a stool sample with you to be tested for parasites, again they can check it in their office in a few minutes. You can collect the stool sample by putting only some newspaper in her litter box, and put the feces in a zip lock bag...it will be a good clean sample even if she scratches some of the paper into it. Your vet can advise you from there. If all is negative, you need to vaccinate your cat for FIV and FeLV. Then you need to make sure your cat is getting a quality diet, and your neighbor needs to get a life.
Your cat isn't responsible any illness she may have. She sounds like a bipolar hypochondriac. If she suffers from Morgellons Disease, diagnosed from a doctor, they would have told her that they don't even know what causes the disease. It may not be a parasite, they haven't found one. It is often successfully treated with the same medications as Lyme disease. People can be allergic to cat's saliva which floats in the air along with their hair and dander, but only if they are in the same apartment or house with them. and it is usually only typical allergic type reactions, such as stuffy nose, puffy eyes. Most people aren't allergic to cat dander/saliva. It usually looks much like a pollen allergy. It can be uncomfortable, but it isn't going to kill anybody. Someone with asthma may be affected by cats in their own home, so anyone with a history of asthma shouldn't own a cat because it can trigger an attack, although meds today usually keep that under control.
One more thing you should consider. Your neighbor. If she is unbalanced...and I think you know she is....she may be slowly poisoning your cat. If she blames your cat for her own "illnesses" it is not uncommon for those people to poison an animal, either accidentally by setting out rat and rodent poisons and insect poisons, or on purpose. She could be slowly feeding your cat rat poison or another toxin, or your cat may be getting into the poison she puts out. All of the symptoms you describe could be from gradual poisoning. That may be why your vet was unable to find anything wrong when you took her in before. My best guess is your neighbor is killing your cat.

QUESTION:
please answer my question?????????????????
firstly im an avid anxiety sufferer have been for id say a year or so now, im 18 and overweight but recently started losing weight, it first started from energy drinks i would have 2 sometimes 3 a day.

ANSWER:
There is no way to pinpoint the cause of your problem with accuracy based on the information provided here, but from the description of your history and considering what you are saying about the "panic" attacks, there is no question, you have some issues that need to be addressed. Doctors are NOT going to help you with nutrition, only some drugs and that is "MAKE BELIEVE HEALTH."We are surrounded by toxins today in America. Genetic engineering is creating all kinds of disease states, allergies, and even deaths; food with virtually no minerals or vitamins; polluted water from fluoride & chlorine; meats & dairy from GRAIN fed animals that are so sick they only live 1/4 of their life expectancy to name just a few things. When you go the extra effort to make yourself sick by eating or drinking diet foods and energy drinks, it can create lots of devastating affects on your body.
Blood sugar issues, adrenal exhaustion, and dysbiosis of the colon all contribute to what you are experiencing. It's time to re-evaluate what you are eating and drinking, get serious about your health, and become educated while throwing out all the indoctrination from bad advice.
See a nutritional therapist and they can help you far more than a doctor prescribing drugs.
good luck to you

ANSWER:
Well, the first part of your question kind of sounds like symptoms of vertigo. I don't know if you have that, but it sounds similar. It's an inner ear imbalance and can cause a lot of the symptoms you have listed. I don't necessarily think you have vertigo, but it's a starting point to look at or focus on. You might be coming down (or already have) some sort of virus or infection. If your current doctor isn't taking you symptoms seriously, I would suggest looking for another doctor just to look over your symptoms.I think everything you have listed sounds very serious and I think they might be all related to the same unknown problem. I can't tell you whats wrong, but I know what you're experiencing isn't normal and definitely needs to be taken seriously. I would seriously suggest seeing a different doctor. Sorry I couldn't be much help, but I hope it works out.
