     I came across an energy drink that you can buy in bundle and you will actually be spending less than if you were to go to Monster or Red Bull or one of those other major energy drink distributors. The more you buy the less per serving you would have to pay. For example

     100 Servings or equivalent to 100(8oz) cans you would be around spending

     200 Servings or equivalent to 200(8oz)cans you would be spending around 0

     For the bulk you mentioned
     800 Servings or equivalent to 800(oz)cans you would be spending around 0

     The reason it is so cheap is because they have eliminated the can and put it in a easy to carry packet.

      They could fine him because of lack of tax. They could also fine him for not having a vendors license. They could also fine him based on sanitary conditions of the product.

      Furthermore, the people he sells them to could sue him if they get an illness because of it.

      These are both misdemeanors.

    Hi! What are some ways to improve business for a gas station/convenience store?

    I own/run a getty station/convenience store and I want to improve the business and bring in more customers. The gas station is located ona busy intersection. We also have an empty food space, where a taco bell use to be. We have made an effort to bring in people to start something, but usually they don't have the money to start something there or aren't negotiable.

    But lately ever since we started the "please prepay before pumping your gas or use your credit card" rule since we've had too many drive-offs that were costing us money, business hasn't been doing so great ever since. Not to mention, another convenience store has opened on the same road, which is also causing us to lose customers. The only thing that brings people to that store is that they have a lottery kino and freshly-made sandwiches. Also, another getty gas station on the same road, has stolen most of our ideas and sells most of our products such as gum, candy, sandwiches, dairy, etc. at the same price or items at a lower price such as ciggerettes. So, we are really trying to improve the sales of our store/bussiness. We sell most candy bars types/flavors/companies such as Hersheys, Nestle, Snickers, fast break, etc, dairy items, candy/gum, everyday need items, sanitary items, medicine, etc.

    But we would like some suggestions on what energy drinks, drinks in general, and ice cream to sell (We sell turkey hill and Ben and Jerrys), fast food items such as sandwiches, microwavable meals) that would sell and are popular or any kind of machines or products that would bring in some profit are avaliable from a wholesale dealer. Are there any machines you like to see in a store such as a slushie machine, cappuccino machine, sandwich warmer, grill etc? Or any services such as money gram/money orders, etc? Are there certain products/items you like to see in a store or that you know is popular and sells well at a store near you? Any suggestions are welcome!
    Milk here for about the lowest price is .79

    There's already a dunkin doughnuts across our gasstation and we already sell lottery tickets, not to mention we barely get any money of that maybe a cent or two off of each ticket. But the tickets sell well.

      I live in a city where its not prepaid. At any of the gas stations I know of. But a new one came in and they are keeping the deal, not prepaid. This was their marketing, they sell milk for 1.99. At the store its 2.70-3.20. Its something everybody needs. They have signs that say Milk 1.99 per gallon. Its always packed. For milk. It was that simple. Once they ordered so much milk it was much cheaper and they made a profit.

      Its something many people buy every day or every other day.

      I talked to the manager all the time, he said we sell more milk then the grocery story. They dont make a penny on the milk, but since people are there to buy 3 gallons of milk, they fill up too.

      Once they started it the gas station across the street changed to try and do it as well. But it was too late they had the market.

      Just a thought, it worked here.

      *update* so find out what you can get for even money for milk. That made that gas station. Dont make a penny off the milk. The rest is where you make it. It worked for them, that was their business plan. And it worked.

      No, it may not be legal.

      It's one thing for you to PERSONALLY buy a product, now own it, then resell it on Ebay. It's a whole different matter to attempt to wholesale it and other things. Many manufacturers strictly prohibit the conduct you're trying to do. If caught, you are in for legal problems.

      Also, anyone buying from you, if smart, will want your wholesale license (yes, there is actually one for this) because it prevents them from paying sales tax and other crap.

      It first depends upon if this is a franchise or a company store. If it's a company store, you have to go through the corporation ... the local manager will have little or no say in the matter.

      If it's a franchise of a large company, the large company may have rules that prevents franchises from selling "unauthorized" products.

      If it's a franchise without such rules or if it's an independent, the store owner can make the decision. And, in this case, there are several ways to make this happen. The least risk for the owner would be to do it on a commission ... you would own the product, and the store would keep a percentage of each sale. As a new product, the owner will be reluctant to do it wholesale.

    When advertising cigarettes, how can a convenience store say "Lowest Prices Allowed by Law" ?
    In a given state, if wholesale cost for a pack of cigarettes is , and the taxes total , then the convenience store pays as its cost.

    Wouldn't "lowest price allowed by law" be retail, and then the retailer would make no profit?? Or do states mandate a minimum profit percentage for the retailers?

    Do they just use that to lure in customers, sell them cigs at cost, and hope they buy coffee, energy drinks, donuts, etc??

      Hi There,

      In many instances throughout the world, the only cost that is constant is taxes. Taxes in many country defy the standard practice of commerce of bulk purchase. I have yet to come across governments giving tax discount on bulk payment. I have seen the more you earn the more percentage you pay income tax.

      Therefore cost price will drop if the purchase is bigger and the same will apply for most goods worldwide.

      Controlled items in my country have a maximum celling price. Agent controlled items will have its standard retail prices. However during promotional period you may be allowed to offer discounts. Even so or cigarettes.

      In life as well as in marketing there is no such thing as a free meal or cheap priced item. Usually there is a hook attached.
      I you get to buy cheap ciggarettes, it may be a hook to get you buy some other items in the shop.

      That is called purchase with purchase promotion. In your given scenario, most likely they are "spending" their profit margin in cigarettes to draw in customers and hope to gain profit for sales of other items and hopeully build a regular customer base. On the other hand, they may still make a small profit for the sale of cigarettes due to bulk purchase.

      Another reason that they do it is probably to clear off stocks that is almost at the end of their shelf life so that they can restock or terminate that product category.

      Nevertheless, all the answers are just to help you understand why they did it. The principal learning note here is, the consumers, do they find it a good bargain that they want to buy it there instead of elsewhere?

      If yes, then Horray for the consumers.

      Yes we're moving in the right direction, but it's not going to affect companies that produce convenience or fast-foods until people actually settle down, get their lives in order and actually take the time to teach their children good eating habits instead of driving up to the "take-out" at "McD's" because "we're so tired and over-scheduled and it's so much cheaper than groceries." (That's just a poor excuse,)

      As far as advertising goes, much of the budget for these chain restaurants is spent on crafty commercials to entice us at all times of the day and night. They make sure they use words like "healthier." It means nothing..I would suppose a candy bar is healthier than a cup of sugar if it has nuts in it. Make sure to read the fine print and disclaimers. I would like to see a real health restaurant chain start up. (Subway's NOT it, although they sure do claim to be "healthier." Read the nutrition pamphlet CAREFULLY. It's set up to fool us.
